      Naww спасибо, у вас такие добрые слова! Колесо представляет собой электрическое вращающееся колесо Ashford Super Jumbo из Новой Зеландии. Он содержит пряжу 1kilo, но я не думаю, что заполню его в ближайшее время.

    Great video Jo! I always enjoy seeing the process and the yarn coming together. I first spun wool as a young mum, but never really became proficient at producing the knitting yarns I wanted back then. The spinning wheel then spent a couple of decades as 'décor' before coming back into service to produce textural yarns for weaving.
    Now, I have a nagging knee injury and can't treadle the wheel, so I'm seriously considering an e-spinner. I've used up most of my stored yarn and I just can't keep up on a spindle. It's taken a fortnight to spin up 250g in singles and still needs to be dyed and plied.

      Welcome :) I would recommend something like the Ashford jumbo E-spinner not the Super Jumbo like mine if your more into spinning knitting yarns. They are quick and do really help with painful joints. You also get more bobbins and lazy kate.

      @@josparadiseofcolor Thanks Jo, I don't knit anymore. Weaving is much easier on my hands and more versatile.

      At least with the jumbo E-spinner it holds 200g of yarn and the orifice is big enough for art yarn too. But for more for your buck. If I knew this now I would of gone that instead of the super jumbo E-spinner that holds 1kilo of yarn. And only came with 1 bobbin.

    • @jirup
      @jirup 2 роки тому +1

      @@josparadiseofcolor Yeah, I think I'll go with the E-spinner 3, a 15mm orifice should meet my needs and coming with the extra bobbins and the tensioned lazy Kate is definitely a plus.

    So Beautiful Jo ❤️ & thanks very much for sharing how
    I love the way you explain finishing off of the yarn when you say you do the same at the other end I’m wondering how ? as you cut it & yet it still seems to stay coiled 🤔 how ? Mine unravels if I cut it 💜

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  2 роки тому +1

      Its in the plat at the end. I wrap right at the base of the coil on the end to fasten it so it can't move, then zig zag down then up and down then tie at the base. It's tidier and stops the twist coming out. When I cut in the middle I push the coil together till its tight and then tie a know at the base of the coil.

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  2 роки тому +1

      As for the other end on the start if its messy I will cut at the knot and then push the supercoil up till its tight and then manually repeat what I did at the base. Then trim it.

      Thanks very much Jo I have tried the pushing up knotting but still found it unraveled some but I will keep trying your explanations are so easy to understand love your videos Have a great day 🌞🌞

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise and artistry ❤
    Your videos as always, are very educational and informative. I’m so in awe of your skills.
    I’ve been wondering how to spin Rolags. So glad you posted this video.
    Think I might have to invest in a blending board now lol

      Funny thing I've owned the blending board for 6-7years and only really started to use it a couple months ago lol.

      @@nancycat2588 it took me a good 13years before I baught myself some new wheels 😳☺ when I started out I used a spindle and then an ashford traditional travelor wheel my mum gave me. But developed lower back, hip and knee issues from years of spinning on a single pedal wheel. So I saved up and baught the super jumbo E-spinner :) best thing ever! But if I was to do it again I'd go a jumbo with 2 bobbins and lazy kate. Same price as the super jumbo but that one only came with 1 bobbin! I'll never fill this bobbin ether it holds 1 kilo of yarn!

    You say you will steam them, you won't wash them? I always wash and hang dry.

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  10 місяців тому

      Washing art yarn makes them compact and lose shape unless it's a double ply or single ply slub. Core and supercoil look better steamed

    Thank you… good to watch you spinning but it might be helpful to your viewers to mention the relevance of using clockwise and anti-clockwise changes in spinning for the different methods. For me the sound of the spinning wheel is so much better that tinny music 😵‍💫

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  7 місяців тому

      Sometimes I need to put music on as I'm watching something like a movie if the spinning takes a few days to make and film and I need to speed it up abit. Otherwise I won't fit the video into a 15-20min rendered video and I get a infringement from youtube for having sound of a movie or music in background. If you don't spin clockwise then ply anti clockwise your yarn will be over spun and unworkable.
      Thank you for your comment & thank you for watching.
