How to catch a fresh water crayfish / lobster in Australia, Experienced Aussie redneck pete explains hoop net traps and how to lay them in a fresh water stream Victoria Australia.
The English have a similar issue with their traps. they have to worry about Otters but they've come up with the right trap that looks something like that opera house design. Two narrow entrances from either side. the legal one looks like it would let more cray out than it would catch.. it's more of a feeding pond!
Wow cool.....can u catch it without marinating the steak ? What else works i herd chicken works but becuase chicken is softer they eat it quicker and run off quicker then u realised it was in the net.... what else is good bait ?
@@shroomhealth8496 thanks for the tip brother much appreciated man..... i tried chicken necks from the butcher and never ever caught anything.....whats the rule of thumb of fishing for cray fish? If u have no luck in 25 min move to another spot because there are no crayfish in the area ?
@@jmoore9806 I always have 2-3 nets out. 30min is a good time to lift and move on if catching nothing. Don't throw too far out. Try find a flat spot near rocky areas and target that. Warburton has lots of crays. And trout are firing at the moment there too if you chuck lures
@@shroomhealth8496 LOL Warburton? Reallly ? Wow thats soo cool to hear u can fish for crayfish the close i always go find creeks past Refton area.....very curious where in Warburton? Is it at the bottom of the river that passes the main townshops in Warburton?
