  • A project I've thought of doing for a while so decided to take the plunge.
    Removed the stock analogue speedo unit and installed a digital, multi function Koso gauge.
    The video covers unboxing, wiring and setup - Enjoy.
    Special thanks to Scooty Man for his invaluable help and encouragement.

    Just want to amend one point I made in the video. If you install the optional speedo cable adapter, you do not measure the wheel size as per the main instructions. My wheel measurement was 1425mm however this produced mph readings double those the bike achieved. The reason for this is that the speedo cable adapter has to be programmed into the Koso as 714mm for accurate readings.

      Great video thanks for taking the time to do it, I’ve got mine ready to install👍🏻. So just to be clear the last part about the wheel measurement I just put in the 714 mm or so I not need to bother ??

      @@paulkavanagh2639 thanks Paul, glad you found the video useful. Yes you need to program it as 714mm, if you program in the actual wheel size the gauge will show you doing up to 60mph, which sadly is not the case 😉

    And one other question as mine at mo is standard gauge nothing added on, will I not get fuel reading or oil light if I connect wires ?

    Hi think it’s about done just a few issues can’t get the rev counter to work I’ve wired it up to the coil

      Maybe try the basic fitment and wind the wire around the spark plug ?

    I still not got this fitted lol, but I’m getting to it, just watched again mine is carb model so what do I do with the purple wire? And you mentioned a temp light as well can you explain that a bit more if possible
    Many thanks

      So basically any wire you don’t need, just tape off and leave. The original dial on the FI bike has an Led engine check light which flashes a certain number of times depending on any fault it finds. Presumably the carb bike dial doesn’t have this or something similar in which case just ignore the purple wire. I’ll need to watch my video again to pick up the reference to a “temp light”.

      @@scottishzoomer unless I miss heard ref temp light, but I know on my battery box one of those is a temp light in case engine over heats

      @@scottishzoomer and thank you for getting back to me without this video i don’t think I would bother doing it, bikes only bits at mo coz Fuel pump packed up so while I’ve been waiting for it to arrive I’ve started on all my other stuff so stretch kit handle bars etc and speedo

      @@paulkavanagh2639 glad the video is of some use. The Koso gauge is worth the effort, I’ve been very happy with mine, no issues whatever the weather does to it. Looking forward to seeing the finished bike, sounds like it’s going to be impressive.

    How do you think, it is possible carry 100 litter's backpack on this bike? I see place where stay leg's, maybe just use front footrests and backpack between them?

    • @scottishzoomer
      @scottishzoomer  4 роки тому

      Had to look up a 100 litre backpack to get the rough dimensions. If you had footpegs I don’t see why not, it’s not tall enough to interfere with the handlebars. Footpegs are cheap and easy to fit either front or rear.
