Hey brother I don't mean to sound over emotional or anything but the fact that you fought for that tunnel and they gave you an exception brings a tear to my eye
Heck yeah 👊 the best advice I can give is to just walk into your county nrcs office (within the USDA building typically) and tell them you want to apply for a high tunnel grant. They should help you from there!
Thanks Cindy! I’m happy to hear your positive feedback 🙏 I felt like I was blabbing on. I almost cut half of it out. But I figured there’s gotta be someone who needs to hear the full story. I appreciate your comment. Thank you 🙏
I love your gothic style greenhouse and your method of building it. I have been trying to figure out how to do this and I’m very happy that you shared your experience. My quinsit style greenhouses always collapsed when we had some snow.
Heck yes! It all started with that one little raised bed garden! Before that I lived in an apartment. And I grew a tomato plant. I would bring the tomato plant outside and put it in my parking space while I was at work. And bring it back in at night. And I got 1 tomato 🤣
What a great way to get it together using available grants that no One knows about... 30 years ago my x and i Received about 20 grand Worth of kids playground stuff for a Park that had just SAT with nothing in it for years... doing Research can really help you
Hey Chef, how bad are the winds there? I live in TX and the wind gusts up to 20mph every day. March through May are the worse and we have seen some high gusts up to 68 mph. how does your high tunnels handle high winds?
@@steveo_o6707 my property is pretty secluded from wind. But farmers friend just came out with a new model that is heavier metal and you can add more wind bracing and definitely cement into the ground. I think I’m about to buy one of the new ones. So I’ll probably make another video about that one.
Right I did watch the whole video and you still have to pay for it before you get reimbursed... Do u have another way that might be cheaper@@chefsharvestfarm
@@pattysplace0153 I paid for it with a credit card. Then paid the credit card with the grant money. But the first step would be walk into the USDA office and talk to them. Sometimes they’ll put the money upfront if you qualify. But you need to go talk to them if you actually want to do it.

One thing I’ve learned, is it doesn’t hurt to ask! Lots of people would just accept their answer. 👊
Farmers friend is the bomb!
@@timoshi2k agreed! I just signed paperwork today to build a 5th one on this property. Thinking about getting their newer bigger model this time!

Reuse your footage of the first raised bed and first swing set greenhouse. It’s such good illustration that you HAVE to start somewhere

Heck yeah man! The NRCS has actually asked me to be on their subcommittee for the board of directors. Pretty neat opportunity 🙏

Not trying to be rude but some people don't have this kinda money
Heard that! If you watched it till the end I tell you how I didn’t even pay for it 🤷🏻♂️

I don’t have this money but I still find a lot of value in this video because I hope to do something similar one day. So glad I found this page.
