#Colorado14ers #LongsPeak
I like this type of video. You and Sandi and 14ers, good combo. Cool that Sandi’s sister is adventuring with you guys too.
So is that route blazed or marked like the keyhole route is? I saw just one white paint mark on your vid. Not sure if I can navigate this by myself for the first time. Have done the keyhole several times, but not Meeker nor the notch. Great vid by the way.
I repeated this a couple days ago and can say it's all accurate and THE way to go up to Longs. Ticking Meeker may seem like it's not worth it once you're on the loft but it's really not that far and not difficult to get a quick tick. Making the loop down the Key Hole will make you appreciate the way you went up via the Loft.
Climbing Longs Peak makes climbing Pikes Peak walk in the park 🥵. Someone I meat on Pikes told me how Longs was super exposed..but for sure it is next on the list when I am back in CO. Great video, thanks mate!
Wonderful quality video and editing!
Dude congratulations! Glad to see you back to your normalcy. I did Longs Peak and Chasm Lake it was tough and I was hiking!
Love coming along with your mountain adventures! Glad to see you out enjoying some peak bagging!

Nice.. it looks like you had a great day! Thanks for posting and always be careful out there.
Thanks Sage, another amazing video!! :) Good to see you're getting better and better!
You guys had me holding my breath. Awesome
Thanks, Sage. Going for this one tomorrow. Definitely will study the Loft to Homestretch section.
Damn man, so good to see you back out adventuring with the core group! This is some grade-A content, keep it up!
Great video, thanks for making it. I am heading up this week. Taking a day off from work to do something awesome.
Wow!! Some freak out down hill moves there! Beautiful scenery though! Ray and Sandi should be wearing helmets too!!
Crazy! I’m so jealous! I also want such mountains in my backyard 😜👍
One of the best! Great views!!
Longs peak trail is a fun run! At least to boulder field, after that, it's not runnable but still a cool hike/scramble!
Craziest thing I did as a teenager was climb Longs Peak via Keyhole Route, the day before the 1976 Big Thompson flood. Still recognize the locations and brings back memories.
Dude! That was some cool looking mountains. That would be crazy doing it!
This was a fun video, I went to chasm lake when I was on holiday in Colorado 2018, hope I can travel to the US again soon 👍
Wowsers trousers 🤩🤩 this route looks incredible!!!! One day!
Super stuff Sage! Great video
Lovely video. You have a stunning back yard!
What a beautiful hike!! Sublime
wonderful video! it's like we are there with you. Spectacular views!
Great View from the Top! I really enjoyed this video
Choice video Sage, so lucky to have amazing nice weather, raining day & night here in NZ for about a week, have you ever been caught out with the change of weather & have had to camp up amongst the rocks
Awesome video Sage!
A sensational film again!
Gorgeous! A bit too much exposure for me personally though.
Hey man! I am a college runner posting videos. Could you check it out??
Just purchased your 5/10k training plan. Looking forward to getting going with it one healed from injury.
thanks for your support and best of luck 🙏🏼!
Beautiful scenery! Great informative video! How is your recovery going from your illness?????
Awesome video... thanks!!
awesome vid!
Amazing! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful spots!
12:37 My legs are wobbly from watching this lol 😂
Insane video🙏🙏👍👍
I've always wanted to do this!
Usually I just stick to the Flatirons though....
How would you compare the level of difficulty to the 2nd Flatiron (freeway)?
Seems like similar exposure but harder route finding and less steep the majority of the time..... obviously a lot longer too
Great video, that 360 camera really makes it look extreme on meeker
Beautiful
Just watched your more recent video of Pyramid Peak, which I am doing in a few weeks. What was more challenging, this hike or Pyramid?
Awesome video! Can I ask, how do you prepare in advance navigation-wise? Paper maps, online, watching videos like this? I've taken multiple nav classes, have backcountry experience, and still struggle to route find on basic trail runs. (Directionally challenged lol)
all of the above. I also had my COROS VERTIX 2 on a GPX track with a NAV/MAP mode on. However I had studied the route and knew the lay of the land from doing it last year. I think recognizing rock formations and landmarks in pictures is key. If you go off route at all on this kind of line you can get into some dangerous cliffs or loose rock fall very quickly. Earlier in the summer thunderstorm risk is also much, much higher so we'd start way earlier and really keep an eye on the clouds/weather...but it also means you can't waste too much time getting lost or going off route.
@@Vo2maxProductions wow, thanks so much! great tips
How did you do the pacing? Was it rather powerhiking-focused or casual running with an eye on keeping hear rate low?
Hey man! I am a college runner posting videos. Could you check it out??
We kept it moderate because we were filming and able to talk (and enjoy the hike/run). I think regular fueling is a key part of the pacing (i.e. like having a reminder to eat and drink every 20-30min or so). Since this route is fairly technical it was not really "runnable" so the only choice was to hike/climb! We knew we could make better time and be efficient if we ran most of the trail up down the first and last 3 miles though. We also had fairly light running packs on with minimal gear so we could move a bit faster (Although I had enough gear to be able to spend the night out there if I had to!). Another key that we didn't show in the video was that we had a water filter (not that it needs to be filtered up that high a lot of times but the water was pretty dirty looking). I ended up getting some extra water at a couple sources as after about 6 hours we were getting pretty thirsty and out of fluid.
Bro what you eat before running🏃💨💨🏃💨💨?
Slipping and falling to your death sounds exciting 😂😂... But seriously sage is right grip is important
Drinking game: Drink every time when Sage says "home stretch". :D
That's the name of a section of the route. Its the same as saying the loft or the ledges
Long's Peak is the only mountain that has beaten me.
margarine?? 😨😲😳
Too much exposure! Wow. Scary when u look back at camera!
Too steep for a lion. Don't know how animals ever manage to do that.
Wow, good to see you fully recovered from Pfizer shots.
