Nice 3D printing Matt, I can see how having the funds, resources and print files that this would be great in creating your own custom parts 😊

It's amazing how far 3d printing has advanced in the last ten years. I do wish that more would be on offer for my favorite scales, 1/12th & 1/8th.
This is a great video. Learned a lot with it.

Anybody that 3d prints has the capability of also doing 1/12 and 1/8 parts. It's only a matter of upscaling the items.

When I'm using super glue i prefer the ones that don't set immediately. A couple secs can make a HUGE difference fitting the parts together.

Thanks for sharing that Matthew. You've shown 3D printed parts are simple to remove from their supports and even easier to assemble. And you're right, I'd be lost without toothpicks and q-tips when I build. Another helpful item I've found to have around is Elmer's all purpose white glue. I can assemble, kinda like dry fitting, whole sub assemblies to make sure everything fits and looks right. When you're happy with the results you can break them apart easily and the glue just rolls off with your fingers leaving no residue. 👍👍

I do the same with the Elmer's glue. Yea, you have to wait for it to dry but at least I know what fits good and what needs work before commiting to gluing it together permanently.

Great tutorial! I cut the parts supports @ the sacrificial base, then trim the supports from the parts themselves. Works for me. I found if you drill or cut a part, it should be done @ 90ºs to the part, otherwise, it's a very good chance the part will be damaged.

Good video. Anyone considering using 3d printed parts definitely needs to invest in decent sanding boards. To me, the Infini you are using are the best investment. Everyone needs to understand the positives and negatives with 3d printed stuff. You do a good job pointing out some of the caveats.

Thanks for the great video! I have been interested in getting into 3D printing but haven't taken that leap yet. I have been putting engines into AMT's Craftsman Plus series vehicles and I have exhausted my stash supply of engines and have been relying on Ebay for my source parts for these builds but if I could print what I needed that would be so much better. thanks again for another great video!

  • @horsepower711

Matt, if you take a little of the UV resin in the gap on the sides where you have some gaps you can flow it into place and let it self level the hit with the blue light and if you need to use a small sharp edge file or folded sandpaper to clean it up and no one will be the wiser. (if they haven't seen the video anyway😉)

When your done stripping all the parts off, you can glue a paint stick to it & have a great back scratcher!

I know it's a little messier and takes a little longer, but 5 minute epoxy gives you an extra time to align parts like the blower.

I think you’ve probably caused Mark to run out of UV glue! 😂 The intake misplacement sold the use of UV glue. CA is great, but it grabs way too fast on resin. Peace and love.

Great video and some killer products for someone like me. I havnt put together a 3d printed/resin engine yet, very soon though! Im curious, the rim that was on the thornbird tires. Can you make a 6 lug pattern in it? 4x4 chevy is 6 lug and that one was 5 lug if im not mistaken... its very possible, i didnt see them to clearly. Thank you!
