I hope you all enjoy this one and if you fancy a copy they're available to buy on our online shop!
So far, the reviews of this are how pretty the records look. NO ONE has thrown it on their turntable and given a review of the sound. We know it looks cool, because we all saw the pictures. Play it FFS.
Hah I know it’s crazy. One popular reviewer actually said ‘probably won’t ever spin it…’ lol. Dropping £70 for a record you’ll never play?!? What’s the point? Be nice to have the cash to do throw away …. Crazy
Im in the USA I bought a 1973 UK A/3 B/3 copy I guess 3rd pressing of Pink Floyd Dark Side. I ordered it from someone in the UK so the shipping was more. I watched a video of a record store owner compare a lot of versions of the album and he said this 1973 UK A/3 B/3 pressing was one of the best sounding. It sounds great. This album was recorded extremely well the bass is heavy with a lot of dynamics the album has a lot of quiet versus loud parts on the album. This pressing i got is very full and loud meaning its louder than most records at the same volume setting on the audio equipment. It definitely cost more than a new pressing but worth it.
Outstanding review Sol. Many thanks. I'm expecting my copy from Amazon on Friday.
Great way to support independent record shops 👍🏼

Unfortunately, where I live, there are no Independent Record Stores. So I do with the best I can. Believe me, I will make my yearly travel for Record Store Day.
How does it sound!?!?!?!
Lol it doesn't seem to matter anymore . UV art on one side of the disc you'll never see whilst it's playing is obviously the draw here. What a shame
Stunning! I may get it, depending on the price dropping later on.
Excellent record great video and knowledge too!
if this was in the boxset, it would have made it that much worth it
The records are supposed to be UV(Ultra Violet) printed. What do they look like under a blacklight?
Got mine 2 weeks ago what a GEM. I dont want to open it , damn it I have to .
Thanks for the review, I’m still waiting for mine to arrive in the post.
Got this. Its a beautiful thing. This is a great month. Pink floyds masterpiece and Melanie Safkas masterpiece from 1973 "" Stoneground words " pink vinyl coming out this month too. Im in heaven. I got to see Dark Side tour in 73 at Jacksonville FL. Saw Melanie in 1970 in Atlanta just after her debut at Woodstock69. Thanks for this review, i enjoyed it much. Maybe you could review Melanie's new review too?
I don’t need this, don’t need it at all. However I didn’t need the immersion boxset or the quadraphonic version or the MOFI copy or the three CD copies so it’s quite possible I’ll end up buying it.
😅👍🏼
When I first saw this I said hell no. I preordered two copies. US and EU version.
@@tiborosz1825 😄
thank you
The vinyl looks wonderful, although they really are milking these anniversary LP releases. Guess many original Pink Floyd fans of a certain age have a few Bob to spare to take them back to their youth.
Hello everyone, can anyone tell me what the Jeanne edition actually sounds like? I already realized that it’s beautiful
So back in the day, 1960s, 70s, maybe 80s, BLACK vinyl was indeed the best sound (or lets the say the one with least surface noice rather). While originally vinyl is indeed clear, the black colour used included graphite or something similar which had a kinda "lubricating" effect. As this was not the case for any colour or clear vinyl, black vinyl was considered a little superb in terms of sound quality. Today howeverthere's lubricating additives used in pretty much any colour of vinyl so that there really isn't a difference between black, blue, yellow, pink or green vinyl. HOWEVER there aren't as many additives available for clear vinyl as most of them are kinda changing the vinyls look into something "milky" or "cloudy" or something like that. This has raised the debate whether clear vinyl is in fact "the inferior one". However, in reality it mostly comes down to the pressing quality in general and the quality control: It is no problem to make any colour of vinyl aswell as transparent or clear vinyl sound very good. Companies just fail to properly do so with clear vinyl more often than they do with black vinyl.
my copy is on the way.......;-}
Wonder how many were pressed as it is a Limited Edition.. Did you listen to it? Sound as good as 2016 pressing?
have 2 copys of it
Pressing details? Is it quiet, was it flat? Who mastered it? Is it the same metal work as the 2016? Cheers
It is same version as used for the 2023 50th Anniversary.
Clicks and pops
More intrested in how it sounds compared to other issues.
