@Alexander Supertramp no they dont. Drug withdrawl almost always lasts a week. Thats right. Heroin, cocaine, meth, you feel bad for a few days when you quit it but you get back to normal fast. After that drug addicts dont physically need it they just crave it. Cocaine withdrawl probably wouldnt be worse then caffeine withdrawl for example. Fatigue, depression, back to normal in a week
Matt Dupuis withdrawals from cocaine and meth aren’t physical withdrawal symptoms in the same way heroin and benzo withdrawals are, it’s pretty much entirely mental. Meth for example is extremely neurotoxic when used the way most addicts use it (in multiple day long binges) so when you come off of it your endorphins will all be extremely low and you’ll feel absolutely fucking terrible for a while, same with coke, but that isn’t a physical withdrawal. You will physically probably feel terrible because you likely aren’t eating and sleeping well but it isn’t your bodies reaction to not having any more of the drug, it’s just how you feel once your poor health isn’t masked by a big dopamine hit. Heroin is different and it really depends on the severity of it but it can definitely last more than a week and usually lasts for months because quitting it without slowly weaning off is a terrible idea for most people, and even weaning will most of the time induce withdrawal symptoms, just far less intense than if you were to just flat out quit. Benzos like Xanax can take months for the physical withdrawal to subside even if you quit cold turkey, which can quite literally kill you. I’m really not sure what you mean by that last bit but yeah no quitting a heavy cocaine habit will absolutely be more difficult than giving up caffeine almost 100% of the time. Of course there will be outliers but cocaine is a FAR more addictive substance than caffeine. The reliance on caffeine is usually habitual and is caused by changes in your adenosine receptors whereas cocaine is literally training your brain to seek cocaine above everything else like food sex etc, because the dopamine reward is so much greater than any natural means of getting a dopamine hit. This is even more extreme with meth because I’m pretty sure it releases more dopamine than any other substance or action on earth
@@boboallin i am prescribed an amphetamine for adhd, which is not really much different from methamphetamine, same drug just different potency. I find caffeine withdrawl is harder to get through then amphetamine withdrawl. With caffeine there is more physical lethargy for me and aches and pains. Amphetamines are more mentally addictive without a doubt though
@John Hurley yes, a headache is a physical dependency sign. What's the confusion here? Caffeine is an addictive drug, like any other. The difference is that it's legal. The addiction is also not as severe as with any other drugs, but its also not as bad as some others (LSD, Mushrooms and DMT for instance have very low addictive potential).
Quitting caffeine has been one of the best decisions I've made in terms of improving my physical and also mental health. It improved my sleep and reduced my anxiety a lot.
I had the same experience. I quit for a 1-year period and my sleep quality really improved! I was a lot less anxious too especially with all the stress I'm under at work.
This is extremely interesting from the perspective of someone who has never had coffee at 30 years old, people always ask me why I don't start drinking today, but I think of it as: why would I willingly get myself addicted to a substance I don't need in order to function?
Jarrod'sTech Agreed! I’m turning 30 later this week and I’m now two weeks along caffeine free and I’m loving it! I’ve drank multiple cups/servings of caffeine a day for probably 10 years or so, not anymore!!
I quit coffee for almost 3 years now, my blood pressure was always high. Since i quit coffee, my blood pressure stayed normal. There was a side effect on quitting coffee. My anxiety went on the roof, went to ER a lot, thinking I was going to die. I fought and won. I am caffeine free for almost 3 years and 7 without smoking. We can change if we want to. Cheers, amazing channel
Valdemar Traça I don't plan on stopping drinking coffee as it helps my ADHD I've tried before and it made it that much harder for me to focus but I want to quit cigarettes what would be some great advise for quitting smoking
Tim Batchelor every organism reacts differently, but smoking 🚬 less won’t make you stop smoking. I took a year to interiorize in my mind that I had to stop smoking, before I started my non smoking journey, then after a year I just quit, smoke the last cigarette and quit. I swore on my baby ( at the time) life, that i would not smoke again. Won’t lie to you, it was really hard. And it has been 7 years. You have to believe that you can, and you have to really want to quit smoking otherwise you won’t. Hope you can
Valdemar Traça yeah I've been telling myself that for about year I have to get my wisdom tooth extracted and I know I can't smoke once I get it done I want to use that as the time I quit hopefully I can make it.
@Жанна Винтина I also quit coffee it was starting to give me severe anxiety for some reason, all you have to do when with friends or family is switch out the drinks for example I drink different kinds of teas or juices.
for a good while i only drank caffeinated coffee in the morning and any other cups were decaff, you could buy a good brand decaff coffee if you think that'd be any help
I used to drink coffee every single day and I did it for about 10 years. I loved coffee but suddenly, during this pandemic, I don't know if it is because I am moving less, but I was getting a horrible anxiety everyday and I realized it was because of caffeine. I stopped drinking coffee and it immediately helped! I haven't dunk coffee ever since and I know it was the best decision I could have taken for my health, at least for now.
Why wasn't the "social aspect" the same? You can order tea and other beverages at any coffee shop, and still sit with your coffee drinking friends, no?
I quit coffee over one year ago (heavy coffee addict and snob who even traveled around the EU for the best coffee shops) and my anxiety has gone down and i don’t get as hyped up, which suits me better. Recomending this experiment is great to find out if you’re drinking it for good reasons or not.
I get super jittery and amped up after drinking coffee sometimes and other times it makes me feel like I can accomplish anything, weird. I prefer the sober life though typically
Matt: It isn't that I'm addicted I just really miss the social events. Every smoker: It isn't that I'm addicted I just really miss the social events. Every drinker: It isn't that I'm addicted I just really miss the social events.
Haha my thoughts exactly. "i was thinking about this cup of coffee for 30 days" I feel he was really just trying to prove to himself that he was addicted. But hour 32 should have made it pretty obvious. I'm on day 4. Day 3 was pretty bad haha
Knew this video was going to be bullshit, when he partnered with the coffee aficionado guy. Coffee/caffeine doesn’t give you energy, it robs your natural energy. Moves the baseline off centre. Also it makes you less focused as the cortisol/ adrenaline coursing through your veins is suited for bursts of physical activity/gym than staying still and concentrating deep on one task. There might be something wrong here. I decided to quit coffee after a lifetime consumption. I realized I had plenty of headaches actually linked to stopping coffee (I tried several times), and figured out that if something was impacting my brain so much, there might be some negative effects. After 15 days I realized that it was much, much easier for me to get out of bed in the morning without coffee. My sleep was clearly deeper without coffee, with a better recovery. I felt more energized in the mornings but also during my days, with a much more stable energy level. After 2 months I felt globally more rested, with a higher level of mental clarity, with a clear positive impact on my work during my daily clients meetings. I tried this several times with different consumption levels (going from 4 cups a day to 0, 2 to 0, 1 to 0, experimenting over several months) : I was personally feeling the negative effects and impact on my sleep starting from 1 cup a day, this was a big surprise to me. I decided to quit. From time to time I still take one when I really need an energy boost, but I actually realized that it creates a vicious circle (the energy low after the first coffee makes you want another one), and I felt some effect on my health (my throat becomes "dry" and I actually got sick 2 times after starting again, after some times with no consumption at all). I am now trying to quit completely. People might have different tolerance levels, but I would advise anyone to experiment in this way and see what works for you. If Matt did not feel any positive benefits, you can find plenty of other UA-camrs who actually felt a big positive impact when they stopped.
@@sueannesorrentino8430 I had the same caffeine withdrawal after stopping drinking tons of tea each day. I would say exercise helped a bit with headache, and productivity will definitely dip down as your body adjusts. Based on experience, it's similar of like nofap. There might have been some benefits of doing it, but for 30 days, I didn't feel much different or benefits from it. Just enjoy your coffee, don't drink it every day if you think you're going to get addicted. Like everything else, the benefits might be over exaggerated by others .
I had to reduce myself to a half cup in the morning, simply to avoid becoming overly agitated. I seem to be really sensitive to caffeine. I noticed i just wasn't waking up feeling fresh, so a few days ago i cut out the coffee completely. I had a 24hr horrible headache, but since then i've felt generally much calmer and well rested. Can't comment on the productivity because i've done this in a holiday period. I can't believe only half a cup of coffee in the morning was still affecting my sleep so many hours later. Caffeine is supposed to have left your system after around 6 hours...
There is nothing wrong here. I think we all have different bodies & how they react with certain habits/stuff. Matt just shared his experience like you did yours. You both are right :)
Day 4 no coffee for me and it honestly has not been that bad. I’m doing it to help heal an stomach ulcer and look forward to going back to my 1 cup a day within the next month or so. I’ve realized keeping my coffee to 1 cup has been huge in not experiencing major withdrawal.
Yo Bignoknow! Big fan of your TRT journey and your channel in general. ☕ I've now quit coffee for 3 months with no withdrawals. Here's a video about it to show you how. Peace! ☕ ua-cam.com/video/ie_5b9_WikA/v-deo.html
It completely depends on your genetics it's not same for everyone I was a coffee drinker for 10 years everyday more than 4 to 5 glasses insted of cup and I never felt anything when I got out of it and now I don't even drink it.
Same, I don't think everyone gets addicted. I go through phases of 5 cups a day, then get sick if it and go a couple of months without caffeine at all, no negative effects. If anything, coffee makes me more tired. Weird.
@@encapsule2220 Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I know that's not an easy road to go down when addiction is part of your family history. Good news is that you have the choice to make it stop - the buck stops with you. Thanks for being open about your struggles and I hope that it gets easier for you.
@@garrettk7166 I understand that but being addicted to something means it's (almost) impossible for you to live without it and that means you depend on something. I don't think that's a good thing. Obviously coffee isn't that bad for you but I think it's better to be able to live without it.
@@chrisnewtownnsw how is coffee good for you when you get headaches ( a symptom of withdrawal) when you stop drinking it regularly? I'm not saying you should stop drinking coffee but being in denial about it is probably not the healthiest thing to do
Interesting how you felt no positive effects on sleep or anxiety from quitting caffeine! Those two things were the most profound things to change for me when I quit. I was able to sleep the entire night through without waking up & didn’t struggle to get out of bed
If he drinks coffee early, then it's probably not gonna affect his sleep. His tolerance is probably also high enough to not feel anxiety when drinking coffee. Only time I've ever felt anxiety on caffeine was when I took 1000mg of caffeine pills at once out of frustration; was kinda fearing for my life.
yes same for me!! i quit coffee for 5 days only and i sleep totally great as without waking up in middle of night. deep sleep also than before. BEST Descision! also i quit alcohol at the same time but i think coffee s impact on sleep is greater than alcohol!
As someone who almost never drinks coffee, I don't understand how you can feel dislodged from your social surroundings, if you don't have a cup of coffee. I don't ever have problems with a glass of water etc when I'm with my family or friends who are heavy coffee drinkers. Could someone enlighten me?
Don't know either. I don't drink coffe at all. I never liked it. It stinks for me. 27 years without coffe and i'm good. I always drink just water or some fruit juice and that's all. It is just a pathetic addiction.
It was just a (bad) point made to lengthen the video's time as quitting coffee doesn't have many drawbacks. Yes you get the caffeine withdrawal headache for a day or two but after that there's not much else. I would argue the guy on a cup of coffee a day for the last twenty years even feels the effects and it more placebo than anything.
For me it was having a cup because it made me look normal and therefore not nervous. I smoked a lot of weed, so I was always high ( I know I didn’t have a caffeine problem, I had a weed problem.) but while being high I was nervous that people at work would know, which they probably did; but having something around my hands and face made me feel secure in social settings.
I think it partially has to do with his job, he wasn’t able to partake in perhaps team rituals. I know just when I was trying to save money I wouldn’t go to Starbucks with my team during the daily 3pm ritual and it made me feel a bit left out, but of course that was my own decision.
we care too much on the social aspect of coffee, as an italian myself coffee is part of our culture, everyone drinks it so we are really pressured to like it. I hate coffee, so everytime i go out with my friends to eat breakfast or simply to spend time with them everyone drink it but i never did, it never bothered me, i really like tea instead, i drink it often. People need to be less influenced by the social life and what everyone does, simply drink something else if you don't want coffee. Nice video matt, always the best.
Quitting caffeine after 15 years' daily use I finally got back the feeling of that "real" drowsiness, deep sleep, energy, and peace (no more anxiety)! Like nicotine and sugar caffeine is silently crippling and killing us. Wake up and quit to experience the difference for yourself! It's not that hard at all.
@@luchanobogdanov7663 I can enjoy peace & quiet as well. But that's also due to my meditation practice, and monthly float tank experiences. Plus i get to drink coffee 😃
I don't like coffee, and I see how it effects my mom and my sister, so I think I'm never gonna drink it. They are both so tired, unproductive, and rude when they don't have it at least once in a day. It's almost like an addiction. I don't want to be addicted to anything when I'm older so..

i think the best benefit of quitting caffeine: First of all, one less thing your body is addicted too and the other point it, when you actually drink caffeine you actually get the benefits. On a different level than when you drink it every day
@@protolexis I drink cappuccino, while it still has some caffeine it's got lotsa milk and it tastes so nice. It doesn't feel like I can't go without it in the morning either, it's easy to go without it and it's p nice.
Some interesting observations from someone who has rarely ever had any caffeine and dislikes coffee: As someone who barely ever has had caffeine (and yes, it was insane when I did have some but has been extremely infrequent in my life), I've always noticed the short attention span of regular users. It's literally not worth working on a project with someone addicted to caffeine who doesn't have a cup in hand (or at least had their daily dose a bit prior). I truly mean those words. Obviously it's a spectrum and everyone falls on it in different places but the daily Starbucks-drive-in people I know are super inadequate when deprived of their zoom juice when compared to them on coffee. I get that it's kind of fun a cute to love and need something to function, but honestly that's the number one reason I still stay away. I don't want to have to buy liquid attention after getting too dependent. And I don't want to take any performance enhancer that over time lowers my original base-performance; which then in turn makes me more dependent... I would pay a lot of money to know what a pot a day coffee lover would look like if they'd never had caffeine before in their life. What they'd say after their fist cup ever. Here's the questionably unethical experiment. Take identical twins and introduce one to coffee at a safe age and restrict the other from all caffeine. Then at different ages as time goes by, test them cognitively. Have the coffee drinker take tests with and without any caffeine. Maybe every few testing cycles have the abstinent one take some caffeine before a test to see how much their score is enhanced. Also take note of sleep quality, grades, self-rated happiness, and aging. Then I think we might finally get a scientific answer as to whether coffee is good or bad for you. Think about it, if the abstinent subject EVER scored better without caffeine than the other twin with caffeine then what does that mean? And for how many years are the benefits of the increased mental ability from caffeine actually beneficial? and at what cost to your base mental ability? I've never liked the taste of coffee and everyone I talk to who does says, "at first you don't like it but eventually you grow to love the flavor" which I'm pretty sure has to do with cravings caused by addiction. Put caffeine in anything and people will grow to love it. Same with all drugs. Take smoking for example; smells bad, taste bad, burns a bit, first time users don't enjoy it but do like the rush; yet those addicted LOVE the experience and have extreme difficulty quitting. They miss the ritual and social aspects. Sound familiar? Obviously far more dangerous and likely more addictive but the same principle. So I believe you when you say, "I just love the flavor," or, "I only drink it for the flavor," because you do love the flavor, but realize that many people don't like the flavor at first which is just a tad suspicious to me on why you would think bean tea taste so delicious and becomes something you can't imagine life without. (Just a joke tea Connoisseurs, please don't hurt me) Also, in case your curious, I'd self rate my own attention span extremely high, though if we're being honest UA-cam does take it's toll on me. Still, when I've got a big machine learning project I'm able to code for like 5 straight hours of non-stop, high quality, uninterrupted and productive work, with no food or sugar required. Feels focused and not like I'm punishing myself or miserable from the work. Easily my best super power. Also recharging my brain, while not as fast as a cup of jo, is usually as easy as a 30 minute walk and then I'm primed for another couple hours. Wouldn't trade that - for a drink I don't love (but would eventually grow to love if consumed a few times) with the promise of a dependency and cravings so bad they'll cause headaches if missed - any day. I fully understand that your love is deep and your love is real (talking to coffee drinkers) and you wouldn't want to know anything different, but as someone who's never had that love, it does seem a little unappetizing... And a little one sided. I mean, for your first few cups you might not even really like it. Just my two cents as someone who over-worries a dependency lowers the quality and abilities of my base-state self. P.S. wouldn't be offended if people who find this interesting like it so others will see, I feel like I'm quite the minority in this comment section.
Hey, I totally agree with you. I did not want to drink coffee for a long time for the same reasons as you. Then I "needed" it because of exams. Then because of super long days. Then schoolwork. Then workdays. Then regular days. And now only for existing on a non-sloth level. And gosh, you are so right, I grew to like the taste! I even stopped putting sugar in it, hoping I would drink less if it tasted terrible again. Guess what, I love it without sugar too now. Reading your comment, I was angry with you for being so right about my weakness. I love Matt but he didn't challenge me this time. You did. Thanks for the constructive comment. Forget about the twin experiment though! :D
Oh, I’m feeling pretty special now. I drink coffee maximum twice a year, because I really love the taste, but it makes me feel very bad (stomachache, increased heartbeat, headache and sometimes anxiety, even a panic attack once). The rare times when I drink it I think that tastes so good but after half an hour I’m starting feeling sick and I regret it, remembering why I don’t drink coffee. Can’t imagine how people can drink more than one cup of coffee a day.
I drink coffee regularly but I still think that you are right. I would really like to break free from that stuff. I tried it for 30 days once but it was such a struggle. Caffeine-addiction is very real, I think. The "getting-used-to-the-flavour-aspect" is also very true.
Bro I’m not addicted to weed I just spend 2/3 of my paycheck on it and smoke it everyday all day but I could quit any time I just don’t want to that’s no addiction
Thats crazy they went back. I think it might be a fake video too. Making people believe that coffee addiction is allright. These people have sold themselves.
Coffee for me represents such a positive experience in culture, it’s an ancient practice and has been spread globally. Ive found having it in moderation will eliminate all of the negative symptoms you described.
You can drink tea if you don't want to consume as much caffeine. America should adopt tea culture like other countries such as Turkey, India, Britain, China and Japan.
Soul Trek Ventures I love coffee *because* of the acidity. I tried a low acid healthier coffee and it totally lost its appeal to me. Anything can be addictive, enjoying your life in moderation isn’t addiction.
Quitting Coffee was the best decision .....my energy improved and I love that I am more in tuned with my own energy. Only thing how those coffee snobs look down upon you...”oh.. you don’t drink coffee?” ... trust me i used to be so addicted to all those tansy brewed coffee, it’s better for your health if you can minimize it.
Haha interesting. I love coffee, but unfortunately it spikes my anxiety (in fact, it basically causes my anxiety). That doesn't seem to be the case for Matt
Coffee also spikes my anxiety but somehow green tea doesn't so I was able to swap it out so at least I can have something warm to drink in the mornings, you should try it if you're interested.
For me, coffee helps to be less anxious. I guess that is very different for different people. With an exception to nervousness. When I'm nervous, caffeine totally boosts that.
It's been 6 days since I drank any caffeine, I feel like NEW. Seriously, I feel like I haven't felt in ages. I don't think I'm coming back, at least not unless I forget this.

As a tea drinker myself, I can tell you that its all in your head when you think that you are alone in a crowd full of coffee drinkers. You are not left out or anything. That's just your own imagination that is coming from fear of being left out. Its still the same.
literally! as a tea drinker i've personally never felt left out of anything because of that, maybe it's different in the us but where i live tea is always offered as an option in coffee shops and everyone has it at home
i have tried so many 30 days challenges but quitting tea for this long is nearly impossible for me. i don't know how am i even gonna focus on anything without it.
how is the social aspect different? The only thing i can imagine is the fact that you're detoxing. Grab a cup of tea or a glass of water. Social aspacts are about being social, not about the food or drings involved but the people. Same goes for people who say this about alcohol or snacks
I'm 27, ive never had a cup of coffee. Seeing my peers in high school or my parents become dependent on it for energy to get through the day turnes me off. And so ive never turned to it.
You're doing a great job Matt!! I have tried quit drinking coffee for 30 days, but after 3 days I give up dude. It was so terrible. I can't focus on my work.

I had mild urinary incontinence for a few years and both me and my doctor could't figure out why... Matt, there are studies that say apples are more effective than coffee for keeping you awake. Bananas are very good for sleeping and relaxation, so you were eating the wrong fruit!!! Personally I almost never drink coffee because iy makes me stomach hurt. I'm an herbal tea person and I take it as my morning and night routine.
I'd been having two or three cups of coffee every day for several months, and then I experienced the worst anxiety ever. Now I drink only one cup a day, sometimes no coffee at all, and am amazed that my anxiety is almost gone.
Qutiing coffee will also benefits you in one thing tremendously! Coffee raises cortisol (stress hormon) which makes you more anxious and agitated so if you are long user and you stop your cortisol levels will be much better and you will literally be less stressed in bad situations.
When I only drank 1 or 2 cups a day, I could quit and feel good in a couple of days. Now that I end up on about 3 cups a day, I switch to tea and taper off cos cold turkey sucks and isn't necessary. I do this about twice a year when I want to reset my caffeine tolerance... Day 1 - 2: 1 cup of tea morning + 1 cup tea afternoon. * Day 3 - 4: 1 cup of tea morning + 1 cup green tea afternoon. * Day 5 - 6: 1 cup green tea morning + 1 cup green tea afternoon. * Day 7 - 8: 1 cup green tea morning only. * Day 9: Caffeine Free!! * * no other caffeine sources, like cola, chocolate, etc. After this 1 week taper, plus 2 weeks completely off caffeine, it works well again! 👍
I quit energy drinks and dropped my daily caffeine levels from 500mg to 40mg on Jan 1st. 6 weeks later, still going strong. Haven't slept this great in years. I highly recommend this to anyone that lays in bed wondering why it's so difficult to fall asleep.

@gauthier how did you deal with the headaches? What did you replace it with?

Some interesting observations from someone who has rarely ever had any caffeine and dislikes coffee:
As someone who barely ever has had caffeine (and yes, it was insane when I did have some but has been extremely infrequent in my life), I've always noticed the short attention span of regular users.
(Just a joke tea Connoisseurs, please don't hurt me)
Also, in case your curious, I'd self rate my own attention span extremely high, though if we're being honest UA-cam does take it's toll on me.
Watch "three identical twins", this experiment is not "a bit" unethical.
Hey,
I totally agree with you.
Coffee is definetly overrated, it has become a culture, people join the new trend to feel like they belong
Always interesting to watch addicts justifying their addiction.
Bro I’m not addicted to weed I just spend 2/3 of my paycheck on it and smoke it everyday all day but I could quit any time I just don’t want to that’s no addiction
@John Smith this me lol, but fuck caffeine and fuck weed
@@JohnSmith-fs8bu I know you mean bro, there's literally nothing else for me to forward to, lmao.
Thats crazy they went back. I think it might be a fake video too. Making people believe that coffee addiction is allright. These people have sold themselves.
My morning coffee tastes so much better while watching this video. I might watch it everyday.
I never drink coffee. From my perspective, coffee looks like a soft/average drug addiction.
"do not talk to me until I get my coffee"

It's an addiction/vice i'm fine with having.
or the ''but first coffee!'' ;)
@@garrettk7166 more caffeine in an apple, there's reallly very little benefits to coffee
The benefits out way the negatives
Coffee for me represents such a positive experience in culture, it’s an ancient practice and has been spread globally. Ive found having it in moderation will eliminate all of the negative symptoms you described.
You can drink tea if you don't want to consume as much caffeine. America should adopt tea culture like other countries such as Turkey, India, Britain, China and Japan.
not really, coffee is highly acidic and addictive (obviously) just like sugar its kinda like legal drug.
@@soultrekcentral the acidity and caffeine is dependent on how it's made, the addictiveness also depends on your consumption and dependency on it.
GreyFolk I buy my favorite green tea and matcha from Japan, I love having a cup in the evening.
Steve Ring i feel you.. 😭 i stopped caffeine since 3 weeks ago because I noticed that it’s triggering my anxiety
Yep spikes my anxiety a lot as well!
i feel that, especially when i have alot things to do or deadline
8:08... Matt's eyebrows twitch from that first caffeine rush since 30 days! Classic! :D

As a tea drinker myself, I can tell you that its all in your head when you think that you are alone in a crowd full of coffee drinkers. You are not left out or anything. That's just your own imagination that is coming from fear of being left out. Its still the same.
There is caffeine in tea
@@patriotsecurityservices4639 yes. but pretty different crowds except people that drink both.
literally! as a tea drinker i've personally never felt left out of anything because of that, maybe it's different in the us but where i live tea is always offered as an option in coffee shops and everyone has it at home
i have tried so many 30 days challenges but quitting tea for this long is nearly impossible for me. i don't know how am i even gonna focus on anything without it.
But Why would someone Quit tea ??
@@yoshiglubschi because it also has as much caffeine as half a cup of coffee?
Ayoub Zahiri Wtf Tea is 0% caffeine. Only Black and Green tea is caffeine

Centauri Another challenge I couldn’t do.
how is the social aspect different? The only thing i can imagine is the fact that you're detoxing. Grab a cup of tea or a glass of water.
Social aspacts are about being social, not about the food or drings involved but the people.
Same goes for people who say this about alcohol or snacks
Exactly! Its not hard switching out the drinks and also having the same social interaction
Yup
I’m sure the guy that owns the coffee business has something to do with why they through that in
I always enjoy a cup of peppermint tea before bed. It is soothing, it clears my head, and it's a trigger that it's time to sleep.
Caeden how interesting. For me peppermint tea wakes me up in the morning. I love how people can have different experiences with the same drink.
Not the best tea for male hormones
I'm 27, ive never had a cup of coffee. Seeing my peers in high school or my parents become dependent on it for energy to get through the day turnes me off. And so ive never turned to it.
Smart man its awful
You're doing a great job Matt!! I have tried quit drinking coffee for 30 days, but after 3 days I give up dude. It was so terrible. I can't focus on my work.

I've only recently become a coffee guy this year and is just *_fell in love_* with the taste
I had mild urinary incontinence for a few years and both me and my doctor could't figure out why... Decided to give up caffeine and within days the incontinence stopped, my sleep improved, my anxiety dropped and my skin looked less flushed. Absolutely worth giving up if you can bear the withdrawal symptoms.
I got a uti as well from drinking coffee every morning
And also drinking BEER!! Omg i didnt realize what i was doing to my bladder
All that acidity and yeast are no bueno

It's interesting that Matt has videos titled "I have anxiety!" and "I still have anxiety". I think he should've made this experiment longer to reap benefits.
You can always drink decaffeinated coffee for the social events.
decaf still has some caffeine just much less than a regular cuppa
@@mitchellposluns7073 Yes but for example the EU, it would literally be 0,1% the amount compared to regular coffee, so it's absolutely negligible.
I switched to decaf then I did some research and found out how heavily processed it is... back to regular coffee and feeling like crap all the time lol
Conrad Thomson makes me laugh when people say it’s not the caffeine it’s the taste but won’t drink Decaf which can be equally as good, in denial addicts.

Day 1 - 2:
1 cup of tea morning + 1 cup tea afternoon. *
Day 3 - 4:
1 cup of tea morning + 1 cup green tea afternoon. *
Day 5 - 6:
1 cup green tea morning + 1 cup green tea afternoon. *
Day 7 - 8:
1 cup green tea morning only. *
Day 9:
Caffeine Free!! *
* no other caffeine sources, like cola, chocolate, etc.
After this 1 week taper, plus 2 weeks completely off caffeine, it works well again! 👍
I quit caffeine every spring during pollen season, haven't been allergic ever since starting that. Really recommend trying that
Jacob Berg why quitting it every spring when you can quit it once and for all? If it’s bad, it’s bad always.
I quit energy drinks and dropped my daily caffeine levels from 500mg to 40mg on Jan 1st. 6 weeks later, still going strong. Haven't slept this great in years. I highly recommend this to anyone that lays in bed wondering why it's so difficult to fall asleep.
