Argh. I have a omron x3 here and the intelli/easy-cuff is doing my head in. I am not confident at all that I am getting it tight enough on my arm. Trying to pull the slack out of the cuff just results in the cuff spinning around my arm! Absolutely terrible design :( wish I had a d-ring cuff.
1) which arm should we use? The left arm seems to be always higher? 2) can we use the right arm? 3) the first reading is always higher than the 2nd & 3rd reading. Do we need to take avg of 3 readings for accuracy? 4) The fluctuation of 3 reading and left and right arm can be alot ofdifference. Eg. Taking at same time.. Left arm 160/90 then 140/85 then 130/80 Right arm 145/85 then 130/80 then 125/78… In this case how to record? Tksss
Since the left arm is closer to the heart, blood is pumping effectively, which is why the numbers are a lot higher. The right arm is also another good placement for the blood pressure cuff but not always the ideal place for pumping bc it tends to be farther from the heart so the readings are a lot different than the left arm. Most of the time I use the left arm to get readings on my patients as long as their skin is free from obstructions.
You never use your right arm. Always sit for for 5mins before readings, 2cm above elbow crease. Don't drink, don't talk and brrathe only through nose and not shallow breathing as these all drastically hang your pulse. Also night will vary to daytime, also down to how fatigued you are, your readings will always be higher at night due to the stress through the day.
"The break, the bend of your elbow here" Did you start to say brachial for brachial artery? Do you even know where the brachial artery is? Is the tube used as a guide for placing the cuff in the right position over the brachial artery?
The lady is going by the blood pressure standard before medical officials started lowering the numbers in the new guidelines in 2017 in the U.S. anyhow. The higher numbers may be accepted in the UK. I also accept these higher numbers as normal. I seen on an old blood pressure chart in the cardiologist's office that showed 130/85 was normal. But I do believe it has to do with our health as to whether we can get by with higher blood pressure or not. I've always believed that one set of blood pressure numbers don't fit everyone. I consider 130/80 high normal which is now called prehypertension to make it sound worse than it really is. So if you are healthy and don't have any bad habits having a blood pressure reading of 130/80 should be the least of your worries consider BIG PHARMA is probably lowering these numbers in the USA anyhow so they can sell more meds.
Thank you for this information. I’m 63 and when I was very ill a week ago it was 170-172. Today it’s 160 over 101. Although I know that I might need to bring it down a bit more perhaps to 140 ? At least I don’t feel so panicky now knowing that you are not expected to be 130 as you are of older age.
The drug stores here use to have the monitor that you could use in the store. It had a bench you could sit down on, but they got rid of them for some reason
I don't have to !!! I know its high as soon as I walked into the house and my girl greets me. Everything is high. The low is high and the high is very high. have a high day.
I think so because this is what am experiencing since I took my Covid vaccine, ever since then, am not getting myself, especially my head but my BP is going down yet I don’t feel comfortable with my head🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
The arrow on the cuff should align with the finger next to the pinkie.
Is it important the cuff should be very tight , less tight or more or less loose on your arm before starting the test ?
How do you set up the monitor??? I have the oxiline pressure pro x
Does it matter which arm? I always assumed left arm
I can't find the link for the recommended machines you mention at; 0.30. Does anyone know the link? I already have the 'Kinetik BPx1A', it seems ok.

You said "bare arm" but at my physician's office they put it on over my shirt. At home, I get about 10 points lower on BPs than in that office.

This is not correct 130 as the high is not correct. The high depends on your age. The older you are the higher the count will be.

Well even for younger 130 is high, it's classed high normal. Shouldn't be above or below the 90 to 120 mark
@@100PercentOS2 I have a feeling they lowered it to push more drugs for big pharma.
