Awesome, Mike! I just planted my fall carrots about a week ago and like the idea of Agribon much more than silage tarps. I'd love to see a video going over all your irrigation and what techniques you may have for some of your main crops when it comes to what you prefer on drip/overhead and how often you're irrigating/fertigating.
Good Morning, love watching your channel, hoping I can pick up tips to help me better grow vegetables for my friends and a family. I was wondering if you could tell me where to find the irrigation sprinklers you have. Getting tired of watering by hand, lol.
Yes! These sprinklers are the easiest and cheapest thing to set up! If you check out my video about interplanting I show a little more about them. And I will make some irrigation videos soon. But they are called meganet sprinklers made by netafim. I buy them from drip depot.
Ive grown those theyre decent i prefer bolero and as the saying goes "mokum if u got em" meaning mokums are the best tasting carrots also i like how bolero and mokum hold thru the winter really well. Great work man keep going
Another way to get great germination on carrots is to cover the top of the bed with a 1/2"-1" of peat before seeding. Peat has the ability to wick up and retain moisture so it keeps the soil surface moist meaning not only do you get good germination but the carrots develop faster after germination. Works great for us on our no till farm in Maine.
hey can you talk to drip depot and get them to build a package for the mega net sprinkler you used in last video, i dont know what other parts i need besides the sprinkler head ive never built my own irrigation. another sick video full of info ty
Awesome video as usual and a great way to start the morning! I left a comment on another video, but please keep me in mind for the apprenticeship you mentioned if it comes through! Was wondering btw the dimensions of your enclosed trailer with refrigeratoon? Also maybe the best place for my first compact tractor? Take care and love the videos, still gonna make you that chefs knife!
Thank you! Sorry sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all the comments, I don’t always see them all. But if I do open an apprenticeship program it will be announced in videos with instructions to apply and I imagine it will be competitive and I will be looking for the “Right” person. Thanks for following along 🙏
@@chefsharvestfarm Thank you and will look for those videos and the possible opportunity! I am a bit competitive myself and will be up for the challenge. I will check that video out as some used enclosed trailers popped up recently and am looking at them for sale around me. Take care and keep up the content!
Do you have any tips to combat gophers? I'm growing in containers and raised beds grow bags etc. and I want to direct sow but these gophers are relentless
@@cliffpalermo I have 2 dogs and my leased property has about 10 or more 🤣 it’s hard to keep track of them all 🤦🏻♂️ maybe that’s why I don’t have gophers!
If you get your brix up to 14 or higher insects will never touch your plants. Around 8 to 10 and you will start to see less pests and at 14 or higher you will see none. When a plant get to a brix reading of 14 pests can not eat the plant.

Spray BT for caterpillars it’s organic and works wonders. Also removing your nets will allow birds to eat those caterpillars.
@@devinsullivan7233 right! But that only works if you have Bt and are prepared to spray which I was not that day… but my fingers also work wonders 👊
@user-rk5df7ke9g thanks 👊
I just use a cheap hose end sprayer for spraying BT. It works great and it fast and easy.
