@Jozelle Renia amazing! Very low maintenance and I only retighten once every 2 months. My hair is growing fast too. I love it. This was the best decision I have ever made for my hair.
Ya know I didn’t think I’d comb out Sisterlocks when I got them, but when faced with self maintenance, that’s exactly what I did. It wasn’t half as bad as I thought it would be, and I’m SUPER excited I did.
Oh wow that's great! I'm curious and I have so many questions! How long did it take? How many did you have? How long had you been loc'd? Did you retain a lot of length ?
@@keshia1390 Lol, I got them in July of 2017 and began picking them out in October of 2019. There were over 400, my consultants estimation. I didnt work on it consistently. I finished combing them out in April 2020, but I'd say it took 2.5-3 months to pick out. I colored my hair before my install, and ALL of the color broke off during take down. I was at shoulder length when I started and I ended up at armpit length after several trims. I'm planning to get traditional locs.
Sure! I also discussed the braid pattern in my FAQ video and I show it a little more. Check out that video and let me know if that was what you were looking for. If not, then I definitely can do a video showing more of the braid pattern I have left.
The biggest pro to me is less maintenance, which leads to less stress! Also the product junkie thing is so real. I only use rose water, almond oil, and essential oils on my hair. And only retwist once every 5-6 weeks and once my locs mature I’ll most likely stretch it to 2 months if I can. Wow totally different schedule than my loose natural hair. Another BIG pro is that they are absolutely gorgeous and easy to style 😍 and it’ll become even easier when my locs mature! The only cons I have deal with me starting on heat damaged hair, so that’s my fault. And the first initial shrinkage. And lint. But to me the pros super outweigh the cons.
Your hair!!!😍😍thanks for sharing your experience. I've been dancing on the sister loc line... but my hair is on the longer side and i got a big head!!! So I've been looking more towards the micro side. Thanks for all the tips!! 💜💪🏽💯
Damn, wishing I didn't do another big chop last year bc I would've had a lot of hair to start off with for microlocs! I was just so frustrated with the maintenance of my natural hair that I wanted to have a break lol. I think I'm ready to get locs soon though. I'll have to be patient but it must be so satisfying seeing the growth over the years!
The only reason I don't have microloc's is because I want to be able to wear my hair out and straighten it every once in a while. Your locs are BEAUTIFUL!
i know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
I think I want these. I love the look of an afro and the ability to do other styles on my hair but I love the low maintenance-ness of locs. I combed out my index finger tick locs last year and I'm TIRED of this fro.
I feel the same way. I am scared to make the commitment but I am even more tired of my hair and all the time it takes to keep it up. My length has stalled because I don't have time to care for my hair daily like I should. I am about to pull the trigger and do micro locs. my hair is already long and I keep it in micro twist most of the time anyway. I am not just going to start my twist and turn them into locs.
I had locs for like a year and combed them out because I put them in for the wrong reasons and wasn’t ready. Buuuut I want locs back now and I love the look of smaller locs. I think somewhere between traditional locs and micro locs. Also what’s the difference between micro locs and sister locs?
Microlocs and sisterlocs are started differently, but look very similar. Microlocs are small locs started with braids, twists, or interlocks. Sisterlocks are started by sisterlock professionals who use a trademarked technique. Hope this helps!
Are micro locs easy on the edges? I have traditional locs on the thicker side and I worry that having them will make my edges more fragile because my edges are already rather thin. They are super fragile and will go back even by wearing a scarf or bandana for a few days. Anyone can answer. I dont mind
I really like those braided loc, but do they stay braided or change 🤔 and the other questions is your hair soft or hard 🤔. I guess my fear of getting locs is how they look very dry and ruff looking. Do my braid loc has to change from braids locs to I guess regular locs.
I think you can. I assume you would keep cutting it as it gets longer. But I'm not sure if you have to wait until it's completely loc'd first. I would probably seek out a loctican to cut it if so.
I'll stick with my traditional. Takes me 30-35 minutes to retwist mg 2.5 year old 92' ish locs. I give yoh 100% for the DIY. Only way sister and microlocs make sense.
I love your locs! I was afraid to go really small so opted for regular sized micro locks. I can’t wait until my length is where you are! Please check out my microloc journey page, ima newbie to UA-cam! Thanks! And god bless!
The pros outweigh the cons. I made an appointment to get mine installed in 2 weeks. I'm excited!! 😊
🥰Yass!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

@@naturallymemarie9650 wow, I love to hear that! I’m happy for you! I’m just doing some research now & I’ll be next in line🥰

When you were showing the lint I saw a close up of the braid pattern. Can we get more footage like this ( the close up of the braid pattern). TFS

I wonder can you twist micro locks or do you have to inter lock them?

Beautiful...whats the best you moisture your hair
Thank you! I keep it pretty simple. I only use water, sometimes rose water too.
Nice video!

If I want can I keep it short

What aboyt hair dying?
Hi! I personally have never dyed my hair. But I've seen many people with small locs with beautiful and healthy dyed locs.
Was you hair Four C ? I’m four B and don’t want think looking hair. I love your thickness.
Thank you, I think I have 4a and 4b
We’re u ever able to take the lint out or do you dye to cover it
I still have it. But I don't notice it as much. I pick at the ones at the bottom sometimes, which is a HUGE no, no lol!
😍😍😍😍
