Artillery is the greatest thing to be added to this game. The hilarity and terror of seeing the 5 people in line formation vaporizing into a fine mist is a sight
2:30 For those curious, that's actually a bedroll, not a tire. A lot of the time, soldiers in professional armies during the early 18th century and onwards up until the mid-late 19th century didn't have the space in their issued rucksacks to store their bedrolls while on march, and would instead tie them together and wear them like a sash so they didn't have to carry them with their arms. This was mostly seen on the French troops of the 18th century. However, the British, Prussian, and Russian armies were shown to use that concept to some extent as well.
American soldiers did it too, although it was more common with Confederate soldiers, since they sometimes lacked proper rucksacks. The bedroll could be used to store some personal belongings
”You don’t think my voice would ruin the immersion a bit you know?” Womble: *cuts to people yelling penis at each other and playing Rossini through a soundboard* ”I don’t think you quite understand this game” yep it’s official, this is in the top 5 of my personal favorite bullshittery-episodes ever.

I thought this as well when I noticed that the heads and guns of the soldiers were moving behind AND IN FRONT of the text, serious layering work, very high quality
For those wondering, this is, without exaggeration, what a normal game of Holdfast looks like. I’ll never forget the time my allies and I stormed a church filled with enemies. As we began to clear each area, I heard an Italian-American voice yell, “hey! I’m repentin’ here!” before a gunshot sounded out and a refined British voice replied, “repent harder.” Legitimately had to stop to get my laughter out after that.

Artillery's interesting in that game, from what I've watched via streams. A skilled artillery team can rip big holes in enemy lines and tip the balance single-handedly. I've seen a rocket hit take out like 15 guys at once because they were all clumped and the rocket landed right in the middle.
