Elton is a fantastic singer, musician, pianist and songwriter and you can't detach his vocals from the rest of his artistry. You can always tell when Elton is playing the piano😊

    • @Ocrilat
      @Ocrilat Рік тому

      Yeah, his style is so busy...complex. Another along the same lines is the drummer, Nigel Olsson. His style is so noticeable when he plays...and oddly, he can't read music. He plays by ear.

    • @dan7893
      @dan7893 5 місяців тому

      @@Ocrilat Elton John studied music at the Royal Academy of Music. He can read music. You can't master musical studies without being able to read it because it's part of the studies to analyze compositions on paper etc.

    • @Ocrilat
      @Ocrilat 5 місяців тому +1

      @@dan7893 Right...but I didn't say Elton couldn't read music. His drummer during his golden era could not (and still can't).
      But that didn't stop Nigel Olsson from creating his part in every song he played on. Elton didn't direct the drummer or bassist or whatever at all when they were creating the songs. Each performer decided what they would do on their own, with zero input from Elton or anyone else. It's how they could create so many original songs, so quickly.
      Nigel has also written a few songs on his own too. Elton's original band (Nigel Olsson on drums/vocals, Dee Murray on bass/vocals and Davey Johnstone on guitars/vocals) don't get enough credit, imo.

    Elton is always amazing and Bernie's lyrics are brilliantly poetic. When two geniuses coincide in time and space and merge, the result is epic.

      The best song that Bernie ever wrote lyrics to was DANIEL. He had to actually imagine Elton's brother losing his vision in a plane crash. I couldn't imagine writing a song like that one....

    Elton has provided the beautiful music of a lifetime. He and the members of the band in this video are on your now and it is his final go round. I saw them in Oklahoma City and it was pure magic. He actually visited with the audience and recounted past visits to OKC. It was sad to hear him say it would be his last.
