A lot of hard work here. Quite a production. But that only really matters if there is value in the content, of which this is massively jam packed. VWD.
yes I was thinking how this must’ve been quite a workout. not only doing the walking but also talking the whole time + conveying all the info to us fellow travelers in a friendly way. So much to learn here. Great job, Chris! We all appreciate you very much! I’m gonna move to Oahu next year & your videos are helping me get a lay of the land 🤙🏻
Aloha! Mahalo for making this video! I am a homesick lady from Hawaii and haven’t been home for 8 years. I grew up in Waikiki before all the hotels were there. You did a fantastic job!! So shocking how little sand is in front of hotels now from the oceans rising. Where there were 50 yards of sand to the ocean there is none.
This is my first comment on any UA-cam video EVER! I live in Hawaii and found your video enlightening as I don't walk in Waikiki day or night.I'm happy tourism is alive and thriving! Your knowledge of Waikiki and the islands in general is amazing! No matter the content I enjoy your videos 100%!
Loved the video! I make it a point to work out to get in shape for my trips. Made it 3.5 miles straight with this video. I’ve stayed at several hotels in Waikiki and just sent this to my parents who another trip to the Hale Koa in a couple of weeks. We love your content and always recommend your videos to our friends and family!
Lived in Hawaii from 1971 to 2001. Since I've left Hawaii this visit back via your video is mind blowing! So much has changed in Waikiki I hardly recognize anything anymore. Interesting. "🤙"
love seeing the the inside of other hotels,,,, so very exquisite. We stay at the Illikai that we love for the peace & quiet. It’s beautiful like the others albeit abit more simplistic.
I like getting the perspective from behind the hotels and restaurants. Gives a better idea about the restaurants and how they are positioned relative to the beach, etc. Our hotel was a little further away from the action (Prince Waikiki). We had eaten at Dukes and House Without a Key back 20:00 in April. Miss Waikiki and would go back in a second if we ever have another opportunity!
Subbed! Really enjoyed this video! Followed you from the beginning to end of this video! Been there myself walked through Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenue, but based from what I've seen, there are some spots I haven't known/seen without watching this Waikiki walkthrough! Used to come there a lot almost every year (for at least 10 years) vacationing with my friend in 1990s to early 2000s. The last time I was in Oahu was like 10 years ago. So, yeah, I really appreciate this video! And I'm so due to go back, I missed that place! Thank you! Great video and narration is top-notched! Mahalo! 🙂
I was so excited to see another Hawaii video pop up! Really enjoyed a lengthy walking tour. This will be very helpful for my trip. Especially loved spotting a vegetarian udon option at Udon Yama & this is close to where I am staying too :)
Funny, I just got back from a full month's stay. Yes, after a while, Waikiki does get to be too much, but I still seem to come back year after year. Mahalo 🤙 I do enjoy Chris, your "Yellow Production" vlogs & your take on Waikiki 😊
That cylindrical hotel is one of my favorite places to stay. It is the Aston Circle Waikiki Hotel. The top floors with ocean front rooms have a fantastic view of the water. KITT from knight rider stood for Knight Industries two thousand. Did you remember that? 😊
Aloha, i really enjoyed watching. Im stuck in ca and soon returning resident of Oahu. You did a great job overall. The walk you took felt like my own. I know aĺl the spots you visited. Some are favorites lol. Mahalo for your video.
Hi Chris My wife and I enjoy watching your videos. We have been fortunate enough to visit Hawaii on multiple occasions over the years from our home in the Midwest. We usually hit the Big Island, Maui and/or Oahu. I agree with the comment about liking the “old” International Market Place when it had kiosks like those now in Duke’s Lane, but change I guess is inevitable. Hope you got to put your feet up after that walk! Keep up the good work and keep traveling and sharing your videos with us!
Thanks for your Hawaii videos. My son is going to Hawaii for his first solo trip. There is an event going on at the Convention Center. And told him we’re to go for cheap eats. I also gave him a list of stuff to bring home. Since it will be awhile for the rest of us to go to Hawaii
Great walking tour! Brought back memories of our trip to Waikiki in 2009, when we stayed at the Halekulani. (Couldn’t afford to stay there now!) To answer your question about Honolulu Cookie Company cookies, we love them because of their texture and unique flavors. For instance, Costco offered some guava flavored ones a couple of years ago that were good. The first ones we ever ate were a more normal flavor on Hawaiian Airlines, but I noticed last time we flew with them that they don’t seem to be giving those out on their flights anymore. More cutbacks, I’m sure!
Love this video, Chris! It wasn't that long, I enjoyed it seeing Waikiki again. Husband & I were there for the first time back in Feb 2020. Back when Covid 19 was just starting. Seems a lot has changed since then 😁. I miss Hawai'i and hope to come back soon Keep them Hawai'i videos coming. Would love to watch them over and over again ❤️ ~ love from Sydney Down Under 😘
Enjoyed the video, we’ve been home (Sydney, Australia) for 5 days from our latest trip to Hawaii. We always stay at the Moana Surfrider and unfortunately the Beach Club there was closed a few years ago which is disappointing. Also, just fyi, your shoes are pronounced “bond eye” after Bondi beach which is a very famous beach in Sydney. Love your videos, always fun and very informative 🙂
Ah. That's sad that the Moana Surfrider closed the lounge. Do they have a replacement anywhere or just no lounge anymore? And thanks for the pronunciation update on the shoes 👞
Hi Chris! Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your long walking video. Even more so since I will be revisiting Oahu in a few months and stay at the Waikiki Malia which I am so glad to have seen you walk by. Gives me a good idea of the place and the food eats surrounding the hotel. Thanks again Chris! God bless.
This was a fun video to see many places I usually visit when I am in Waikiki. One of these days I hope to run into you if not in the OC but somewhere out there...aloha!
Aloha Chris. Great night walking tour of Waikiki. I was sad when the International Market Place charged to a modern shopping mall. It had a lot of character and added something different to Waikiki. I'm glad that they didn't get rid of the Banyan tree. You did a great job of pronouncing the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel.👍🤙 Mahalo and take care.
Enjoyed mate longer format is good, going myself from UK in november and kept an eye on some places for cheap eats, thanks - also can you recommend anywhere close to Hilton village for a drink past 10.30pm? maybe a sports bar
I’m going in a couple of weeks. Changed hotels due to the strike, so I’ll be in new territory since I’ve only stayed at the Hilton Village or Hale Koa over the years. I’ll warm it up for you, mate. Have a great visit!
So an hour viewing for us, is how many hours filming and editing for you?! Appreciate you, thanks for bringing Waikiki to life (been many times, heading back early Nov). Much love from Sydney, Australia.
Hi Chris can u do a recent video on somewhat reasonable hotels in the Waikiki/Ala Moana area for those on tight budgets? Love ur vids n new subbie here!
I've done this beach walk many times in the evenings. I often stay at the Radisson, across from the Hilton Hwn Village. It's at the end of Waikiki and easy to get out fast. Once, I ran back and made the fireworks show. Sat right below it. Another time, I ran back and wasn't going to make it, so I had to watch it from behind the Outrigger... ☹️
Hi Love the video hows the Japanese coffee have you tried it..? You just went through the Japanese super market..and I was wondering what the coffee would be like The Hawaiian coffee isn't strong enough for me. I'm from Australia..xx
I have a video idea if you like creaks go to millani tech park down the hill then go to woodcreek crossing on the left there should be a place to go down
Are you born in 1920s because this comment is wildly uneducated. It’s like the Japanese only came to Hawaii after the war. JK they’ve been here since 1885. Hawaii at one point wanted to be a part of Japan before it was forced into becoming a state but Japan didn’t want to do it because of the issues it would have caused in the late 1800s.

Waikiki is magical

Thanks, Chris! The information in your videos helps immensely. My wife thinks I am a travel agent due to the knowledge I have based on your videos
Thanks so much npw!!! Really appreciate your support!
I love your long form content. I'm actually a huge fan of walking tours where people narrate while walking.
Awesome. Thanks Daily Dares!

Mahalo for the video, I really enjoyed it. I used to walk from Ft. De Russy to the Moana, I love those walks.
Very enjoyable tour, love Waikiki
Thanks Phil!

Thank you for the details video, Chris!
Any time!
Thank you for the great video! The beach erosion is a bit yikes.
I love the food at Duke's 😂 I also love the Honolulu Cookie Company. We obviously have different tastes 😅

Not too many cuts or retakes on this video.. so probably about 2 hours of filming time. Then about 3 hours of post production/editing time
💜💜💜
Hi Chris can u do a recent video on somewhat reasonable hotels in the Waikiki/Ala Moana area for those on tight budgets? Love ur vids n new subbie here!

Great video
Thanks!
Very cool video😊
Thank you 🤗
Hey yellow! From your picture that is the same hyatt regency tower i have been in when you posted the video. Would have liked to say hello in person.
Neat! Of course when I posted the video it means I'm not actually there anymore.. takes some time to edit so I always do that back home
I've done this beach walk many times in the evenings. I often stay at the Radisson, across from the Hilton Hwn Village. It's at the end of Waikiki and easy to get out fast. I was there in January, I don't remember the beach being so eroded.
The tide was also pretty high when I was shooting this. You may have been at a lower tide

I've never stayed. But friends that have stayed and have kids have enjoyed it.
👍🏽 ❤
Chris why don't they add more land on Oahu?😎
Hi Chris, will you be doing any restaurant reviews in Waikiki?
Hi Reginald. I didn't shoot any on this most recent trip no
Saturday, August 24th is Duke Kahanamoku's birthday (born 1890)
show all the night life - clubs - huge scene
àrea de recuo da Marinha? Muitas construções na praia.
You said you can use the restroom at the hotels, you need a key card to use most of the hotel restrooms
Usually the restrooms near the restaurants are open
If you want a sand beach go to Malibu or Santa Monica, California!!!!!!!
Or Coronado California 😀
@@YellowProductions YES!
