Glad you went with the S10/350. Like I said, if done right they seem like they were made for each other. We have started a project-LT1 going in a 94 Astro Gladiator custom van, for tailgating later in the year.
I am at O’Reilly auto parts so much that one of their managers is now my next-door neighbor! Also they know me there by name. Pretty funny. Great video & great content. I think you may have answered my earlier question but I shall continue to watch when you get to the point where you put in the new AC system. Also - I love how you did the fabrication.
Doing a '99 Jimmy 4x4, myself. Also went with C4 water pump, Mercruiser pulley, etc. with factory 4.3 accessories and brackets. But what I did that people freaked out about, you did as well. I hole-sawed right through that alternator bracket (three walls), to shoot the heater hose from the WP right out the side. (Primary inlet on the pump clears, in my case.) People freaked when I suggested it. Went nuts when I did it. And still bring it up when I post pics of other things on the front of the engine.
I’m doing an LS swap into my 91 Isuzu pickup and although this isn’t exactly the same, you’ve given me some ideas. Space is very tight. Thanks for posting this stuff.
I have been trying to find pictures, video, anything of putting a radiator and a/c condenser into one of these for what feels like years. Apparently people have done it with stock parts, but not one single picture showing anything anywhere. I am basically going to copy what you did for my truck whenever I can get back around to it because this is perfect. Thank you.
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I love any tips you can give me
@Briggs Jaxon Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
You did what I suggested with the Radiator, That was really the only way to do it tho and will most likely be the same way I'll be doing mine too, But I won't know until I get there tho.... But I'm glad to see that it's coming along for you tho man, I can't wait to get my 350 swap started, I'm buying the Headers & Mounts this week or next and then I'll be ready to roll.... Can't wait!
For the upper radiator hose, when you get that far, use a hose for 90s impala ss and put the thermostat housing on such that it points back towards the windshield, the hose will then wind backwards behind the alternator and then come out nicely to the radiator.
My Silverado doesn’t have a Rad cap. You fill through the overflow, which has a pressure cap. You could probably get by with the Silverado Rad to keep from having to cut the core support. I see you used a hole saw. Just though in case someone is doing the same swap. This could be an option. For a really cool fan setup if you ever need one in the future. Check out snidertron 3000 youtube chann. He used a cookie sheet to mount electric ebay fans. It looks trick, looks like it may be stainless. He’s building an 80’s Camaro. Nice Job Kyle. Hi Saabkyle you're the OG of car reviews and your original style was what got me into car videos and made you really successful, Doug Demuro is now really successful because he stuck with 1 style of videos and made a second channel to talk about different topics, it would be great if you made a second channel so you can have 1 with only old school Saabkyle reviews and the other with your modern videos not saying what you're doing is a bad thing but your old school reviews were the most entertaining videos on UA-cam. Switching to the tour format has brought back some of that enjoyment, but the project content is what really prevented me from getting totally burned out. Nowadays, I'm making content that I'm truly passionate about. you could have sealed up the filler neck and installed an in line filler neck that goes inline in the upper radiator hose from a Corvette. That will keep the core support strong.
I explained that in the video, however I didn't see any inline necks that were corvette specific. I elected not to do an inline neck because I didn't want it hanging out from the radiator too far when I already have such limited space to work with. I added extra bracing so it'll be fine. That little bit cut out isn't going to hurt anything.
10:00 I wonder if you couldn't do away with the hood latch support, then tuck the radiator in as far forward as you can in the core support, basically putting it where the condenser was, then build a bracket and hang the condenser off of the front of the core support, then build a bracket for the hood latch.
This is possible, I just didn't know how much support the latch needed. I think I made enough room overall without getting too crazy, but that is an interesting idea for sure that I wouldn't mind trying at some point.
Long shot but do you still happen to have the original center hood support that you swapped for the second one?😅 I cannot find that center support for the hood anywhere!!!
Hey right in the middle of this exact issue. I couldn’t get the short water pump to fit because of the timing chain cover. It was recommended that I put a tarsus single fan on the corvette radiator. It are up all the gains plus I had to go back to the 5.7 water pump. I did notice though you had a two fan system on your video. Could you please tell me where you got it and any ordering information about the fans. Thank you
As I've said in posts on previous videos, when I've done this swap I've used Volkswagen fans, they use a flat style motor instead of having the motor hanging out. Also, verify that your Corvette water pump turns the correct direction to work with the serpentine belt setup vs an old v belt setup, the impeller is in the opposite direction for the serpentine belt.
Remember.. when cutting metals..making cuts..at the joining corners always drill out the corners. This will help from metal fracturing and or causing unexpected breaks. As that metal was before rounded and rolled that was to help from this happening.
Where did you buy the new AC system components and what are the part numbers? That would be awesome info. I have a Caprice 400 small block V8 & am looking for a more modern A/C system to install
Hey Kyle, I would advise that you check what kind of camshaft that 350 has, Because if it has a Flat-Tappet camshaft it is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE that you break it in correctly. It is of the UTMOST importance to the life of the camshaft. If it has a roller though than you don't need to worry about it. But please do check because it would suck to wipe a lobe off the camshaft.
Yeah man, I totally know what you mean. I had looked before, but I can't remember right off. I will double check beforehand, I have the part number lying around somewhere.
Soo in all retrospect you want to keep the pulling fans inside with all the clearance you need? I commented on the last video talking about the 2 12×12 pushing fans infront of the condenser right behind the grill, eliminates the stock big fan setup and gives you all the clearance you need. Looks good tho! I Always look forward for when you post these videos.
Yeah man, I remember! I had already purchased this fan setup and it was expensive enough that I didn't want to spend anymore extra money than I had to. All things considered, I think it turned out pretty good! Thanks so much for the advice!

Kyle, do you have a refrigerant recovery machine for the a/c system in our garage or is that something that you’ll have to get done at a shop? Also I’m assuming if this hasn’t been done already that you’ll have to convert the a/c from R12 to R134a?
I don't have anything like that so I'd either have to take it somewhere to be drained/recovered or invest in something like that at some point. Thankfully, the system wasn't charged, there's a leak somewhere. I'll be installing all new A/C components to run R134a.
Hey I was wondering if you would be willing to make a public Amazon/oriellys/etc list of parts you're using? Stuff like the gas tank insulation straps really peaked my interest but I'm not sure where to find it.
Yeah man, I should start doing that, thank you for the suggestion. I ordered the fan/radiator kit from S10V8.com and the gas tank straps came from LMCtruck.com. If you wanted to make your own fan setup on more of a budget, you can get the radiator from OreillyAuto.com Everything else I ordered through O'Reilly, except for the Mercruiser pulley, which was an Ebay find.

I didn't want to use an electric water pump. That was only part of the problem. The accessory drive sticks out further so I had to mod it regardless. No point in spending all that extra money on an electric pump if you have the ability to make yourself a custom setup.
In my opinion you did the wrong thing angling the radiator. How cowl hoods work is that moving air , circles at the windshield& comes back down the middle . is why the opening is in the middle at the back.so angling the "hot air from the rad is canceling out the flow & the benifits of a cowl. The hot air should be angled down a swept underneath& back with momentum
I understand your point of view, but from where I see it, air is moving quickly over the hood and passing over the windshield, causing air to be drawn out of the opening provided by the cowl hood. I think of it as a heat extractor vs a point of intake. Since heat rises, it should give the heat an easy exit point. Regardless, this is the design I needed to go with. Time will tell whether it works our not, but I'm confident.
Saabkyle04 No worries! I know your busy with the S10. I don’t have the luxury in my parents driveway to do a project. But that Restomod you did gives me some ideas as I have a old car I want to work on. Keep the content coming!

Nah hadn't thought about it haha, however, I think it'd be cool to make a wood flat bed for one of these trucks. Not this truck, but another s10.
great job
Thanks!
@@saabkyle04 no problem i enjoyed
A smaller 3rd gen Camaro Distributer will fit better !
Dude. Love the hat. Good work as always my friend. 👍
Preciate it!
KYLE I WAS JUST WONDERING WHY YOU DIDN'T SIMPLY GET A SMALL DIST. SET THE ENGINE BACK A COUPLE OF INCHES AND CUT THE DRIVE SHAFT TO FIT?
DON'T YOU THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER AND CLEANER? DON'T GET ME WRONG. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB JUST THINK THAT WOIULD HAVE BEEN A TON EASIER AND CLEANER.
What happened to the Chevelle?
I hope when I get further along with this truck that I can FINALLY start the Chevelle project. It's just sitting right now.
Hi can you send me the link of the fan you used
Just use a electric water pump and you will have all the room you want and wont have to hack up your core support
All you have to do to make that distributor work is just beat the fire wall back some
The way I have it, I might not need to. If so, it wouldn't be much.
5 dislikes are trolls or triggered gear heads who wants Kyle to do it their way.
Any word from the 240SX?
No, haven't had a chance to work on it.
Saabkyle04 No worries! I know your busy with the S10. I don’t have the luxury in my parents driveway to do a project. But that Restomod you did gives me some ideas as I have a old car I want to work on. Keep the content coming!
I appreciate that! I'm dying to work on it, just took on more projects than I can handle so I can try and have as much content as possible! Hopefully you get a chance to do a project for yourself sooner rather than later. Even if it's something relatively simple!
Saabkyle04 you have a beard
Yep lol
You have a nice beard saabkyle04.
17:00 old tires.
Yeah I suppose that works too if the rubber is thin enough. Bicycle inner tubes work too, but the fuel hoses worked perfect.
Promo Code says its expired. Thought I'd let you know
Hey bud, just wanted to follow up and let you know that the code should be fixed now. Thanks a lot!
Nice!! Great job.... :-)
Do a custom sound system in this and repaint this s10
That's the plan!
@@saabkyle04 On the project car that you don't keep do a giveway
Shame there wasn't quite enough room to put some plastic pipe on the filler neck to bring it further out. Oh well.
Yeah, it is what it is. Not a whole lot of options with this radiator it seems. There's another company that makes a nice tucked radiator for these trucks but I had already bought this setup so I had to make it work. I like how it turned out overall.
Great video. We did exactly the same tuck mod on our S10. No AC on ours, but we used same radiator and access hole for the cap. We just finished our engine build and will be starting our swap after thanksgiving. Check out our channel! Stay tuned for more upcoming videos!
Whens the next car review?
Probably this wednesday

What kind of wheels are you getting? Baby billets would work very well.
I got a set of Monte Carlo SS wheels for it, nothing too wild, but period correct.
@@saabkyle04 Yeah, they should do the trick.
