I am new in this field. Should I go with ported or sealed enclosure for the subwoofer for sq set up ? Woofer available in my place are DD audio and entry level Rockford fosgate. Kindly suggest one.
@@pssound9749 thank you for your response. In my place there is only entry level Rockford fosgate , JL audio and DD audio available. Which one would you suggest among the three. No demos available.
Osomiya Deka i honestly have no clue. Both brands have good reputation. Each sub model has it’s own T/S specs, which needs modelling, you can use WinISD for that and see how the drivers behave in a given sized sealed box.
@@pssound9749 Thanks for the feedback. Your professional work is inspiring alot of DIYers as my self. Keep Inspiring and best of luck. Just out of curiosity, I've put the sub in a box a 1.6Cu ft for quick test in trunk of my sedan. Low notes are great, however i heard huge cancellation in range of 50-70Hz. I hope it will be resolved the way I've planned to put subwoofers playing inside cabin.
Jai Aditya Chaudhary that cancellation is not the sub, but the car itself. Most cars have that issue at listening position with sub in the trunk. Watch the video: “why front sub” on the channel, it was probably shared 2-3years ago, just scroll down, that will cover this topic. 👌
@@pssound9749 dear I learnt alot from that video of yours. And yes it's car itself. So do you think putting the sub on the rear speaker plate with it's box buit inside boot will help (subwoofer and it's port are coupled directly into cabin, sealing off any leakage from cabin to trunk.)
Hello Peter ! I just managed to find a Helix Q15W sub and I'm pairing it with a P one. What volume do you reccomend for me for a sealed enclosure for it ? Helix reccomends a 60L one. The sub had a vas of 65. My installer said to me that he reccomends a 70L enclosure for the sub to sound more dynamic and you used it in enclosures of about 80L. So what shall I do ? ... At what frequence can it get down to in a 70L or a 80L enclosure and if the dynamic part is true? Thx !!!
Describing a sub as dynamic as such in this context is kinda not correct. I’m not sure what he wanted to say with that based on different enclosure sizes. Difference between 60-70-80L is not drastic. In larger it’ll have slightly shallower roll-off and it’s play the low-lows a bit better, while a smaller box will be a slightly bit more punchier.
@@pssound9749 yes, I meant to say punchier sorry :) So what do you reccomend, 70 or 80L ? I know that you put a few of theese in your cars and saw the graphics of the frequences in your tuning sessions(btw, do you still happen to have a picture of the graphic of a car using it?) . Can they even play under 30hz in a bigger box or just go with an average size one ? Thx !
@@CosminCraiova sealed only rolls off with 12dB/oct vs ported that rolls off with 24dB/oct, so ported under tuning frequency drops off the cliff, whereas sealed stills plays into the infra range with way more authority.
how to make android head unit pair with aftermarket 6.5 speaker sound great? without an amp. just install single 3k monoblock with single 12" sub on custom ported box. running on stock electrical, that why i doesn't want to add 4ch or another amp again. not enough power. 4 6.5s speaker drive on android head unit lol how to make them sound great??
Please don't misunderstand when I made my comment it wasn't to put you down or this channel down or the branbs down. as far as have I ever use them not those exact models my friend has use the Helix and they sounded okay but he really wasn't going for SQ and neither would I. But like you said in the video you were going for SQ that's why my comment started with looks nice but " I " and the keyword was " I " would have chose better. And as far as zapcothey have a reputation for being really great answering sound really really good and my personal experience withzapco will say the same thing but as of lately they really haven't been honest about what their amps put out power-wise. Like the ST 1350 XM2 is rated at 1350 RMS and it does rated power but the amp cost $299.95 us dollars. It's really not worth it at cost per watt.
@@stevepegg8386 like I said in my comment below he's going for SQ and I go for earthquake sound. I would have used an Apocalypse DB SA3-12 d2, on an Apocalypse AAB 2900.1.
