This week I thought I'd go for a little bit more gritty and emotional, so I deemed Revenge movies would be the ideal pick. Vengeance has always been a fun and exciting plot point. And within the movie world, it usually makes for an entertaining story in some shape or form. So if you're in the mood for films with characters obsessed with schemes, justice and chaos, then hopefully this vid will be right up your ally. And as technically revenge is not a genre and more of a movie theme, I thought I'd try to make the most varied as possible selection of films across all mainstream genres, such as Supernatural films and Westerns.

This is a very stylish, fun one - with a bit of fantasy: "Revenge" (2018) Directed By Coralie Fargeat. Ha!
Yeah I thought Revenge was a decent movie- think I did a review of it when it 1st came out.

Blue Ruin is a great one, I saw the devil ofc an instant classic in my books! Need to check out confessions!

Rarely anyone points out that The Crow is sort of a remake of "The Wraith". However, you would not thing that a guy who writes such dark grafik novels wears shorts and a Haweii shirt.

Vengeance (Johnny To) - about a guy who lost his momery and helps himself finding the murderes of his family with little hints he stored on photos, nice plot twists too
A Devilish Homicide aka A Bloodthirty Killer (Lee Yong-min) - sort of psycho-revenge- thriller classic from 1965, I was very surprised it being real good
Last Man on Earth (Sidney Salkow, Ubaldo B. Ragona) - first and best adaptation of "I am Legend", shifted perspective
Lucky Number Slevin (Paul McGuigan) - spiked horse race kills a family and a very weird revenge plan is being figured out
Harry Brown (Daniel Barber) - old british Marine Corps guy is pissed of with his neighbourhood after they killed his only friend left / with Micheal Cain
Get Carter (Mike Hodges) - Micheal Cain again going after a syndicate when he learns that the daughter of his brother was raped / sort of John Wick just with a less likeble killer
Irreversible (Gaspar Noe) - after Monica Belucci got raped for about 11 min in one take her friends go balistic, insanity
Sonatine (Takeshi Kitano) - when Yakuza Murakawa learns he's not wanted in his clan anymore he got really pissed of
oh, I forgot: be very careful with Gaspar Noe movies. At least his first three. He is a class of his own.

Count of Monte Cristo is a great movie. Glad you gave it a shout. Also keep an aye out for a young Henry Cavill in a supporting role.
I love sympathy for Mr Vengeance with all my heart but why that above Oldboy (or just the Vengeance trilogy?)
Well Oldboy is on every revenge list I found.. so it was a bit cliche- that and Mr Vengeance always get neglected!
True Mr vengeance is up there with Park's best work. You pumping out allot of videos man these days, very impressive! They are all great lists
i also missed oldboy. still not a well known movie compared to john wick. at least parks movie.
Just saying that this movie is about revenge is a huge SPOILER, but i think that Lucky number Slevin is great revenge movie exactly because up to a certain point you didn't even know it was about that.
Yes I guess it is a massive spoiler LOL! It's the problem with the theme rather than genre. I mean I literally spoil 50% of every movie on this list just to describe it!

Great list, though I liked sympathy for lady vengeance more, watched the 2012 remake of harakiri, also a great movie

That's debatable I can get all of them on Netflix (vpn)... Not that I watch them on netflix most of the time.
I understand why you do the netflix videos, As I'd typed before your other video are far superiour to the netflix ones the information is tops but I think I'm one of the very few who might think like that and since netflix is regionalized ans New Zealand gets crap stuff on it and I tell the bill payer thatsits a waste of money but enough of that boring shit. I wonder if there's particular reasons why "Death Wish" (with Bronson of course) and "Oldboy" wasn't on this list?

Yes they are revenge movies LOL! I like all of them- but as it's a plot point to a movie there are 100's of good films with this plot point. I was quite spoiled tbh... usually it's quite hard to pick a balanced selection.

I recommend: I Saw The Devil, as its another amazing Korean thriller /revenge movie well worth checking out.
Hell yeah- I Saw the Devil is brilliant- I just love the idea of the revenge plot twist, I just wish there were more films as creative as that one.

Whaaat ?!! i just watched I saw the devil and it's garbage, at least the end, it's not gory enough, wtf was that, he just cut his head for all he did, i expected he would cut all his members and make their family eat them, then cut his dick and sew that to his mouth, then take a horse and make the horse rape his ass day and night while his family watches it, then he should've close a rat on his stomach so the rat eats his stomach, put larvas inside the d who is sewed to his mouth so they dig inside his body, the he should've do the human centipede thing to his family with him at the end, and keep doing medieval stuff for the rest of his life or for a long time, that ending was bullsit, it wasn't enough punishment for what he DID!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭i wil go sleep f that movie:/

For that exact reason! I was expecting lots of oldboy comments, but poor Mr vengeance always gets put in the corner somewhere... so I thought meh, go for the weakest link in the trilogy.

I like your lists but this perfectly sums up why I don't tend to watch your videos even though I'm subscribed, you terribly spoil them, so I end up not watching anything you suggest.
With this video I agree 100% with you as the plot device for the film is a spoiler in itself. HOWEVER I go to great length to NOT spoil movies on all my other vids. I use RT and IMDB as reference points to see if I'm giving away too much info. So if I spoil, then they do too.

The 2002 version of The count of Monte Christo was absolute garbage. I think there has yet to be a movie or a tv show adaptation that doesn't suck.
I don't think there has been a strong one yet... it would need to be a streaming service 5-10 part show. I love this one because it's so hollywood and cheesy.
