Thank you very much for this video!! Im from Russia, Saint-Petersburg... i lived in that area with parents in childhood in 90-s.. i really plunged into childhood ))) im crying, cause its my memory and i spend the most perfect years at that time ;))
Thank u for the video. I spent 1968-1977 every Saturday driving with my parents from Suffolk to Richmond hill to visit my grandparents. The lived a block south of Atlantic ave but I remember coming north to metropolitan ave and Jamaica ave , riding the el, etc. Thanks for helping me remember the good times.
Originally from (Avenue P/ West 8th Street, near the N train.) Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Going into one of my stomping grounds, my first experience of Queens. My first location is at the Freedom Court building on 8603 102nd Street and 86th Avenue. You could easily see the J/Z trains riding by. At 17:47-49, you could the first apartment building after the next block. It's the beige colored building there. Then I later lived in Fresh Meadows (yes, in the apartments.) And after being in Brooklyn again, I went to South Ozone Park ( even though it was considered South Richmond Hill.) and I lived on Liberty Avenue and 115th Street by the A line. Then went back my birthplace.
Since you were right at the entrance to Forrest Park, I'm surprised you didn't start your walk through the park. There's an owl hanging out in the pine trees next to the entrance, you might have been able to record his hoots. I enjoy seeing some of the streets I ride my bike around NYC in your videos.
I grew up under the El at 98th St. and Jamaica Ave. in the early 60's to 1970. It was a nice peaceful neighborhood back then. Our friends that lived on the side streets came from more well to do or upper middle class families. We played almost every day on the abandoned LIRR line at 101st, even in the 60's it was overgrown with bushes & trees.
I absolutely love your videos. I think we share some similar interests. I enjoy public transit, public service departments (fire, ems, public works, DOT, snow removal), watching traffic, coordination of large events. Basically everything that NYC has to offer. I've been there a number of times and am always fascinated. I'd love to live there and spend my free time wandering and enjoying. I dream about working for the MTA as a bus or train operator but I've pretty much planted my roots here in Ohio and have a job that would be tough to give up. I'm into radios and scanners, NYC is a great place for it with their simple old school radio system. Keep up the great videos and I'm glad I found your channel!
Nice video again. I simultaneously compare your video with Google Maps (street view) to take the opportunity to look to the right and left side of the Jamayca Ave !!! Vist often this kind of areas outside of Manhattan. Those trains on first level typical of a suburb, very special those noise. Traveled often with the Subway J/Z line; next time I go of the train at that area. Ruud Mulder The Netherlands
Beautiful walking🚶♂️🚶♀️video indeed, thanks for sharing 👍. Your videos are my inspiration to record more walking videos of Delhi and other Indian cities. 🙏😊🇮🇳
01:20 might just set the tone for this clip; the style of architecture, the leaves swirling in the wind, and the skeleton trees swaying in the distance. Outstanding, 105, it really captures a mood, while invigorating viewers who also like to walk. At 04:10, is the sign "No Standing Anytime" mean no loitering? The houses, with their gables and overlooking porches could be quintessential New York suburbia?
It really is quite an interesting place! At 4:10 the No Standing Anytime sign refers to motor vehicles located next to the curb. See www.newyorksafetycouncil.com/articles/no-parking-vs-no-standing-vs-no-stopping-signs.aspx for some interesting details
You know, I like to visit the neighborhoods of the big cities and to see the houses of the citizens, it is the other face of the Newyork ! thank you very much, if you come to Morocco I'll take care of you.
come again to your home, watch full your video, nice traveling video you have, added blue color like number 153 success more for your channel, thanks, bro 👍👍👍👍👍
Looks like a quiet peaceful neighborhood to start.. Expensive cars, plenty of parking..Cars going kinda fast for a residential neighborhood..Then we go to the area where you live 20 feet from a Subway train car going 100 mph and that scares the crap out of me.. Great video... Showing it like it is...
I remember back in like mid 80's to the late 80's, I went to the playground at the park on 102nd Street and Park Lane South. And we'd walk into the woods near by. Fun times, man. Fun times.
Make a video when you first walk into forest park. To your left it is trees uphill and to the right small stairs where you can find people take wedding photography there. It's a beautiful place
17 years ago the last time I visited Astoria Queens and the famous Italian restaurant the 'GABLES' where Gotti and his family used to dine. Please take a walk around there, love to see it , corner of 44st and Broadway.
The reason I don't like the narration is because we have noise everywhere. Its nice to watch a video in silence and hear the side conversations of the ppl in the video. Will watch either way but love the silence.
I was thinking about interactive commercials on the UA-cam while watching the first part with a Corvette 0:17. Some light UI with a price and fast link to the product or something like that, twitch is using freeloot buttons sometimes
I was struck by the contrast of a pretty residential area compared to the not so pretty commercial street with its overhead (subway) train infrastructure. The businesses on this street looked to me a bit run down too.

I like such descriptions... *But:* For reducing the wind noises put a little piece of a perforated rabbit fur over the place of the microphone. *THAT works.*
@@ActionKid - I think it will have nothing to do with the optical part of filming or with "balances". And the weight of a little piece of a perforated rabbit fur (~6 x 4 mm) may be less than y.xx tons. Get very small stripes of a two-side sticky tape (e.g. for carpets). Fix them around the mic place. And then place the stripe of the fur.
@@MichaelMcAllister - You are right. - However: There is a huge difference. Whether the wind is a noise that everyone can hear (as a natural sound) or whether the noise is a distorsion, a bothering artificial noise that is generated by the wind that goes over the mic of the camera. The natural noise shall not be eliminated but the disturbing one. - See this difference that I thought. "Kid" understood my comment.

Is your new GoPro faulty as a green band keeps randomly flashing across the screen most noticeably after the 17 min mark?
Rarely it will act up like this and flash green/freeze up. I don’t think this particular GoPro is faulty, but rather a bug in the hardware/software.
