The instruction manual does mention lubricating the blade before use.

Thanks for the review. I had been searching for someone who had tried it. I was also looking at the Kobalt 24v 6 inch chainsaw as well. It’s brushless and self oiling for $20 more. I would love to see a comparison of the 2 along with the Dewalt. The Milwaukee’s price bare tool is just ridiculous now at $219!

Yeah price is sky high. This one is wallet friendly and happily does the job.

You have to apply a little oil on the chain I like that better than the automatic oilers which always leak no matter what brand because you're not doing much cutting with these saws

      Claims to be oil-free

I just got one of these and used it today. I noticed in the manual there's a diagram showing the wood being cut from the top of the saw. I also noticed that it cuts better if you cut upward this way. It doesn't jump in a choppy way like it did when you were cutting the 4x4 wood. I'm wondering if the whole blade and chain can be taken apart and flipped upside down. The pointier part of the guard at the tip would be on the bottom. Do you think that's possible? It would be more comfortable if it is.

@cetoolden It doesn't work. I got it to fit properly and reassembled. It runs, but it doesn't cut. It just gouges. I don't know if there's a solution or if I have to buy a different saw. Maybe more upper body strength?

Kobalt looks so much better! 😂
Especially when they are on sale for 119.00.

I can't say that. I will say they are equally on par with each other.
