Drive the gen 1 w/pride knowing it's manual only. While I like the new front grill & bump in torque, it's not enough to make me want to switch. Thats what the aftermarket is for.

I bought my 24 GRC on Monday night knowing about the 25. I think the bumper is ugly so I had no interest in it. I also paid MSRP with nothing even trying to addon to the car trying to raise the price. There are also 2 other dealers with circuits coming in and are also at MSRP. I think the markups are done atleast in my area

Having an automatic option is a great upgrade I will admit and puts the car at least on the radar for me since I lost use of my left knee. That said this car needs AWD to really make it stand out among the other hot hatches that are still FWD.
toyota's answer to the diff cooling issue is a software one. They changed track mode to be continually variable between the different splits allowing them to stress the diff less.
@@CarQuicks the one thing I would be worried about is that type of calculations needs some real computing power. so I'm not sure if they made updates to the CPU too with that.
I love my 2024 CE in Blue Flame (I think I remember commenting on your video for your thoughts on that release, saying how I loved that color haha) so there is no way I'd turn it in for such a small upgrade. Not with how much I love the color, the mods I've done already, and how hard it was for me to get on in Blue Flame.
To his point... My gf isnt a car person. But, when i was looking at the corolla gr, she got real excited and started talking about how she might get one. She was pretty disappointed when i told her it was stick only, and pretty quickly lost interest. I told her about the changes for 2025, and now shes back on board. Eccept now she's also looking at a chevy colorado. If toyota had an AT back when she first got excited, it would have been no question. But now they might lose the sale to chevy, since she is considering the functionality of a small truck. (I hope she gets the corolla, or at least gets the chevy used to save money)
A GRC or a Chevy Colorado is a wild cross-shop. Two vastly different category of car. But tell her this... trucks are dime a dozen, we are here for a short time, not a long time... have some fun!
Good comment!! 2025 doesn’t look like it has stock fog lights anymore, automatic is good for those who can’t drive manual, and yes that more Toyota sells this car, more aftermarket things will become available to pick from. I got mine 2024 Circuit Edition recently in June and I am a happy GRC owner like others.
Great video man! I have such a dilemma right now. The dealership can get me a base level 2024 GR in november. (In Canada, we get the limited slip differential on ALL trim levels too.) BUT.... I also have the option for reserving a 2025 model which might be a years wait. I don't know if I should go for the '24 or wait for the '25. Are all the little updates worth it... hmmm
If you are this close to the latest model year, I would always go for the newest one, unless they are cutting a deal you can't refuse on the 24' model year.
The trans cooler is exclusively for the auto. Also, there is dual climate controls now. And the torque is from about 1psi more boost at lower rpm. Thanks

Honestly the biggest let down for me is dropping Blaze Blue. That's the best color! Everything else is cool, but could be handled in the aftermarket. GR is the best thing to happen to Toyota since the Yamaha partnership with engines.
I definitely agree that this car is and will go down in history as one of Toyota's best. I love blue too, but I'm partial to darker hues, and the one critique I still have is the absence of more colors.
I’d be most excited about the suspension mods the did in the dampers and the rear trailing arms. But frankly, not trading mine in… it’d be too much work to take off all the mods I’ve done and reinstall them lol… But seems like this move with the auto makes the car feel less special. Like Hyundai did with the Elantra N. Now with an automatic option, they will be going after golf R buyers more than CTR buyers.
The Golf R buyers is a good way to look at this, though I think Toyota would need further interior changes to entice those buyers who have a borderline luxury hatchback. For me I'm in the same boat, I'm not taking all these mods off. LOL!
I still have only seen one other Corolla GR in person besides mine. I want the GR Corolla to be a thing in 10 years because I don't want to be fighting to find parts should something go wrong.

Just bought a Red 2024 Premium for 39,500 so no brainer for me. 2025 Premium in transit coming in is 47,500. November so I new I could stand my ground with 3k discount as they had 3 on the lot that must go in 2 months. I do not like the new 2025 front bumper (no fog lights!, come on man) or intakes on the hood. Looks wise I think it looks over done now. The added 20 torque is meh (tune the 2024 and add a down pipe you will get 350) and they did nothing about diff overheat. If you want one of these I seriously suggest looking for a 2024 at a discount now and not a 2025 at full cost (or even markup)!
The absolute best deals are the ones in 23-24 where you don't care for the upgrades or bumper change. The core of the car is the same. And you'll save a ton.
biggest issue with the auto is that's all most dealers will stock. will be very hard to find a GRC with 3 pedals going forward. same thing happened to veloster N & elantra N (although those DCT's are extremely good).
I’m in a socal grc group and they had a few pop ups recently and they had a 2025 grc idk if they’d allow you to get into the car but they did have it out for display at one of the pop ups

Idk feel like the new front is too over the top. Prefer the subtle smooth old front end its a sleeper. If i was younger like straight out of high school i feel i would of preferred the new one🤷♂️ thats just me though
As you all know Toyota has their new 400hp Turbo 4 coming out later on for the MR2 and Celica. My fingers are crossed that this engine will eventually find its way into the GR Corolla and possibly the GR86 but having said that…the crazies already have Toyota’s 3cyl up to 1000hp! I know reliability will take a dent or two but still incredible…
I have a 2024 premium, and I can't wait to trade it in for the automatic. I am not hating on the manual. I have owned many, but this car's manual just doesn't drive like a typical manual it feels oddly different than any car I have ever owned with it. Plus, the weak clutch and transmission is a large weak spot for this car (besides the valves) and the amount of $ and effort needed to make the (clutch/transmission) driveline strong enough to hold at the 350/400 hp range isn't worth the effort to me not to mention the lack of very few good transmission option's for parts upgrade to hold more power. The Auto should be fine at that level, plus be predictable on launches over and over and over. I am really looking at the premium + but I can't stand the roof! I am much more into a traditional carbon weave pattern then the cheap looking flat forged carbon. And it appears like the heads-up display is only on the Plus 😬 wonder If the interior extra gloss black pieces are in the Plus as well 🤔
I do want to test out the Automatic GRC, even if a majority hate the idea, but I see where this makes sense for a lot of people. And Mr. Morizo himself was behind the development. The gloss black is still there so prepare for that life! LOL!
I'd imagine if they did they would charge something like $2500-$5000 and then we would have to ask if its worth it compared to the aftermarket. But packages like the old days of the Neon SRT4 would be cool.
They don’t catch out of fire from nowhere. You need more context to those sensational articles. But for some perspective, if you are truly interested in the GR Corolla… between 5-6000 have been sold in the US. The same exact motor is in the GR Yaris, built in the same factory. There are somewhere around, and I’m guessing, 15,000+ out in the world. We saw 2 articles about 2 GRCs where there has been documented questionable history on one of the cars. 1 of which was rebuilt. Don’t worry about any of that. The car is solid because if there was fires happening, you would have heard about this since the GR Yaris.
Bought a 2024 GTI earlier this year, the 2025 GR Corolla might make me regret that! Might look into an automatic GR in the next couple years, only thing I don’t like about the Toyota is that interior… no center console?
Yeah, we definitely had our money spent on the drivetrain and not the interior, but its still quality, it may not have alacantara/suede, leather, but its built solidly. The armrest thing I had to use the aftermarket to fix.

The automatic transmission cost an additional $2K and it's worth every penny. I drove a manual for 10 years and will never do that again. Especially when you drive in stop and go traffic every day.
I do remember a few graphs on the wind turbulence, though I do prefer the CE Wing over the Epilson, just by my own tastes. The wing I would love has still not been made.
I'm keeping my 23 fully loaded core. I don't think it's worth it to trade. The main selling point is the frontend refresh and the automatic transmission variant and that doesn't appeal to me at all.
Unfortunately dealerships are like the last place to know of models incoming. Especially for Toyota you will need to wait until October/November before you hear anything.
My previous car was a S2000 so I would probably be in the same boat if I kept that cat too. Thats another point too to the new DAT transmission, there are many people who have all the manual cars they need and do like the experience of the car, but want an easier drive.
No it’s the same engine and car. A few changes it’s not worth it.. My 2023 make 303whp and 310tq with only a SXTH intercooler and full customer hot & cold side charge pipes. If you want buy a better radiator and you can buy break cooling kit. Plus no fog lights. If you want a automatic then go for it. The suspension mods seems exciting. They should have addressed the differential cooling and slightly better valve springs. Run your car on a mustang dyno with your mods your car makes more than a 2025 stock.
Yup, you are absolutely right. This is more an exercise in "out loud thinking" then me actually wanting to trade in. For sure, the lack of fog lights is a miss from Toyota, and having a friend with the same SXTH intercooler and charge pipes, the way this car wakes up with just that mod is amazing.
for the average owner, its such a waste to trade it in. For the enthusiast who will need the cooling, and suspension changes matter, yes it would be good to change.
If you’ve got the Duckets…keep your old and order the new one. I say this because I love manuals BUT an automatic GR Corolla will be a quicker go cart…especially if you throw the aftermarket at it!😁👍
I agree! A lot of people still don’t know how to drive manuals so the autos should be a hit. On the Car Wow channel they tested it already and…it looks fun without the clutch issues that I just heard about. I loved my FK8 manual but I sure wished that Honda or especially Acura would’ve developed an auto FWD and an AWD model…even if it was electric motor rear drive…like the ERAY but reversed. Definitely think that there’d be a market for it…
After seeing Toyota deny warranty claims for people going 114 mph at some point during the car's ownership I don't know why anyone would KEEP their GR Corolla, to be honest.

@@CarQuicks Toyota claiming that they won't warranty a sportscar that the ECU logged as having been driven up to 114mph at one point in time isn't misinformation though. They are selling sportscars but not warranting them for being used as such. I had issues with Toyota not warranting my 2021 BMW Supra (bought new) that was burning a quart of oil every 700-1,000 miles. I wound up dumping the car- they don't stand behind their sportscars.

I wouldn't be. Those are outliers to the overall idea. Considering how often cars in general can catch on fire, we would be riding horses if that worried us. Lol. The 85MPH thing I have no concern on, for example where we live the toll road is 85MPH, so someone would legit have a case of legally driving that speed. But overall I would not concern myself with that being something that will happen.
As a point of note, in 2023/2024 Toyota sold roughly 5700 GR corollas on record as of right now. There have been 2 confirmed cases of a Gr Corolla "catching fire" without an accident being involved - one where the owner admitted to going 130mph before it happened, and BOTH of which had just been serviced (a few different things could have caused that one from everything I have read). One running theory is that oil/gasoline got into the turbocharger which explains why both cars were on the highway prior to this occurring, they weren't casually driving around town from what I am aware of. That is a total 0.03% chance. Less than a percent of a percent, to the tune of 3 out of 10,000. Food for thought.
Got a Premium Plus coming with no ADM. Now that the production has no limit, that might be helping. I only added the extra frame brace to the order. My understanding is the clutch has changed too. It automatically adjust itself to full clamping force as the clutch wears.
I've never had an issue with the clutch, so if they have tweaked some things most likely its for the best. Overall the increased production is a better thing for consumers because I had to fight to avoid ADM.
Front end has grown on me and painting the bottom portion really solves the issue with its looks. The auto to me is a bonus for continuing the cars development. Hopefully it continues to mature the aftermarket.
@@CarQuicks yeah, if they would paint the bottom and the black plastic parts on the ends that surround the new airflow gaps to the color of the car, it would look a lot better.
Now that I think about it. Why add the auto transmission with that ugly but functional front grill if auto trans owners are not the enthusiast target demographic? As someone who just loves the look of the car and will probably almost never rally this car. The auto transmission is why I waited to buy. It would have been my daily. But as a daily auto transmission owner I don't need that functional ugly bumper. Im just ranting cuz I no longer desire this car with the new bumper and its a big bummer.
You do have a angle there about the bumper design to what most auto owners will do, but I also noticed Toyota released a new GR Cup series GR Corolla that is running the DAT auto, so this is a push to be in motorsports with the auto. At least from what I can see.

Nope, never, not a chance. I still much prefer my loaded 23 Core. I could care less about the auto being slightly quicker. Toyota already stated that the auto will account for 15-20% of the total volume.

The current GR Corolla doesn't catch on fire. I know that's short in answer, but let me give some context, because this comes up a lot, as of recent... unfortunately. There are about 6,000 GR Corollas that have been sold in the US. Two of them caught on fire, and with a lot of misinformation and missing evidence. The jury is still out on exactly how those fires started. One of those cars was rebuilt from an accident for example. Myself and a few friends have been driving these cars well past 30,000 miles, daily, modified as well, track days, back roads... this car is SOLID. An amazing performer and not something you should worry about, or fear over a couple sensationalized stories. For reference, the metric on car fires for say a Ford F150 is 10 times higher than a GR Corolla. Go enjoy the car and have fun!
When you take an economy car and manipulate it into a rally race street car buy the first few years is a bad idea!! They using those buyers to fund the rest of the manipulation that they didn’t complete!! So annoying!! Should have just gave us in the US the Yaris!!
To give some context, the GR Corolla and GR Yaris were made at the same time. The GR Yaris was released first the GR Corolla was delayed due to COVID. Both cars are built on the same assembly line, with the same engine, drivetrain, so they are the same car in the quality built.
Is Toyota Increasing Production units for the GR Corolla? They planned 6.5k units for each production year.. YET they Only made 5,739 units for Both MY 23 & MY 24 combined... If they aren't increasing the production units to the yearly 6.5k units then the Automatic Transmission isn't doing much other than adding Mark-ups for the Dealerships and reducing sales because not many enthusiasts want the automatic transmission... I my opinion, the Automatic Transmission is the Dumbest idea since the Greedy Dealership will Only order the Automatic Transmission option because the MSRP is higher. Don't complain about Not being able to Buy a Manual Transmission GR Corolla and Sales figures decline and Toyota cancels the GR Corolla.
You definitely have valid points to this... because if the units are not properly pushed up in production, then yes, the battle will be dealers trying to create a rarity among the manual cars. Mainly because the sales will probably be much higher then the manual cars. It will be interesting to see how this plays out this coming year.
LOL. Never I bought this car over a year ago, but I also am aware that every car gets upgraded as the model years carry on. For me, manual is my go to, but I won't knock those who prefer the new DAT.

This is no longer true. DCTs are significantly faster than manuals and you don't lose any boost when shifting. That being said, I won't be caught dead driving a AT GRC bc manual just more fun and makes cooler noises
I wouldn't say it'd lose that much power, because new autos are incredibly efficient, but what you may gain in efficient shifting you lose in deriver engagement.

Very true! The missing fog lights I noticed right away, so I am content with my 23'.
At First glance of the bumper I hated it but after hearing your explanation and seeing the heavy metal color I like it alot more.

The Golf R buyers is a good way to look at this, though I think Toyota would need further interior changes to entice those buyers who have a borderline luxury hatchback. For me I'm in the same boat, I'm not taking all these mods off. LOL!

Just bought a Red 2024 Premium for 39,500 so no brainer for me. 2025 Premium in transit coming in is 47,500. November so I new I could stand my ground with 3k discount as they had 3 on the lot that must go in 2 months. I do not like the new 2025 front bumper (no fog lights!, come on man) or intakes on the hood. Looks wise I think it looks over done now. The added 20 torque is meh (tune the 2024 and add a down pipe you will get 350) and they did nothing about diff overheat. If you want one of these I seriously suggest looking for a 2024 at a discount now and not a 2025 at full cost (or even markup)!
The absolute best deals are the ones in 23-24 where you don't care for the upgrades or bumper change. The core of the car is the same. And you'll save a ton.

biggest issue with the auto is that's all most dealers will stock. will be very hard to find a GRC with 3 pedals going forward. same thing happened to veloster N & elantra N (although those DCT's are extremely good).
That is something to remember because auto cars sell more, so manual versions may become more rare.
I'm sticking with my 2024. Might just change the bumper at some point but the differences don't warrant trading it in at all imo

Idk feel like the new front is too over the top. Prefer the subtle smooth old front end its a sleeper. If i was younger like straight out of high school i feel i would of preferred the new one🤷♂️ thats just me though
New front end is definitely more aggressive, but the 2023-24 model years nailed the front so well, I can't see it being beat.
If the facelift had more body color on the front to break up the grill it would look really good to me
The bottom portion being painted will improve the look a lot. You'll see plenty of owners doing that right after they get them.
As you all know Toyota has their new 400hp Turbo 4 coming out later on for the MR2 and Celica. My fingers are crossed that this engine will eventually find its way into the GR Corolla and possibly the GR86 but having said that…the crazies already have Toyota’s 3cyl up to 1000hp! I know reliability will take a dent or two but still incredible…
I have my eyes peeled to that new Celica or MR2, those will be very exciting!

I have a 2024 premium, and I can't wait to trade it in for the automatic. I am not hating on the manual. I have owned many, but this car's manual just doesn't drive like a typical manual it feels oddly different than any car I have ever owned with it. Plus, the weak clutch and transmission is a large weak spot for this car (besides the valves) and the amount of $ and effort needed to make the (clutch/transmission) driveline strong enough to hold at the 350/400 hp range isn't worth the effort to me not to mention the lack of very few good transmission option's for parts upgrade to hold more power. The Auto should be fine at that level, plus be predictable on launches over and over and over. I am really looking at the premium + but I can't stand the roof! I am much more into a traditional carbon weave pattern then the cheap looking flat forged carbon. And it appears like the heads-up display is only on the Plus 😬 wonder If the interior extra gloss black pieces are in the Plus as well 🤔
I do want to test out the Automatic GRC, even if a majority hate the idea, but I see where this makes sense for a lot of people. And Mr. Morizo himself was behind the development. The gloss black is still there so prepare for that life! LOL!
What if toyota sells an upgrade package for last years 2023 and 2024 Gr Corolla. Suspension, Engine Performance, and Brakes cooling.
I'd imagine if they did they would charge something like $2500-$5000 and then we would have to ask if its worth it compared to the aftermarket. But packages like the old days of the Neon SRT4 would be cool.
The auto trans needs that added sub-rad to keep things cool

sub-radiator AND a trans cooler is on board, which I'd imagine may complicate things more so than help.

You need more context to those sensational articles. But for some perspective, if you are truly interested in the GR Corolla… between 5-6000 have been sold in the US.
The same exact motor is in the GR Yaris, built in the same factory. There are somewhere around, and I’m guessing, 15,000+ out in the world.
We saw 2 articles about 2 GRCs where there has been documented questionable history on one of the cars. 1 of which was rebuilt.
Don’t worry about any of that. The car is solid because if there was fires happening, you would have heard about this since the GR Yaris.
From what I heard it has and air cooled transmission cooler and a water cooled one.
I did see there is some cooler only for the automatic and the additional radiator cooler.

Same engine components, the tune for the boost has been changed to increase the torque.
Bought a 2024 GTI earlier this year, the 2025 GR Corolla might make me regret that! Might look into an automatic GR in the next couple years, only thing I don’t like about the Toyota is that interior… no center console?
Yeah, we definitely had our money spent on the drivetrain and not the interior, but its still quality, it may not have alacantara/suede, leather, but its built solidly. The armrest thing I had to use the aftermarket to fix.

The automatic transmission cost an additional $2K and it's worth every penny. I drove a manual for 10 years and will never do that again. Especially when you drive in stop and go traffic every day.

I do remember a few graphs on the wind turbulence, though I do prefer the CE Wing over the Epilson, just by my own tastes. The wing I would love has still not been made.
I'm keeping my 23 fully loaded core. I don't think it's worth it to trade. The main selling point is the frontend refresh and the automatic transmission variant and that doesn't appeal to me at all.

My previous car was a S2000 so I would probably be in the same boat if I kept that cat too. Thats another point too to the new DAT transmission, there are many people who have all the manual cars they need and do like the experience of the car, but want an easier drive.
No it’s the same engine and car. A few changes it’s not worth it.. My 2023 make 303whp and 310tq with only a SXTH intercooler and full customer hot & cold side charge pipes. If you want buy a better radiator and you can buy break cooling kit. Plus no fog lights. If you want a automatic then go for it. The suspension mods seems exciting. They should have addressed the differential cooling and slightly better valve springs. Run your car on a mustang dyno with your mods your car makes more than a 2025 stock.
Yup, you are absolutely right. This is more an exercise in "out loud thinking" then me actually wanting to trade in. For sure, the lack of fog lights is a miss from Toyota, and having a friend with the same SXTH intercooler and charge pipes, the way this car wakes up with just that mod is amazing.
i still welcome the auto, don't get me wrong... it'll keep sales up to keep the GRC to stick around.

Suspension I would argue the aftermarket can help with. The Cooling if you want the auto would be the big deciding factor.
If you’ve got the Duckets…keep your old and order the new one. I say this because I love manuals BUT an automatic GR Corolla will be a quicker go cart…especially if you throw the aftermarket at it!😁👍

I agree! A lot of people still don’t know how to drive manuals so the autos should be a hit. On the Car Wow channel they tested it already and…it looks fun without the clutch issues that I just heard about. I loved my FK8 manual but I sure wished that Honda or especially Acura would’ve developed an auto FWD and an AWD model…even if it was electric motor rear drive…like the ERAY but reversed. Definitely think that there’d be a market for it…

@@CarQuicks Toyota claiming that they won't warranty a sportscar that the ECU logged as having been driven up to 114mph at one point in time isn't misinformation though. They are selling sportscars but not warranting them for being used as such.
I had issues with Toyota not warranting my 2021 BMW Supra (bought new) that was burning a quart of oil every 700-1,000 miles. I wound up dumping the car- they don't stand behind their sportscars.

They didn't announce pricing but I think it all stays relatively the same, so a Premium Plus will be around $42K.

I wouldn't be. Those are outliers to the overall idea. Considering how often cars in general can catch on fire, we would be riding horses if that worried us. Lol. The 85MPH thing I have no concern on, for example where we live the toll road is 85MPH, so someone would legit have a case of legally driving that speed. But overall I would not concern myself with that being something that will happen.
As a point of note, in 2023/2024 Toyota sold roughly 5700 GR corollas on record as of right now.
There have been 2 confirmed cases of a Gr Corolla "catching fire" without an accident being involved - one where the owner admitted to going 130mph before it happened, and BOTH of which had just been serviced (a few different things could have caused that one from everything I have read). One running theory is that oil/gasoline got into the turbocharger which explains why both cars were on the highway prior to this occurring, they weren't casually driving around town from what I am aware of.
That is a total 0.03% chance. Less than a percent of a percent, to the tune of 3 out of 10,000. Food for thought.
Got a Premium Plus coming with no ADM. Now that the production has no limit, that might be helping. I only added the extra frame brace to the order.
My understanding is the clutch has changed too. It automatically adjust itself to full clamping force as the clutch wears.
I've never had an issue with the clutch, so if they have tweaked some things most likely its for the best. Overall the increased production is a better thing for consumers because I had to fight to avoid ADM.

Front end has grown on me and painting the bottom portion really solves the issue with its looks. The auto to me is a bonus for continuing the cars development. Hopefully it continues to mature the aftermarket.

Now that I think about it. Why add the auto transmission with that ugly but functional front grill if auto trans owners are not the enthusiast target demographic? As someone who just loves the look of the car and will probably almost never rally this car. The auto transmission is why I waited to buy. It would have been my daily. But as a daily auto transmission owner I don't need that functional ugly bumper. Im just ranting cuz I no longer desire this car with the new bumper and its a big bummer.
You do have a angle there about the bumper design to what most auto owners will do, but I also noticed Toyota released a new GR Cup series GR Corolla that is running the DAT auto, so this is a push to be in motorsports with the auto. At least from what I can see.
What I don't get, is why people are so surprised that a Corolla is getting an automatic transmission.
Mainly because Toyota spoke so much about the purity of th car remaining manual when it first was released. But this idea was inevitable.

The auto trans is for left foot braking. You can balance the car a lot smoother when you are able to overlap the brake and gas in corners.
I'm sure for the true racers that'll be a deciding factor on if they concern themselves with shifting or driving fast.

Nope, never, not a chance. I still much prefer my loaded 23 Core. I could care less about the auto being slightly quicker. Toyota already stated that the auto will account for 15-20% of the total volume.
I see people who can not drive manual, are unable to or have really bad commutes going this route, but I am happy where I am.

I know that's short in answer, but let me give some context, because this comes up a lot, as of recent... unfortunately.
There are about 6,000 GR Corollas that have been sold in the US.
Two of them caught on fire, and with a lot of misinformation and missing evidence. The jury is still out on exactly how those fires started. One of those cars was rebuilt from an accident for example.
Myself and a few friends have been driving these cars well past 30,000 miles, daily, modified as well, track days, back roads... this car is SOLID. An amazing performer and not something you should worry about, or fear over a couple sensationalized stories.
For reference, the metric on car fires for say a Ford F150 is 10 times higher than a GR Corolla. Go enjoy the car and have fun!

To give some context, the GR Corolla and GR Yaris were made at the same time. The GR Yaris was released first the GR Corolla was delayed due to COVID.
Both cars are built on the same assembly line, with the same engine, drivetrain, so they are the same car in the quality built.
Is Toyota Increasing Production units for the GR Corolla? They planned 6.5k units for each production year.. YET they Only made 5,739 units for Both MY 23 & MY 24 combined...
If they aren't increasing the production units to the yearly 6.5k units then the Automatic Transmission isn't doing much other than adding Mark-ups for the Dealerships and reducing sales because not many enthusiasts want the automatic transmission...
I my opinion, the Automatic Transmission is the Dumbest idea since the Greedy Dealership will Only order the Automatic Transmission option because the MSRP is higher. Don't complain about Not being able to Buy a Manual Transmission GR Corolla and Sales figures decline and Toyota cancels the GR Corolla.
You definitely have valid points to this... because if the units are not properly pushed up in production, then yes, the battle will be dealers trying to create a rarity among the manual cars. Mainly because the sales will probably be much higher then the manual cars.

This is no longer true. DCTs are significantly faster than manuals and you don't lose any boost when shifting. That being said, I won't be caught dead driving a AT GRC bc manual just more fun and makes cooler noises
I wouldn't say it'd lose that much power, because new autos are incredibly efficient, but what you may gain in efficient shifting you lose in deriver engagement.
