@@SamSitar Don't do that. Don't take that risk for only $5. And after atrip of about 20 minutes you still have to buy a Metrocard for the next subway ride (A train). Several Card available even 7 Days unlimited. If you won't spend that $5 don't go to NYC and stay home.................!!!
For these who arrive to New York, after a long flight, with bags, passports and money, Imho it really worth to pay 5 bucks, in particular at night. Looks safe anyway. 💰🤷♂️🔫😏
Good video. Annoying they increased the fare to $7.75. What I do is take the Airtrain to Lefferts Boulevard from the terminal then I’ll take the Q10 to the E/F to get to Manhattan to have only a 2.75 fare. But it’s not great during rush hours.
Idk if you know but a better way to avoid the fare is you can exit thru the emergency door at the brooklyn bound station at Howard Beach-JFK all the way up front and theres an entrance thru the escalators
What isn't a bad idea is getting your Uber from there or to there instead of the terminal. Depending on where you are going you can save at least $5 or $6.
omg...I'm laughing because that was the same thought when I saw this video....but I do appreciate how this video educate us to see if it is worth the time and effort to save $5. Hats off to actionkid105
After the last power outage in my neighborhood (I live in Downtown Columbus, OH) none of the streetlights on my block work. Kind of reminds me the last time I walked home after dark. I may give this a try when I go in another month or so. I arrive at like 4 in the afternoon so there should be better lighting. Thanks for the tip!
The screaming guy coming out of the terminal wasn't so good for station reputation. Although, it's pretty safe I can say. But I'm 6'4 so no one really messes with me.

or you can take of one of the city bus to the subway. take airtrain to LEFFERTS BLVD.. and take the q 10 limited to Lefferts blvd SUBWAY STATION then hop on the A TRAIN
@@ActionKid you can get that any airline terminal at a Hudson newsstand. they all over. plus going back to the airport and if you want to avoid howard beach taking the Lefferts A TRAIN IS ONE WAY TO THE Q10. OR TAKETHE F TRAIN TO 179 StREET AND TAKE THE Q3
See, that does the trick for a real budget travaller and is a great way to save some money, when you come to NYC for the first time without much experience you might take a taxi cab to manhattan and pay a fortune, second time around with some more information, you might take the airtrain to Howard Beach or Jamaica and pay 5 bucks and the subway fare on top, but with even more experience you might figure, that you just have to get to Howard Beach grab a Metrocard and go back one station to Lefferts Blvd to catch the bus Q10 to Ozone Park Subway Station or even further to Kew Gardens. Other options also avalable ex. B15 to New Lots - but you will need a Metrocard first or exact change in order to take a bus. Its kinda fun to save some money in NYC cause everything is expensive.
Your information is not correct. You can't grab a Metrocard because you have to go outside of the Howard Beach Station area to grab one. FIRST you have to pay to pass the Airtrain gates before you reach the right vandingmachines !!!
@@01ruudjemulder Not at Howard Beach you don't when you leave the Airtrain you will walk into a greater hall with the vending machines, get a Metrocard there and then pay with it the Airtrain and Subway fare as you pass the gates, which will lead you to the Howard Beach Subway Station - its other than the Jamaica Station, though, if I don't misstaken - I think that's how it works at Howard Beach, otherwise I stand corrected. But otherwise it won't make sense at all anyways, coming from a Terminal with the Airtrain you need a Metrocard first in order to exit the Airport system and enter the Subway Station, so you will need a vending machine fist, all you got to do is grab the Card an return to Leffers Blvd
@@ActionKid I didn't realized that the next A Train Subway Station coming after Howard Beach is that close to the Airport - it just a 15 min walk - I guess its not very pleasant to walk in the dark and rain, though
There are news stands and vending machines in the airport to buy an unlimited weekly Metrocard. Then take the Q10 to Liberty Ave to catch the A at Lefferts.
This will be essential for all those people I always see flying in for the first time and getting confused at the machine while trying to buy their way OUT of AirTrain and onto the subway. They always wind up putting waaaay too much money on the card. And sometimes after all that--they even somehow forget to buy an AirTrain ticket. Clear them out of the way and it'll be better for the rest of us.
From "JFK Terminal" using the Airtrain, Can I just get out to "Lefferts Blvd Airtrain Train Station" and walk in the "Long Term Parking Lot" to get in the "Howard Beach A Subway Station" to avoid paying the $7.75 and only pay for the $2.75 A Train Subway? Thank you.
That’s exactly what I want to know. Looks like you can get to the airtrain station but would still need to get to the Metro station across tracks? Would probably have to pay the fee anyway.
actionkid105. You better show us a trip from The Staten Island Ferry, trough Battery Park along the Hudson River uptown instead of this unsafe trip!!! Beware that they don't take your camera. Ruud Mulder The Netherlands
Since when is there an AirTrain fee at JFK? Granted it's been a few years since I've flown out of JFK, but I never had to pay to ride the AirTrain. Great Video!!
i am so lost right now. at the end u ended up in another subway station isnt the goal to get to JFK ? i am very new . i dont know . wouldnt it be better if u transfer to the station u ended up at ? huh . what to do after u ended up at the station at the end of the video? so i have to pay double subway fair ? what.

I agree, if you're carrying a lot of luggage, then this long trek detour to the A train to save $5.00 isn't worth it. Personally, I would just call a taxi or car service to my destination.
But if you live here, and travel often and travel light, enjoy walking, and have never been raped or mugged, this is the walk of shame for you! And by you, I mean, me.
I hate how us Americans hog the escalator. In Japan, you stand to the left, let people pass on the right (except Osaka, which is reverse, for some reason). Come on people, show some common sense. .
People let other pass on the escalators here too. If you go to Grand Central Terminal during rush hour it’s pretty common on the escalators there. I guess it just really depends where.
