Wow. This was POWERFUL. I’m sorry I’m just now seeing this! I’ve been a Flynn Fan for a while now and have always appreciated his candidness. My family was introduced to the enneagram several years ago and it has transformed the way we understand ourselves and appreciate / interaction with other people. As an enneagram 9 who does a lot to stay emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthy, my 3 growth mode can totally relate to Pat’s journey in many ways (particularly as an author and content creator myself). Thank you guys for this very transformative episode.

How lovely to listen to the 3 of you and Pat openly exploring his own type...

Anthony thank you for what you shared in your progress to perform to give not just get. It is true our identity as music performers will always have attachments to other people's praise and attention. However to lean into this attitude of performing music for the purpose of giving to others instead of getting for ourselves is so liberating. Thanks, Anthony, for speaking up. It was meant for me on this special day.

More of this! It went straight to the heart of what its like to be a 3 (I imagine - since I am not a 3). I will be sharing this segment to the 3s in my life.

Wow! I’ve gone back and forth between a 3 and 7. I was leaning towards 7 but this podcast hit many of my buttons! His honesty and openness was very helpful.

This podcast was brilliant! I always enjoy listening to help me gain insight and self-awareness in my journey towards a new story... Ian, I just ordered your newest book and can't wait to read it. But in the meantime -- I love how you 3 were all so deeply vulnerable and honest about how to find self-worth and value, apart from accomplishment. Pat, good for you in trying therapy -- I've been most recently doing IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy and have found a gentle way to find a pathway away from grief and shame -- and move towards a new story through this excellent theraputic framework, just saying. I'll be praying for you - and I signed up for you podcast online too!... This show gave me hope as a 4w3 that I don't have to lean on that wing for value or being seen, but rather meditation (as Anthony so poignantly pointed out) and contemplation with God can fill that instead. I'm doing the post-it note exercise: Old Story vs. New Story and the Journal exercises: 1)What's the new story about now that it's not tied to what I've done? 2) What are the features of my new story? 3) Who do I want to become? 4) How will I align all my values to become the person with a new story? Thank you SO much!! LOVE THIS!! xoxo
