A perfect way to get away from the crowds on the holiday. Well done Lance.
Indeed! Thank you, Jackson!
That looked like the ole scratcher boat! Great video on a new river! Good call on the life jacket when solo in a narrow boat, better to be safe.
It is the ol scratcher boat! I thought a life jacket would be good on this unfamiliar river in a small boat. Life jackets are a good idea anytime on the water.
Great video i bet if you got back up there with some bluegills. Four bait you would catch some nice flathead
I wondered that. I might have to give that a try.
Our small rivers look like trout streams on the west side of the state. Can't even take a kayak down them...unless you want to drag it behind you walking.
This is the smallest river I've ever had a motor boat on.
Great vid!
Bar S hot dogs are catfish catching magnets! Other brands? Nope, something about Bar S works well. Have caught bass with them as well while going for cats!
Interesting. I'll have to give them a try.
Small river fishing part of the fun is the adventure
The adventure is my favorite part!
You CERTAINLY EARNED those fish Lance. Looked like you worked your tail off to be able to be successful…THANX
It was fun work! I enjoyed that outing a lot.
Are those lake fork bass lures soft plastic 😊
Yes they are.
One of my favorite ways of fishing, small isolated streams, small boat and hungry fish.
Same here! Thanks for the comment!
We use the same bait,it works very well. What we do is use a small piece of a kitchen sponge and smaller hook. You still have to dry the sponge,we found it more effective than the rubber holders. Give it a try I think you will be surprised. Love the video. Thanks.
I've never tried sponge. Thanks for the tip!
Great video! Good day on the river
Thank you for the comment!
Great video Sometimes we use ringworms and a number 4 long shank hook. We roll the worms on flour to pull off the oil That is fun fishing for sure
Great tip! The use of flour is an interesting idea.
Looks like you had good time, channel cats always put up a good fight.
It was fun exploring and catching a few fish!
I second that last comment
😂
Great video! You're just as stubborn as me when it comes to getting to fish. The only difference is I would have been in the water as the human outboard.
That river looks just a bit bigger than the creek at the bottom of the hill from me. My experience is that in a body of water that size, the channels become the apex predator since they don't have to compete with flatheads. I wouldn't be surprised if you pulled 5 or 6 fish from the better snags after sunset with the daytime bite being that good.
I thought about jumping in and walking the boat but I didn’t want to get my shoes soaked, lol. I look forward to getting back out on that river and discovering more spots.
@@AnglerX Looking forward to it. Your video motivated me to whip up some blood bait and walk down to the little creek. Two 5#'s and a 3# in four cast starting @8PM fishing below a small rapid. The two big guys looked ancient and probably are since no one fishes this creek.
