I was wondering why I got overwhelmed so fast - turns out I've never really killed those machines and too many small enemies spawned. Now that I know this I get easily the maxed out augment gems. Thank you very much!
Echoing Nightmares?? Whats that? I'm over 600 paragon and haven't seen one petrifying screams. :( This season is a huge waste of time for casual players. Epic fail on Blizzards part.
They need to hotfix the drop rate. Going from 100% drop rate to whatever it is not was too big a drop. Should be something like 75%.. so not EVERY GR, but they should be often enough to actually utilize.
They have to balance it for both 24/7 group players and casual solos though. 75% is too much, group players would be going to set new paragon records (again). I mean they are still going probably going to set records even with the drop rate as it is now. But I agree it's a bit too low now. Maybe even just like 10-20% would be good. It's clearly lower than 10% as it is now.

oh well, the XP isn't even that high. and it's only XP anyway... quite dull reward system. and on top they never drop. very disappointing indeed
@@nighthawk82 Yea honestly for a solo player. The focus is still on doing speed GRs almost the entire way through and pile up keys, only stopping to maybe join a group to clear the keys every few days at most (or just do them solo). So in terms of the seasonal experience, it's almost akin to having no seasonal themes. After the last two seasons, this is definitely disappointing~
@@soulawaken24 to be honest though... It was going to be REALLY hard to even compare with the last two seasons.
Solo players really struggling
Its easier to spot the machines by looking at the minimap, since when they spawn they are shown for a short time on the map and you can identify them easily since they dont move.
Is there a reason to go to 150, or is it mainly to just get more XP? Since the reward item caps at 125 from inside, there isn't much need other then maybe a bigger item pool and or more XP to gain, unless there is something else.
Other than a bandit shrine spawning, no there's no reason to keep pushing. Bragging rights are dope tho
Had no idea there were machines spawning the explosions, I was just trying to dodge them
I feel pretty dumb not knowing about the machines and jumping around a whole screen covered in explosions lol. Still got to 150 though just by using pylons around 120, so this really is quite easy to do solo.
Get those juicy Augments with ease!
I'm assuming the fire immune amulet does not work in here?

@@The_GlassCannon It used to work in the PTR, but they then changed the damage type to physical so people wouldn't cheese it, if I understood correctly.

Until now my max level achieved was 137 (in hardcore), but my strategy was to use unity and Ancestors grace, that way I'm extremely tanky and have 3 cheats death (follower, skill, amulet). Done with monk with circa 800 Para.
In my worst played run, I got only 2 death cheats activated, so it wasn't so bad (amulet was still there to save me one more time if needed).
@@dinartese7en Use a demon hunter and cube the cheat death on the torso, now you have 4 cheat deaths =)
With my DH i got up to 100 then I just run around ( no cheat skill popped ) because I'm not sure how deep I can venture before mobs really start to chop my health . Marauder set btw .
just can say how we did it in hc .. we did around 80runs . we pop speed at 100. cdr at around 110-115 . dmg at 120. and conduit around 125-130. marauder+inna monk + zdh +zbarb , both supps with flavor.. like that its ez as fuck.
its only with ease if the dam things had a better drop rate this is a bad season for casual player s

Cool thing, I decided to play a monk even before I new just how mega-super-insane-awesome she was going to be this season. I just decided than the INNA set dg was one I had not done and it looked fairly easy once geared. (My first try I was seconds away from mastery.. THEN I watched your vid on THAT too)

Yeah this season is garbage, Im nearing 600 paragon and havent seen a single one.
yah the drop rate is so odd I've gotten about 10 by level 800, my buddy same lvl only got 1.
I'm 600 para had 3 but yeah part of me thinks may as well just play non season only point in playing is to complete journey. Season theme kinda boring

126 is enough for the augment gem .. The max lvl of the whisper gem is 125
Not surprised they reused an old construct that failed originally. It's the same map but with pylons and mist without the wait to get to the next tier.
Drop rate is way to low for casuals, I’m almost paragon 800 mostly solo gr90 speedfarming and I had only one dropped so far. Kinda feels like playing non season at this point

I’ve had 7 drop and I’m only paragon 600. I mainly was doing gr70-gr80 and my lego gems are up to 70
Really ? So far i found 5-6 and ive done so little gr my 3 gems are only lvl 30
rng is a B^$!#, I had 2 drop within an hour of starting the season, I've had 9 total in around 2 days playing.
Edit: Paragon 1016 now, I've found 18 so far.
I found 12 in around 5 hours
If only they'd up the drop rate. Season feels vanilla af.
A seasonal drop rate of even 2x or 3x normal would be really pleasant.

I used the dashing strike damage reduction fist weapon for safety instead of the dmg from echoing fury

this whole season theme is pointless since they are so damn rare. 750 paragon and i have 1 just 1 and i am not playing monk i am playing crusader.

Following the Machines and putting them on my top priority ended up with my first run ending @ 127. Amazing tip really appreciate it.

Am I missing something? You awesomely did 148 but only got a 125 gem? Is it capped that way? Then, what's the point of going max to 150 here?

So in hard-core stop attacking and it will end?(pverahelmed), which in turns jeeps us from dying and losing our character.
This can be difficult with low level paragons ;)
My first try with para 650 and base monk = RIP cause the monsters are everywhere + multiple explosions ;)
Next time i will use an def gem ( Liferegen with shield or another one ) to survive this ;)
Raxx....this is off topic but i need to tell you your wrong about the witch doctor not being a good speed build. It's actually the fastest build in the game. If you're interested in learning:more I'll be happy to show you my build.
Really wondering why I am playing this season.
They took something that was fun on PTR and borked it by a thousand cuts.
I'm about 15 GRs in and zero gems for EN. I am running an LOD (rank 25) disintegrate/hydra sorc that is T7 and has cleared GR35.
About the only thing decent this season is I got my RORG on my second Act 1 bounty cache...
What is the purpose of getting higher than 126? The gem doesn't go higher than 125.

Blizzard really have screwed up on this for the casual player out of the 700 paragon i got i saw 1 and my partner did not drop one so the league for me is a complete bust and with out a decent league mechanic has become boring after just 3 days.

hey guys.. I have 4 screams, but I don't have the character yet to play the nightmares by myself.. can someone maybe boost me? I never played a nightmare and I don't know if it even works. can I just stay in town and get the gem too or how does it work?
I came back to Diablo 3 and pooped my pants from how much XP I got from echoing nightmares
Another thing you can keep an eye on is the map and if you see a skull that's not moving, that's where those pesky machines will be.

Couple of things to note/question :
1. Does this strategy work for HC too ?? i just want to note here my disappointment/surprice btw that on Maxxroll your EN guide do NOT mention HC at all. not a word. not even in the EN section of each class/builds either.
2. you downplayed this monk and made a point of it was just basic gear and its just a monk etc. But monk is OP as fuck :D and its S tier and have several builds in S tear.
Maybe when you want to demonstrate how easy something is, then dont do it with a S tier OP as fuck class/build ? :) maybe do it with a B tier class/build ?
not trying to be all negative here, your demonstration and thoughts here are certainly helpfull so thank you again for this :) im just asking for a bit a nuance for all of us normal mortal ppl that dont have God Tier D3 skills as you have, Rax :) and that is a compliment, not a insult :)
Raxx plays HC. Also I play DH and save the Channelling for my just in case last pylon to vault around everywhere to dodge and not die.

@@stylsh Just a suggestion, smoke screen >>>>> vault in Echoing Nightmare. If you have flavor of time equipped on your follower (you should) the sprint pylon will last from wave 100 to the end, thats all the mobility you need to dodge meteors and explosions. Smoke Screen gives you insane i-frames when using the Lingering Fog rune, and if you have channeling you are virtually invulnerable and can just sit and spam all day.
Marauder DH is insanely op for this particular game mode lol
Nice. I just stumbled upon this video on how best to do the Nightmare rifts which are stupidly rare now live. I will try some of the gear and skill changes with the strategies and see if I can survive until 150 solo. Thanks again Rax for this very informative vid! We really needed this video to survive because the echoing nightmare gems/drops are hard to get. Doing these is really enticing for the paragon increase and the augments for sure.
idk why people think they are rare i have like 30 sitting in my stash just from leveling and gearing my hc wiz.
Those "machines" are the same add spawner that you see in all the area's of Zoltun Kulle's archives.

Done a few 125-130's and got my 125 augments, is 150 boosting the xp insanely or why do we target it?
lol true, i only ever need to clear 130 to get my Level 125 augs. no need to push 150
EXP is much higher on 150 tier, I feel it with paragons levels gains

How do you level the whisper to 150? I completed a 151 run and it still dropped at 125.
FYI mobs can't be pulled or frozen, so Implosion and Merciless Assault won't work in Echoing Nightmare.
Enemies only need to be hit by Cyclone Strike for the damage buff. It doesn't matter if they're pulled or not.
@@oexarity287 I'm just saying that the Implosion rune doesn't do anything, might as well pick the healing rune instead.

Get in a group/community or play 24/7.
I just got a petrifying scream in my first T1 GR. Am saving it for when I am much higher. I have terrible internet so only play solo. I have said for years the RNG in this games needs an overhaul. The person at 600 paragons and no screams is a great example of why the RNG needs fixed.

Best advise is to join a community, and then join a group running EN. I was in a group of innas in the low 900 paragons. We were able to clear past 125 tiers in a few ENs and got some juicy 125 augment gems. Now I need to farm normal gems 😅
Make a l31 'ring' to feed all your blood shards (from those nightmare O_o) to kadala. IIRC The DH is one the classes with the lowest number of rings at that level. DO NOT GO ABOVE 31. then there are only like 3-4 leggo rings that kadala can give.

@@cozmothemagician7243 yeah that wat I did last season. Purposely leveled a sader till lvl 31 just to gamble rings on him. But after like 1 months into the season, I was getting quite alot of puzzle drops so this method would be good during early season
One of the worst (if not THE WORST) patches of the game ever... This makes unenjoyable to the casual gamer (4-6 hours p/week). You gotta spend like 4 hours p/day IF you get to go to the echoing noghtmare... This game went to bad to worst
hm i almost died trying to go for 150, when i was about 130isch i proced and the conduit didnt stop killing stuff even when i was 100%just trying to run away trying to end it.
i had to run a full minute (trying to end it) and it keept going because of conduit and the fucking minions that still killed stuff.
when it ended i almost had my proc up, it was like 55 sec of pure pain and suffering :>
btw ur saying "basic gear" and stuff, u got 4k dex from paragon, thats alot.
im kinda scared of this shit, but i think my mistake is playing with dodge mantra and not this invuln thing, also i did use this amulet witch makes u take 50%more damage if its active thats probably kinda bad too xD
1k paragon .....ONLY 2 key drops ...... 2 time mayor lag caused me to die UNDER 100 ... (inna all ancients ...so laughable season)

Once that hit it was gg, amazing job Blizzard... you've managed to create a lag generator lol. If they made a way to end it immediately then maybe id do it again, like in D2 arreat summit open a tp to cancel the ancients. Then the second the lag hits on Hc players they could tp and end it at the current level, dying to your own fault being an idiot is the name of the game and why we do it, but dyin to a lag machine you cant stop is some bs

So sad.. I'm playing the same build and have all my items aug, maxed out and following the guide. I still can't make it pass 130's.. LOL I have like 6mil damage. But when I get to 130, I get overwhelmed.
Man some of ya’ll are salty lol. Yeh Raxx is tiers above most skill-wise but the videos are helpful. I can see moaning about drop rates and lag but talking crap about the man is a bit much lol. Just got back into D3 again and Raxx is def the goto for quality breakdowns

I am p850 , self leveled, and only got 4 keys...
I'd like to add though, terrain also plays an important role in this stage. I got a stage like the underground barracks littered with pillars which obstructed the view and path to the machines (and your movement). If it's that kind of map you get, tank the stage and restart until you get a clear map
1.3m dps with nothing special for gear . who cares that the gear is not ancient. when you have rolls like those. I will try the pylon useage but i am in Hardcore and not as willy nilly as you are around things. Saving the Channeling may be more beneficial for me unless InGeom procs enough to keep things on CDR at the high lvl.
Anyone noted that EN it's heavy CPU/GPU demanding? For me, i can't do any GPU undervolt or the game will crash before reach 100.

You rather run 25 times GR for 125 augment? Or one few minute petrifying scream for 125 aug
as soon as possible augment early get power quicker, you'll get heaps through season at 400 para I got 130 on barb first try, am only running 75 G rifts...
Paragon 601 here..made it two 83..pretty proud first attempt..got 11 screams left...man yo never mentioned you get stuck on cracks😎

I'm having a problem, the pylons don't have their name on them so I can judge which one to take first. I've rebooted my pc and restarted the game and nothing helps...any ideas
I soloed this today for first time, tal rash just wrecks this take pylons on 120 and easy, for first 120 lvls i just pick a corner and spam 2 sides with meteors xD

I get bandit shrines and pop them but then get overwhelmed and they don't drop loot the goblins.. :( Do I keep the shrine for when I failed?

This is not possible for casual players.
Why? Access to augmented gear is limited for players who don't use 24/7 bots.
Why quit at 150? You don't explain the reason for this suggestion. Otherwise great video.

I’ve gotten 2 petrified screams so far. Paragon 650. Waiting for my buddies to catch-up before we try it. I’m guessing my sentry DH is going to do well in this though
Marauder Sentry DH is the only build in the S Tier on Maxroll for this game mode, so yeah I'd say you're going to enjoy yourself.
I did a 130 at paragon 500-something, it gave me 50 paragons of XP.
Damn, I just got the petrified scream, I'm not ready yet, I don't even have a primal yet 🙃 😫
Does going above 150 increase the XP earned?

Unlike everywhere else, where hovering cursor over the pylon reveals the type, in Echoing Nightmares that ain’t happening for me.
They all LOOK the same.
I could easily get 140 to 150 if I only could tell what pylon I’m clicking.

Now I'm missing some very crucial gameplay aspect here. I've been running Inna's and would love to have Cyclone Strike but it overrides Mystic Allies and vice versa, so I'm forced to have only one of them.
Just need to find me Inna's Belt so I can ditch the staff and equip the legendary that procs Cyclone on Tempest Rush.
Is it a PC specific feature to have freely chosen skills (I'm on Switch) or am I actually missing something here?

I am a very casual player, and followed raxx levelling guide and gambling instructions and am t7 rifting with relative ease. Still learning how to play the build while farming but, it's been fun, fast and easy.

this is a neat qol, havnt played ni a while, so can you no longer use gems to augment and have to use these instead?
1500p and all gems around 110 and still almost died. This is one of the top players in diablo. And I'm hardcore. I have about 10 PSs and no way I'm gonna try this. Maybe once I get to p1500 and have a backup character in case I die in HC.
Thanks for this, got 15 more waves after trying - it was a lot less frenetic. A bit more practice (cos I'm a filthy casual) and I'll get there.
