exactly!

Mercades, BMW, Volkswagen/ Audi Have forgotten that.

That’s well said 🥂
As a new Lexus owner, I can't see myself buying anything else. That's the kind of company I want to support for as long as possible. There's a Lexus for everyone.
True
That sounds like good marketing "there's a lexus for everyone"
Most Toyota or Lexus customers are like me - not necessarily car enthusiasts, primary function of a car for us is transportation. We don't care about CVTs or 0-60 time ( speed limits everywhere) or revving to the redline. A comfortable quiet ride, reliable engine and good build quality are top of our requirements. Lexus and Toyota do all this and are reasonably priced - that's why they're one of the top selling car manufacturers year after year.
This is where the buyer demographics diverge...Lexus/Toyota buyers want longevity, German car owners want tech and sporty driving. Toyota is still great for their cause, but the Germans aren't doing bad either for what they offer.
Not me , I’m all about the performance and Lexus gives me that
Ihuoma0
And you also like to marry the most plain looking and boring girl so that she will be faithful and reliable for life
:))
@@TheGecko213 i think you mean beautiful ,classy , faithful AND reliable :D
@Ryan Sharston This is obvious however the German fanboys like to talk up their vehicles because they it hurts because Lexus makes the finest vehicles in the world which you can hammer and enjoy for decades without falling apart...
#9: No extensive use of cheap plastics for critical engine components (I am looking at you, BMW...).
Great video, Mark.
Thanks a lot. Have an awesome day.
KIA uses cheap plastic too

I purchased my first Lexus ever, this year! Forever Lexus for me!
@Erick Dietrich no way!
@Erick Dietrich don't assume anything is reliable until it's out 5-10 years. Then from there look at customer reviews, recalls, engine/transmission failures, ect
@Tameka I hope you still are enjoying the car. I’m on my 2nd Lexus now. I went from a slow ass 2014 IS250 to a 2017 RC-F. It’s not the fastest v8 out there but it ain’t no basic Lexus either lol. I’ve been cut off too many times in the IS250. It’s my turn to have fun now.
Forever Lexus for me too!
You re hooked
Same here.
I got 2 Lexuses..I got a 1998 es 300 with 340000 miles still going strong baby!!!
2001 LEXUS ES300 still running like a champ 173k miles
You mean 2 Lexi?
I don't know why some people say that the car is slow. what do you mean by slow? for racing? yeah of course. who would wanna buy an SUV if their propose was to race?!!! If you live in the United States, no car is slow if it can go up to 80 mph, because anything above that means a ticket!!! Unless you live in Germany and planning to take the Auto Bahn to work everyday, that would be another story. I'm also 100% positive that this "slow" car can do at least 120 mph, I don't think you'd need more than that unless you were immature.
That’s fair David and for many that is perfect. I have never been one to seek a car for it’s top speed but to me everything is about how quick it accelerates. That’s what is exciting.
@@ECPP oh ok! I misunderstood. and I wasn't picking on you btw in my comment, I was picking on other commenters :) well, I learn something new each time I watch one of your videos. thank you sir.
You are right! Saying Lexus cars are slow and boring is ridiculous! My wife's Lexus GX has a v8 with 300hp! The thing is as quick as my 2017 bmw 535 with 300hp. The difference is that bmw is always in the shop while the Lexus just goes and goes!
I agree totally, just picked up a 2008 RX350 , this is a 12 year old SUV weighing in at over 4000lbs and still does 0-60 in 6.7 which imo is plenty fast for a small suv or any car in that class.
@Matthew Aniston LOL it's fair to call me that after reading my comment. Just for the record I've done 160 mph in a 65 limit zone, on more than one occasion, when I had my 745. But now I kind of grew up a little and it's just not worth a ticket or an accident for me. again if my car can do 80 or 90 mph, comfortably, I don't think I'd need any more. I have a 2013 Camry now and I'm good with it :).
We've owned a Lexus in the family for 21 years. No mechanical issue with the LS400. The engine was still as smooth and reliable as the day we bought it.
amazing choice, the LS400 is an all time great
@@nmnnmtoto A very nice car indeed. I think about it even today, loved driving that car. The engine and gearbox was silky smooth and the seats were so comfortable. It was also utterly reliable. Very blessed to have the pleasure of driving it.
Just purchased my first ever Lexus yesterday. A 2022 ES300 H and I am still to the moon excited about this car. I traded in my 2015 Mercedes C class and I honestly didn't expect a Lexus to be smoother and quieter, and it is! A comfy cruiser is all I want, I don't need performance, just reliability.
I traded my BMW and Mercedes in 2000. I'm on my 7th Lexus. 4 sedans, 3 Rx350. It's a very reliable car not " look at me I drive a Benz. " I'm 87 years old and will drive a Lexus until the very end . Intelligent Luxury!!
From someone who still happily drives a 2000 LS400 everyday, I can honestly give this video a thumbs up. Built to last.
no manufacturer makes a perfect vehicle, but Toyota/Lexus is as close as you’re gonna get.
True to that
Only a Toyota built in Japan. Lately Toyota has came to America and went downhill. Maybe Mazda can fix this problem
to say Toyota has gone “downhill” with their North American production is a bit hyperbolic but do agree vehicles made in Japan seem 2 have better quality.
Are you insane? Lexus has never beaten the Germans in car sales. Never! Why?
the Germans make nice vehicles with great suspensions and a boatload of gadgets. this is what sells their vehicles. these buyers put those things above reliability.
Scotty Kilmer will be proud :)
Proud when they depreciate because he's too cheap to buy them brand new
Lmfao
and also approved this video.
@Matthew Aniston He keeps saying, he's cheap himself, and never bought a new car ever, which is like a lot of mechanics. Why he doesn't splurge for a Lexus or Land Cruiser, IDK, his grand kids will reap that YT money.
@Matthew Aniston he’s a cheap ass biased old fart. He only thinks Toyota and Honda are good, and they are, but there are other good manufacturers out there.
Lexus and Toyota make the most reliable CAR; Period.
Very true statement right there...

You like reliable appliances . Good for you . Some of us are car enthusiasts and appliances don’t cut with us for driving pleasure .
Lexus is a Luxury Appliance . Like buying Samsung washer vs GE washer .😃
I also had a Corolla for 9 years in a earlier life - got me through my college years and more. Not an exciting or fun car by any means but reliable as heck. I ended up trading it for a new Acura Integra in 2000! I did nothing but oil changes the whole time I had it.
A bmw 15year more power vs a Corolla 15 year No power . That the diferent if toyota want to make me faster their no longer reliable Xd
I have no time for car issues thats why i drive a lexus LS V8 and I can keep it for 10 years. No1 NVH and always starts up every morning even in harsh conditions in Australia.
LS V8 is comfortable, smooth and good power
And that's why they really hold their value as well, I've always wanted to pick up a used LS, what kind of gas mileage do you get in the LS 460?
@@nicholasbabeaux2052 8L/100km highway but in city around the 12/100km
@@tony34star Thats pretty damn good, so if i did 50/50 probably like 10l/100km so 24-25mpg
I remember this dude has this 1990 LS. It was damn there rusted out. Had like 360k miles on it. He would never get rid of it. Certain things broke, but never the engine or transmission.
I just bought a 2013 ES 350 with only 30k well-cared-for miles on it. After two weeks driving it, I have zero regrets. Everything from the engine, transmission, suspension, styling... it's just a pleasure to drive. I'll definitely buy another Lexus after this one wears out... so maybe in 2040.
how much did you pay for it ?
I'm personally a big Lexus fan, you look what they've achieved in the relatively short period of time - to be rivalling the more establishhed Germanic brands with comfort, formidable reliability and build quality. I think it appeals to the intrinsic Japanese nature of attention to detail. Think, without them we'd never have seen these cars? The world would be a very poorer place.
I Understand what your saying, worked for a japanese company for over 25 years, spent time in japan, they have a really good work ethic. Very proud of what they produce and always work to prefect it. Also very loyal to their companies.
Nice
I know it’s a stereotype, but Japanese companies and workers really can’t bear the shame to hear complaints about their products, so they will do their best in all things.
Definitely a stereotype since there are plenty of bad Japanese car companies. Honda and Toyota are great, the rest are average and below average.
They are killed if they mess up
That's why Toyota, Honda, Subaru cars/SUV's are made in the USA. Give me a break! Hardly any Japanese vehicle is still made in Japan!
@Brenton L The Japanese are a unique culture. They build things well, by copying other designs and mimicking the features; usually invented and found on European luxury cars. I have no respect for their method of doing business. I can care less about the pride they have in something that is "never original". Lexus is for those who value durability over style, performance, panache, innovation, handling, braking etc. Buy a Lexus to get a Japanese version of a Mercedes/BMW, then keep it 25 years and be completely out of date with the latest technology moving forward. People will be flying around in the air, in BMW's powered by water or solar power, while Lexus owners will be driving the broken streets below them in 25 yr old cars with 250,000 miles on them. lol
@@23Piccolina lol!!!!

A while ago I started looking for a new car. My wife said it had to have four doors, leather seats and able to fit a pram--the rest was up to me. I naturally suggested an E60 M5 and that's when I started watching your channel. After doing some more research I ended up buying a Lexus ISF. I had no idea Lexus made cars like this--great fun.

You're preaching to the quire my friend...A proud 2014 Lexus IS350 owner here and I also used to own a 1990 Lexus LS 400...Simply the Best cars in the World.
I must say as an Acura fan, I really love and respect how much dedication, care and quality Lexus (and even Yamaha) puts into each and every product down to the very engine. Acura/Honda has been slowly slipping in quality and reliability since the early 2000s (Still pretty reliable to this day; don’t get me wrong). I’m one of the limited amount of owners who tend to actually look into keeping the cars I finance. But honestly ever since the LFA ended production, I’ve been looking into buying a Lexus for quite some time. I guess I’m just getting tired of ‘throwaway’ culture.
I had my ‘16 RAV4 for 4 years and only had it at the dealer for regular service. Never gave me a problem in 60,000 miles. Just leased the ‘20 NX F sport 6 months ago. I love that I don’t have to waste time at the dealer or use a loaner car like the Jaguar. I can’t imagine owning anything but a Toyota/Lexus. I could see myself as a customer for life!
Same here,I thought about Audi but....I thought the amount of time I spend on the road per year and the GS gas given me ZERO problems and I mean zero!
I spend more money on tyres & brake pads than on repairs.
BMW could only dream of that level of reliability.
BMW is garbage. I could have 10mill in the bank and still wouldn't buy one.

You are very welcome and you are right, it’s easy to talk about stats but what is the long term and ownership issues, costs, financial implications, etc of these great performance and luxury cars.
Another thing Lexus and Toyota have is excellent service departments! Consumer Reports rated them 1 & 2 best dealership service department!

LEXUS: Relentless Pursuit Of Perfection
I can’t believe he didn’t mention the RX number one selling car in their lineup for many years
As much as I love Mercedes and BMW I ended up buying the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid and that was because of the reliability and build quality of this suv. It might not be as exciting as the German makes but I can live with that and 20 years down the it will still be running as good as the day I purchased it.
And made in Japan is most important.
Yup! I just bought a new Camry as a second vehicle. I found one of those 2% of Camrys sold in America that is actually built in Japan rather than Kentucky USA.

Great video. As to the "boring performance cars" from Lexus (which you addressed beautifully with the LC500).....we own two Lexus vehicles: I drive a 2015 GS350; the wife drives a 2015 RX350. I've owned a Corvette, three Porsches, and other performance cars over the years.....and I'd put my GS350 up against any of them. It's a well mannered, high powered rocket with superb fit and finish. Truly a luxury performance sedan that takes a back seat to NO one.
The GS is great and I absolutely adore the LC500
Love my 2010 Lexus ISF in obsidian black. Only 50k km and no problems whatsoever!! Coming to you from Australia! Cheers for finally praising Lexus
Cheers and great to hear from you. That sounds like a stunning car. I love the ISF as it’s a real drivers car, great choice.
Me too mate. 2009 ISF in black, 87k km. Best car and very rare in Australia. Only 7 available on Car Sales right now.
Certainly is mate. Just checked Carsales.com and only 4 now! These things sell like hot cakes. Well worth it too with the bulletproof 2UR GSE engine

The older Lexus LS460, I read that a technician uses a stethoscope on the 4.6L V8 engine while it's running listening for any defects before putting them in the vehicle. Now that is attention to detail.................
I changed my i8 for a LC 500h! I am getting a new LS 500h soon. Reliability is the factor that keeps the value up in the long run, keeping cost down.
They are great cars. Did you consider the straight up V8 in that LC?
I know Lexus IS reliable car but fast like German car NAh
ExoticCar PlayPlace no not really. The hybrid is the way to go for long term ownership and it’s fast enough for my use. If I only had the car for a day(testing) with a full tank I’ll go for the V8! But when you have to buy, own and operate ... you think different.
Klaus Nielsen well bmw. X5 45e is hibri and even faster and more luxury then rx
Julio Huang it is! I am not considering the RX but the LS. The new X5 45e is a very interesting car on a lease.
Great video mark, thanks.

Thank you for this video as I'm a long time BMW owner who is sick of reliability issues. Plus, in Australia almost every set of lights has camera's so it's difficult to enjoy performance cars. I'm selling my 3 BMW'S and moving to Lexus. Thanks mate.
I hear ya.
I own a 2011 Lexus ES350 since April 2018. Financed it at 87k miles. It has been over 2 years now and currently I am at 192k miles, drove it for 105k miles and all this time, I never had any issues with it, only tires, rotors and brake pads have been replaced and car still runs like new. I believe every word this guy said. It was my first Lexus I drove and I am obsessed with this car. I can’t think of any other luxury brand for such an inexpensive price. Lexus wins the game in every aspect. You can’t go wrong with buying a Lexus. I have someone who is buying it next month and I am already in the market for a newer Lexus model. I do own a 2014 Mercedes C250, but I much prefer driving Lexus, because it is way smoother than my C250.
No doubt the only car I drive since 2003. The king of reliability and smoothness😀
LEXUS IS UNBELIEVABLE...Nice Reliable Machines.

So true! Lexus remains a super reliable vehicle. I own a 2009 IS250 so it’s only weakness is the carbon buildup , but I walnut blasted it for like $400 and its good as new. That would be the only Achilles heal I can think of with my car.
Good morning Mark, great and honest video, and that's why I'm having a hard time deciding on a new vehicle, Lexus' may not have the turbo etc like BMW but still make a great product 👍
Good morning Scott. I hear you on the decision, it can be difficult. The Lexus cars certainly have a strong focus on quality and attention to detail and the cars like BMW and Porsche are more performance and reliability secondary. The question to be asked is how tolerant a person is go maintenance issues. I know for me, performance still trumps all else because I really do believe that life is too short to drive boring cars. The ISF was a fantastic car as wa
S the LFA and even the LC500 is wonderful as shown in the video.
Realistically I’ve never needed to go 100+ mph,
And been in a place to safely need MORE power than my ES 330 has
I think the power is smooth and competent
I Love Lexus, thank u for this video 😍❤

Lexus and Toyota are just the best!!! No doubts
Thanks they are reliable and a couple cars are really fun the drive like the LC500 and RCs
Man thank you for making a video to let people know the truth by getting peoples attention via video and sound!! Lexus is absolutely the best automobile brand in the world for multiple reasons, so many that it overshadows the Germans! Yea Rolls Royce is what people think of as “ultimate luxury” the best of luxury cars simply because of the high price! People think high price=better product and unfortunately this mindset has been created by all of the marketing that control our lives! Yes Rolls has nice materials and is unique and hand built but it isn’t worth the $500,000 price tag that will be at the dealer constantly! That is how these cars are designed, to need lots of maintenance and services. They just aren’t reliable! Lexus is without a doubt the most reliable automobiles! A used Lexus is a commodity and hidden truth!
Thank you for supporting
Best reliability cars Lexus and Toyota. My lexus ls430 has 325,000 miles orginal engine and transmission original alternator and starter. Just regular maintenance. The guy is exactly correct why fix something that works good. Don't make drastic changes in their cars.
I bought an older used Lexus off the street and I don’t think I’m switching brands any time soon. Absolutely love it. Even though it’s an 06, it drives so smooth I can’t even tell it’s on. When I do upgrade, I will do what I can to get one of the newer joints. 👌🏽
Luxury, safety, sport and reliability what more can you ask for 👍👍👍
Nice
Can’t disagree here. This is reliability that even buying a 10 years old Accord at 51k miles, and it’s going solid at 78k. It never went to garage other than normal oil change or brake pads. To me reliability is top priority as I hate to be stranded on motorway. So no surprise breakdowns or expensive repair bills. That’s keep me rich.
Cheers
Reliability and Performance are inversely proportional . Both do not go hand in hand . You want a reliable appliance , buy Lexus . You want performance, buy BMW .
You want to date a farm girl or you want to date a Model .
Life is too short to drive an appliance or date a farm girl .

Appears that Lexus listens to its customers and it reflects on their reliable and quality products. If the German car makers listened to their customers concerns about unreliability their cars would last longer.
