I stocked up on Tempus V1. It isn't just the lovely ride, with a great balance between feel and cushion, but for me they are a perfect fit, like wearing a favourite pair of slippers.
@@ryanmiskin8925 That's strange; it's not that different to the ES3, a little less energy return (lack of plate) and a bit roomier. Pretty similar, so hard to understand how you can like one and hate the other.
Just stocked up my Tempus 1 for the next season here in Germany. In USA you still can get it for around $90. Only Adidas SL2 can compete in value, but they have no stability at all.
I am very fond of the original Tempus (I) and I'm really glad that T2 became warmer (It is also noticed by other reviewers). My actual shoe for the cold days are the really warm Ride 17. Yet, Ride 17 have their limits if you plan to do some intervals/speed training. There are so many options for Speed Trainers, but they all are breathable resulting in the cold feet by temperatures around 0 C (32 F), which I am sensitive to. With Tempus you can really pick up the pace. I am 50 and not a profi, but 3.40-4.00 min/km pieces were really Ok in Tempus I. I also run my PB HM in Tempus I in October. It was my second and I was really conservative about the pace (~5.15 min/km). After the finish line my first thought was: "Wow, my feet still feel fresh. Why I did not run a bit faster?" Now I will consider Tempus II as an option for the speed winter trainer.
Awesome comparison. I love your style of doing shoe comparisons. Please do more and more of them. Looking forward to some NovaBlast 5 comparisons if you would. 😊
Colorway is always an interesting thing..I have a thing for the bright ones, but when I race I'm usually the rare runner that isn't wearing black-ish or white-ish shoes that are not high end shoes..I know runners that are embarrassed by wearing colorful super shoes..pretty sure it's a result of growing up in the upper Midwest culture..😅😅😅
I own three pairs of tempus 1. I loved them all. I'm a lighter runner 5.5 at 130 . I have ran a 22 mile run in them and they performed good. This was going to be my marathon shoe but decided to use the speed 4. Ran a 345
Funny because orange is one of my favorite colors along with purple and green. I don't love the aesthetics of that shoe either, but I'm also just not into grey for running and cycling gear at all. I kinda need fun colors for my shoes, hats, gloves, etc. Cycling kits fun and colorful, but running kits all black with fun colors from the shoes, socks, etc. I get all black for shorts, shirts, tights so I don't have to worry about matching as much.
The Tempus is a really great shoe. Easy jog, walk and all day comfort. .. just starting so I'm curious. But I'm 6' 250lb Marine.. so I squish em.. lol.. not an issue with the toes. Saw the coment. Have that very color you have. Rah.. oh.. just got a pair of the recomended 60 buck Sauconys in today and on my feet now.. Had them on since one and ten hours later still on.. were firm at first. But softened thru the day of just walking and sitting.
Definitely Tempus over adrenaline for a full marathon - it feel more cushioned and has more bounce to it. If you are planning on finishing in 4+ hours and want something even more cushioned for time on feet, a lot of runners like the Brooks Glycerin GTS and Asics Gel Kayano for the full marathon
Very similar feel, but lighter weight and not as wide! It's underfoot in the front but below the former layer in the back. You'd probably enjoy this as a complement to the hurricane
Thanks for the video Yowana! Two questions... Did you still get the toe rub in this version (I didn't get v1 because I felt that as soon as I tried it on)? And if your had to choose between the Tempus 2 and the Brooks Hyperion GTS 2 for a lighter/faster stability shoe, which would you go for??
no rubbing yesterday! new upper is softer, so maybe that helped. the hyperion 2 is definitely faster and lighter (i have not tried the GTS but it's the same foam as regular). tempus is a lot more comfortable though so i'd choose based on whether you want comfort or speed
High cadence is actually important especially for optimizing form same with stride length the moment i focused on these I became a lot faster a lot of miles doesn’t mean anything if its with bad form and mechanics
Hey man! I think the shoes look ok. How does the Tempus 1/2 compare to my Triumph 20 Runshield and the "normal" Triumph 21? Is it a more stable and more bouncy Triumph21? Compared to the New balance 860 V14: You said it's firmer. How much firmer? Because I'm a heavier runner with 90kg/200lbs, therefore, the 860 v14 seems better? Just without superfoam? Then there ios a hurricane 24. And there is a Asics GT2000, which was perfect up to version 10, until they decided to make it wieder and way harder on #11 (too hard) and then with #12 wider once again and even harder! #12 is hard as a brick! I kid you not! #13 is supposed to be a little softer again... although i heard one reviewer say that it is even firmer and snappier.
Very informative review. I am an over-pronator with borderline narrow feet, flat feet and a bunion on my right foot. I run a moderately paced 5k 4 times per week for health and fitness (not for competition or speed). Do you recommend the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24? Or should I stick with the Saucony Tempus (see below)? FYI, I ran in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS for years, but dumped them after the 21 (or 22?) because they were so stiff and blah to run in. I wanted something more energetic, lighter with pop/spring and not too stiff. I felt that the Adrenaline GTS just chugged along… I’ve been running in the Saucony Tempus for a few years. I am happy ish with them, but the Adrenaline GTS 24 is intriguing. And the new Lime Green/Nightlife colorway is 🔥.
What’s the difference between the stack height and cushioning? Measured from the outside and inside? Some websites it states 38mm 30mm or 33mm 25mm for the same 8mm drop obviously by the math.
They should be the same. Some sites measure without insole and rubber though. I use running warehouse for everything and they measure including everything your foot sits on top of - and standardized across all shoes
@@Charles-kc2vt I find many shoes have tight toe boxes but the Tempus is perfect for me; better than any other Saucony shoe I've tried; much roomier than the Triumph 21, which was so tight I had to send them back.
I depends on you and your purposes. SL2 are of great value, fun ride, but much less supportive, thin breathable upper - perfect for the summer, not for winter
Just do the shoe market indoors. It's fine. For your Ultra, you could try to run in the 361 Miro Nude. A lightweight marathon shoe. if it's all on the road. Then review a slew of Chinese made shoes if you're alright with that. 361, XTEP , Li-Ning, Qiaodan. They had CPU outsoles before Adidas released the Evo SL (Which only has Lighttraxxion CPU on the back of the shoe).
Would you recommend some good running shoes for cold weather in 2024? For me, they are Novablast 3 and Foreverrun nitro Knit which have warm upper for cosy Winter run. I'll wait for this video.
the chickens are only in your yard to get to the bugs and worms.. if you did not have plenty they would not be comming there instead of their home.. I'd be happy they are there. They also eat small rodents and snakes too.. so.. just a thought
I almost wonder if you run too much to really understand the feeling of a shoe if that makes sense a lot of times when I find myself running too much and then I try a new shoe. I can’t fully get the full effect out of it.
Oh Yay!! That was me, thank you Yowana!!! My most trusted (and respected!) shoes reviewer in the game. Looking forward to watching this🙏💜🤗🙌
Bro I just tried my pair on yesterday before you posted this video! 🔥 they put the Ride upper on the Tempus and made it 100x more enjoyable

I think we are in need of a Novablast 5 review! I know its not out yet for retail but im sure you could get your hands on one
I just got mine and love it so far! I really need stability shoes so this is an important one.
Lmao "I might not be vegan after this" that cold. 😂
Some swear the OG tempus was endorphin speed like with guidance
Yrs that's why i struggled in picking my marathon shoe between the v1 and the speed 4. Went with the speed 4
Why was;?. You can still get the Tempus I even below $100. Only Adidas SL2 (no stability at all) could compete for the value.

I have 3 pairs of OG Tempus, they're underrated shoes, comfy for daily runs but still pretty fast

100% great race day shoe.
Btw, not only the upper was updated. According to the official data the stack height was increased by 1.5 mm both in front and in the heel.
Comfort underfoot vs Hurricane 24? Is the PWRRUN PB underfoot like the Hurricane? Great review!

I find Tempus V1 very harsh for easy runs.
What do you mean?
Are these shoes suitable for people with a large body weight?
Yes they are but I'd suggest the hurricane 24 by Saucony over this. It has a bit more structure and support to it with the same comfortable foams!
