Hey Atharia! I have a theory for the next Mass Effect 🤓 it'd be extremely bold and controversial for Bioware to do, because it's tied to Indoctrination Theory, so I'm not expecting it to come true. I do however think it's neat 🥔 For anyone reading who doesn't know it, basically Indoctrination Theory is the idea that everything after Harbinger's beam hits Shepard is the Reapers trying to indoctrinate them, while in reality Shepard is lying in rubble. I like a lot of what Indoctrination Theory has to say about the ending of ME3, cos it clarified a lot for poor lil me nearly 12 years ago when the ending made me confused and despondent. The extended ending DLC, which came after I finished ME3, didn't help my depression 😭 Now I know it's looking like the next Mass Effect happens 4 years after ME3, but... I think it'd be amazing is ME4 began with Shepard waking up after being hit by Harbinger's beam, and the story moves from that point. That way, Bioware could make the new game/s to be about the Dark Energy ending they were going to release before it got leaked. For anyone who doesn't know, that ending would have been that Dark Energy was prematurely aging/destroying the universe, and the Reaper's entire purpose was to find a solution. Shepard would have either decided to destroy the Reapers and hope the current cycle could find the solution themselves, or allow humanity to be formed into a Human Reaper, so that it could possibly find a solution to Dark Energy. Again, it would be insanely bold of Bioware to do this, thus chalking up ME3's ending to "it was a dream", but it would also make their job with the story MUCH easier, because they wouldn't have to deal with the Control and Synthesis endings. I'd be delighted if this happened, but I'm also extremely intrigued by how Bioware would create a Mass Effect story that DOES deal with Control and Synthesis. You (Atharia) have shown loads of great ways they could do this. Regardless, I'm am so cautiously hyped and blissfully terrified for the next game 😁😭👍
Not sure if you saw my recent video on how dark energy could be involved in the next game? I went over my thoughts there on that plot thread specifically. :) As to the Indoctrination theory stuff, I truly don't think they're going to go there. I know it's a very popular theory, but nothing I've seen so far from all the hints seem to be leaning that way. Again, most of that is down to the way I'm specifically interpreting stuff (e.g. I don't view the dead Reapers on the snowy planet as a Destroy confirmation), so that's why I think they're going to make all 3 endings work. The main reason I think they're working with all of the endings is because Gamble acknowledged "the endings" in his recent N7 day blog post. If he didn't do that, Destroy would've been more likely to be canon in the next game, IMO.
Protheans in Andromeda? The answer is NO. However, the question should be Can you build Mass Effect relays using Prothean tech? Yes, and the Protheans already have. Ilos and the Citadel are 2 examples of Relays built by the Protheans. Another thought, can someone in Andromeda build Relays using Remnant tech?
