Love the video. I lived just a block away from the Moana Hotel way back on 1956. Only five or six hotels there then, very little traffic and Kalakua had two way traffic. The Royal Hawaiian and the Moana really stood out by themselves. It was a very special time to live there. I have precious memories of living there and being a young school teacher up in the Manoa Valley. I have traveled the world but Hawaii still calls…. Aloha
What a great video! Definitely one of the best of you. Thank you so much dear friend! Best weekend present ever! Great! Great! Great job!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow!! What is so cool my husband and I are watching your video reminiscing about our October Hawaii vacation and at time stamp 28:46 we just happens to see ourselves and our family walking at night on your video. That was so cool. Thank you!! ☺️ Unbelievable
Oh that's so fun! I sometimes look at upload dates on walking videos and wonder if I'll be in one too! By the way, I can tell that these Hawaiian videos have been filmed in the last couple of years as the pandemic has prevented Japanese tourists from happily travelling the way they used to. Hawaii normally has LOADS of Japanese tourists and young couples but in recent videos they are noticeably absent. I love Japan. I hope and your family will get to holiday there (if you haven't already) just as soon as international tourism goes 'back to normal'. :) International air travel from the UK where I live is still unreliable so I'm staying put-- and masks have to go before I consider spending thousands of pounds and travelling for 15 hours! Hawaii is terrific, I'd love to go back again as I'm sure you would too. :D

I love coincidences like that. I wish there was a better name because I don't think these things happen by accident. We are guided to things by someone that loves us. ❤️ Thank you for sharing.
Greetings again from Siem Reap, Cambodia. Thanks so much for your beautiful video. I lived and worked in Hawai'i for 9 years. It's nice to be able to go back and visit through your videos.
This is way me and my little sister Emma moved from Hollywood Hills Los Angeles California to Honolulu Hawaii a month ago love the Hawaiian lifestyle chill 😎 💕 beautiful weather 😍 ❤️ ♥️
Wonderful video. I've walked those sidewalks in the evening for years when I was there. Nice to see what has changed since my last visit. Appears that Ruth Chris is closed. Thanks for pausing at the Park Shore Hotel. That's usually where I stay. They've redone the lobby since my last visit. It's always so peaceful to sit there rest before proceeding up to my room.
Very nice video! How does the nightlife/location of the Westin Moana Surfrider compare with the Hilton Hawaiian Village? I’m trying to decide which place to stay for a vacation.
Moana Surfrider is more on the strip and right next to the popular Kuhio beach, so the walkability to different shops and restaurants is better. Hilton Hawaiian Village is at the other end of the strip and is more self contained within its own complex of shops and restaurants. So Moana Surfrider is more like a hotel with plenty of things to do right outside; Hilton Hawaiian Village is more like a resort with plenty of things to do inside.
@@oaktree1628 Yeah Dylan got it 100%. Hilton Hawaiian Village has more space in the complex and the beach is wider and less crowded. Moana Surfrider is historic. If you have a thing for early 1900s Hawaii that's the place! (along with the Royal Hawaiian, right next door). Or go there in the evening for the hula under the giant tree in the patio...
"If you see this comment, I want to thank you for living with me on the same planet. You are not alone in this world. I hope this comment can make at least one person a little bit happy. This is all I want and wish good health to you
I was envisioning something less cosmopolitan and horrendously crowded. My "section" of beach across from the Alohilani was very narrow, small and crowded, too many high rises. Masses of traffic... I was so dissappointed, should have gone to a smaller island. My son live in Honolulu 26 y's ago and was dissappointed then too. Funny How I knew he was in a high rise but didn't expect it when I was there in March. Now when I watch Hawaii 5-0 and see all the city life I wonder why I didn't realize that it was like that ! Glad I went though !
There are allover these green long metal containers on the street. Are they for trash? Sounds like a stupid question, but I am German, living in Berlin, but sure they look different over here. Always overfilled, not separated (plastics, paper, foods) and not enough. Can somebody answer my question? Have a nice day!
I'm sooo god damn jealous of those who get to eat shrooms and walk around sceneries like this! Sober too though, of course. One small thing I've noticed that I think over time I still wouldn't get used to is how everybody walks. They all waddle and most almost violently change directions with their hands/arms on the up/down swing; it's funny and slightly off-putting at the same time. Absolutely stunning looking place to live though, I couldn't ever imagine being normalized to this fantasy.
What people don’t understand is that all is not what it seems Hawaii especially Waikiki is a slum that the tourist industry will not show or tell you about reality here l have live here for well over 50 plus years as I was born here yesI lived on the mainland as well but Hawaii has become a sewer with lots and lots of homeless and being attacked by drug addicts is very common being slashed and stabbed for no reason walking through Waikiki streets, I myself never walk on those streets of fear being attacked also murder and robbery rates are at an all time high Please folks be careful and don’t walk alone especially women as here in Hawaii we have a lot of rapes also the Democratic Party keep letting criminals go free and really the police can’t do much because of this situation the only reason I stay in Hawaii is because of my family ties This video is one sided as criminals know that tourists will not come back for their arrest court hearing so they are set free especially those Japanese tourists who get beaten and almost killed

I’d pick Hawaii but the girls are prettier and nicer in LA and in the end it’s really all about people not places
@@lyran2818 you’re legitimately crazy if you think the fake girls in SoCal are hotter than true Pacific Islander women. Maybe do some real traveling.

Hi.. is is Safe to walk from Waikiki Beach to Kaimana Beach/San Souci Beach at Night??? Please let me know, Thanks!!
Yes it is very nice and safe, you can walk along the sand most of the way.
Late at night the bars along Kuhio street can get a little sketchy
It looks pretty much like it did forty years ago
It was understanding that the beaches were closed at nite b patrolled or maybe it was just the Royal Hawaiian
Like 👍
OMG
Thank you for sharing.i better off to Maui. This is way too touristy

stop crying go to another beach there for crying out loud
At 51:50 this reminds me of the old international market place in the 80's. Where is this location?
It's called Duke's Marketplace along Duke's Lane.
Thanks to you it is now
on my bucket list.
