After 500 miles on the original prime x ( & still going strong for a friend) I have 420 miles on a pair of prime X strung and another 2 pairs waiting in reserve. They are truly the best.
I had a pair of the original 2021 model non-stung Prime X. I was thinking that they’d last forever. I got a LOT of miles out of them but eventually the layers of midsole separated where the energy rods in the left shoe. The midsole still felt resilient and the Continental outsole had TONS of life. The weak link in the chain was the glue between layers of midsole foam.
Top work with the video production, I've noticed that the quality is always getting better. The cutting and pacing with music is really good Also, cool to see that you use Webflow for your website. So slick
Thanks Nathan! I appreciate you noticing 🙌🏽 gotta work on my GoPro game still though 😂 and yeah webflow is awesome. Best way to start a website in 2024
yeah the thing is that it’s unusual for people to compete at a high level and heel strike or over stride without getting injured. however you’re doing great so keep it rolling man 🤙🤝💪
I bought the version 1 , a month ago. The firsts runs were terrible, my feet hurt, but now the foot is more resilient to the instability of this shoe. The feet adapted little by little and became stronger! This is why you should have a show rotation! work all ligaments and tendons!
Congrats on breaking the sup-par long run spell! So glad you went full MCG and had a great run! 😊🎉 Such high praise for the Prime X Strung too! As a fellow MCGHJ, I think I'm going to try looking for one on the Supwell app. Thanks for the shoutout! 🙌
The Strung 1 is an epic shoe. I had 3 pairs. The Strung 2 is an uncomfortable brick. I get sad just looking at them. I predict the Strung 3 will not even be a shoe - just something heavy with shoelaces.
Im sorry for your loss 😢, AKA Maurten, but I i was literally loling at the increasing cost of your loss 😂 I was also patiently waiting to see if you solved the case of the Mystery Missing Maurten?!
i swear i saw the maurten boxes on the shelf right at the same level as the camera as you left the closet, lol. waiting to see if that comes back up...😅
Just bought the gel nimbus 26 in the Rich navy/faded orange colorway. Look so cool ang fire at the same time! Looking forward to taking my first run in them. Surprised that it is a bit snug overall but long. Need to go half size up because my midfoot is spilling over the midsole (have wide midfoot) hope i don't get heel slip because it is long for me. Hope the snug fit overall helps me in the lockdown. Btw, bought the hurricane 24 and Sc trainer v3 😁
My right ankle in particular is too weak for these high heel moon bouncers. Thankfully no such issues (apart from minor ankle bruising) with the Adios Pro 3's which are gods shoes.
1) Did you ever find the Maurten's? 2) Our kids are so lucky to have parents that really make time for them. 3) I'm more optimistic about the EVO SL. It has almost as much LSP as the AP3. I might be tempted if I run across the OG PrimeX on the app though. :)
Appreciate all your work on the shoe info! It would be great to see notes in the shoe database that help you search for other shoes that are similar, for example my quest is to find another shoe that has that underfoot soft comfort of the Saucony Hurricane. I'd love to see notes saying "if you love this shoe, these shoes have a similar comfort underfoot". Haven't found anything that comes close to the Hurricane:(
Great suggestion! I'll think of ways to add. For now the alternatives section handles some of that - though I haven't updated it for every shoe. In terms of hurricane replacements the brooks ghost max 2 or glycerin max are both excellent. The ghost max 2 has a similar soft but supportive feel with a nice roll and bounce
@@supwell I have both versions of the Ghost Max and I rotate the 3 of them:) But neither have the underfoot softness of the Hurricane. The components of running shoes are confusing to me, I always thought the midsole was from the arch forward but it's clear after watching your videos that the midsole is between the sockliner and the outsole? And in a dual foam shoe what is the component between the outsole and the upper midsole? However the Hurricane is constructed it works incredible for my painful feet:) The Ghost Max and GM2 are OK but my feet can feel the raised edge around the inside of the shoe where the Hurricane just feels soft and comfortable. More than you wanted to know I'm sure:)
@@Chrysossokay got it that makes a lot of sense! That top layer of foam in the hurricane midsole is really nice - agreed on that 👌🏽 maybe the hurricane 25 will end up being the best replacement 😂 someone posted a leak on the Supwell app and it doesn't look like they're changing much which is a good thing
regarding imbalances while running, i always ask mywelf, what the consequences are, when a runner films while running. Obviously the arm swing is different, because the hand which holds the camerea will be held as steady as possible, while the other handswings normally. Changing the "film hand" might help. One other thing i know from my own exerience....i put just a little more force into my foot with the start of breathing in phase. That means if my breathing rhythm is a total of an even number like 4 or 6 steps per cycle, i always push a little more with the same foot. As a result on most easy or moderate runs i choose a 5 step ryhtm .......
I happened to rewatch the PX2S review last night and it definitely turned me off of that shoe. But now I’m getting FOMO for the PXS OG from this video. Given benefits for long runs, I would have thought that theoretically a more stable version of this shoe would be a good thing, ie version 2. Is there any chance that version just needs a breakin or did they make changes that nerfed the bounce?
i'm going to revisit the 2 for sure - it just felt so much heavier on foot with not as much bounce on the first run. i was running at a pretty good clip with lower effort though so that classic lightstrike pro feel was definitely in effect. hopefully it'll break in. it's only as heavy as magmax which i thought was great for a long run
I find it funny, that denaturated sojaextract is as a tasteless fattening mass the ideal product to replace meat, which gets also its taste primarily through seasoning, and is also when cooked, fired or otherwise heated a denaturised proteinextract for fattening the consumer
Did this Yowana I have a shoe store in my neighborhood they refuse to carry adidas. I asked them why they stated its not a real running shoe. I asked them do they ever pay attention to the podiums at the conclusion of marathons. I also asked they why they did not carry skechers they said for the same reason. I still support them but they are missing out. I believe you may have stated why- they last too long!
My guy I am a Nike lover. What shoe to get for the following type of training 2 easy runs per week 30-40 min 1 progression workout (15 easy, steady, treshold) 1 Interval workout (90s 5km pace, 90s jog recovery) 1 easy run 60 min on sunday Which shoes to get from Nike? Feel free to include another brand if it kills Nike. Thanks!
Prime x is less stable, taller and feels like there's even more speed assistance. Also feels lighter weight on foot - I believe they're around the same weight but the hoka feels heavier. The adidas foam has more bounce to it
I have the engineered mesh version of these and I have to say that there peak performance shoes. There one of those shoes that make you go past the limits plus you just don’t want to take them off. 😂
Yeah I was shooting with all factory settings yesterday ... big mistake 😂 I changed some last night and the footage from this morning is way better. No shame
adios pro 3 is way more stable, don't buy those shoes if you need stability or has weak posture or run on instable road. The ride is amazing but you need to be strong to run on them.
Hello for walking only do you suggest Nimbus 25 or Nb more V5 ? There is no way to buy brooks ghost max in Europe… are they the best by a large margin?
Been running for about two years now but just started taking it serious.( want to run a marathon next year )I’ve been running with Nike free run 2018. Usually 5k twice a week. I’m looking to start long runs for marathon training. Any recommendations if I like the free run 2018 close to the ground feel. I just got the adidas ultra boost 5x and it’s a big difference because it’s so high off the ground. I’ve only done 6 miles on them and I know I have to get used to the difference. But would like your opinion if there is a good everyday trainer/race day shoe that’s good with a low profile or are long run shoes just chunky and no way to get away from them?? Do I just have to get used to the chunky shoes?
It's pretty tall and unstable for walking - not a natural feeling shoe at all unfortunately and the fit isn't the most comfortable for time on feet. For a similar look for causal wear I'd suggest the Adizero SL2. Much more comfortable and natural for walking - here's my link to check it out www.runningwarehouse.com/adidas_adizero_SL_2/descpage-A2ASLM4.html
The Believe in the Run guys did a video where they mentioned testing out an early version of the PX2 Strung. They’d been sworn to secrecy by Adidas, but were allowed to give a little teaser on their channel. And honestly, they were rhapsodic about the experience; like it was the most amazing, rule-breaking shoe they’d ever experienced. Then when the PX2 was finally released it was kind of a dud. A bit later, the BitR guys circled back and said the version they tested was completely different from the official release: a different structural design altogether. Supposedly the changes stemmed from legal pressure Adidas got from Brooks or somebody. Anyway, it always sounded like a tragic case of “what could’ve been” for the PX2 Strung. Can’t recall which video, probably from around a year ago.
Pretty sure it was Nike. I could be wrong on who it was. The original PX2 Strung had an actual gap through the foam in the midsole you could see through. That’s where the 3rd chunk of foam came in between the plates.
