    This is the time of the year to have your sinuses drive you crazy. Just get some rest. I’ve found it is best just to sleep when you are sick, because you are not miserable when you are asleep.
    Nice work getting the wheels and tires “sized down” for the 1/32 scale build. With the chrome paint, I have found that masking works really well. I have Tamiya tape and Meng tape. Both of them are very nice to use.
    The isopropyl alcohol is great to use to clean up mistakes with the chrome paint. I was using 90%, but a friend advised me to switch to 99%. So I bought some from Amazon, and I had to buy a gallon. So now I have a lifetime supply.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Great video Matthew! Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Tis' the season for allergies and sinus infections. Your little Mustang is looking great so far. I gave up on foil wrap a long time ago. I accepted that I lack the skill to use it. For me, it's much easier to paint the trim with a lot of masking and patience. My dad taught me the toothpick painting technique when I was a kid. He did a lot of HO scale builds. I really like the tires and rims you printed and your take on painting them is top notch. I'm sure a lot of less experienced builders don't know the techniques to using Mr Surfacer, (my personal favorite) as both a primer and tire "paint". The Mr Surfacer 1500 gives a very smooth finish as a primer so 99% of the time I never need to light sand between priming and the actual finished painting. Also, big thanks for showing the proper way to use the Green Stuff World chrome. I wish someone had shown me that a few years ago when I first started using it. By the way, my Hobby Nut order is arriving today, 2 days ahead of the estimated ETA. Feel better my friend. 👍👍

    Awesome video !! No apologies for your camera, your build video's are made at all kinds of angles, so it will need to focus. BUT! That's why you are the top model builder on YT ! In my opinion any way. Working, even building models being sick sucks! Thanks Matthew!

    Especially for belt moldings, I've had really great results with kitchen foil. A good foil adhesive such as that used for gold leafing or Bare Metal Foil Adhesive from Microscale works well. Before trimming it can be polished with mag polish, etc.

    Persistence pays off! And if you think MCW Paints are really nice, which they are, you should see what Gia Notes from Japan can do. Sadly, they are rather difficult to get here in the US, but they bring your modeling projects up to a professional level. If only there was a way to more easily obtain them. Happy modeling anyway!

    Mustang is coming out great Matt. I too use alcohol to remove Molotow and Sharpie mistakes. The 3D printed cragar mags and tires look outstanding. Thanks for sharing and feel better. In had the same sinus issue last month. Enjoy your weekend.

    You may want to try rounding off the end of the pointy toothpick. That way the bubble of paint stays at the end of the pick.

    Hope you feel better soon! Spring colds and allergies just suck! Try putting some baby powder in your gloves to absorb moisture. I feel your struggles with BMF!

    Yes get well, The video on the tires and wheels look great! Answered a question on Chrome Airbrushing as well. The paint on the car must be pretty hard and resilient to handling. thanks great vid!

    This kit is coming together nicely - smaller scale kits present some interesting challenges, don't they? Within the last couple of years I've been using a silver Sharpie to do my chrome trim and that has worked well for me. I haven't found a replacement for it yet, so for my last project, which is the smallest car I have ever built (43rd scale E-Type Jag) I had to go "old school" and use silver paint and a fine brush. It wasn't the best but I can live with the end result.

    Hi Mathew.. Love your 3d parts. great service too. If you get around to printing Mopar wheels could you do them in 15"s. i would buy several.. that little mustang looks great. I like that scale.

    You might have old or the bad batch of BMF. The new stuff which have the adhesive issues solved, comes in a zip lock bag. And white package is booklet. That stuff will stick well. I have all ready foiled 2 cars with their fixed stuff. And be sure to use the "New Improved!! Chrome". That is the most chromiest foil.

    Never liked Molatov.The pen I got looked good on the first things I tried them on but a few months later I used it and it looked like old Testors chrome silver paint . Glad it works for you. I'd be interested in those 1/32 wheels and tires if you are going to sell them.

    Matthew I use a mechanical pencil for using molotwl chrome pen when hand painting the lead in the pencil is small enough for fine detailing.

    If you polished the body, you should wash it off with mild dish soap, then try the bmf.

    Hey awesome job !!! Just quick question I’m working on a 70 roadrunner and bought a set of iceman slot wheels and tires. Do you know what the best way of mounting them on a revel kit would be ?

    • @modelcarvideos5829
      @modelcarvideos5829  2 місяці тому

      Since most 3d printed wheels are kinda universal you may need to cut a small piece of round styrene to us as an adapter and super glue the wheels to that.

    • @markporcile6404
      @markporcile6404 2 місяці тому

      @@modelcarvideos5829 sounds great 👍🏻! I’m going to give that a try. I appreciate the response. This is only my second model and it’s amazing how quickly you learn to improve the craft. I’m going to give that a shot see how it turns out. My only fear is making sure they are absolutely center so there isn’t any hobble while the model is sitting on display.

    Have you ever tried the Zoet chrome pens? I think they’re even better than the Molotow ones

    • @charlesbecker9617
      @charlesbecker9617 2 місяці тому

      Where can you get those chrome pens? Always had decent results with the Molotow chrome pens. But the 1mm pens are just too erratic. I mask around the trim, carefully. And use the 2 mm pen. Works pretty well, but sometimes it still needs a little touch up on the paint, if the masking tape isn't securely attached..

    • @stevenbongiorno9277
      @stevenbongiorno9277 2 місяці тому

      @@charlesbecker9617 Amazon sells them in a set of 3 different sizes, for the same price as the Molotow single pen
