Cross shopped between the GRC, Golf R mk8, and CTR. I needed AWD, so was really only between the GR and Golf R. Golf R just felt pedestrian, heavy and did not handle like the GR does. Haven’t looked back!
The road news is horrible, but it’s a Corolla. The standard Corolla also has horrible road noise. This is one of the biggest complaints about this vehicle. I just wish they would have made the interior just as good as the exterior, especially for the price.
No one buys a Corolla to go fast. Sorry to burst your bubble. It’s a hopped up little hatch. Drive an actual fast car and you’ll see it’s a fun little sedan that handles ok and still has a 1.6 L engine
It is beautiful. I want this exact setup but in white. It is my dream car and I hope one day I can afford one. I have a Co Worker and his dad owns it in black and I think it's the Core model, but he drives it. And I did get to drive one for a minute literally lol.

I had a Lexus RCF which I modded the hell out of because I felt in stock form it was lacking. The GR Corolla to me is perfect, from the looks to the fun factor. The daily drive is so engaging, one reviewer described it as an analog experience of yesteryear performance cars which is a perfect description of the GR Corolla. I’m surprised I get a handful of thumbs up and people taking a second look at it.
@@danialsyed6317 These motors are overbuilt. People have put a lot of milage on these since it came out in the GR Yaris. It's a solid motor. The only ones that have blown up have been due to money shifting, bad tunes, or like Powertune Australia's GR Yaris that blew at 740whp with stock internals.
@@classicdufferin8739 because the motor only has 3 cylinders (V-3). It can’t handle the horsepower, so which cause the motor not to balance and adds too much pressure on the cylinders. It’s better for Toyota to make this car a V-4
Just got my GRC circuit as a daily, but primarily as a rally'est kind of rig & to play in the shoulder seasons of winter. To help the rally & snow part I immediately replace the stock tires with a taller & narrower 225/45/18 UHP all season tire that are good to 25 degrees & will handle the gravel roads better.
I have been binging GRC videos as I'm finally picking up my 24 blue flame CE tomorrow. Thank you for the shots of the PPF'd roof as it's something I've been debating on for a while. I agree with your flow proposition and think making the grill and interior gloss while also making the roof matte was certainly a decision by Toyota.
@@nikolaiiaksenov I do, but I was undecided on doing gloss vs matte. The car flows better with gloss, but the texture isn’t as smooth as I would like it.
@@soulsick410 I've seen it's possible to remove the texture by wet sanding and clearing. So if you wanted a smooth glossy finish, this would be an option

Hyundai is known to have electrical issues, Toyota is known to be reliable. and tbh GR is more in tune with racing and performance than Hyundai could ever dream to be.
