One summer I didn’t water my phalenopsis for 6-8 weeks. Once I started watering again it triggered all of them to spike. Granted the flowers were not the best show and I wouldn’t recommend this at all. Just wanted to encourage people to not give up if they aren’t “perfect” in their care.
I had to go to Virginia twice recently. My sister had brain cancer that was very aggressive. She unfortunately passed away while I was in her hospital room. I'm not trying to be miserable, I'm sorry. But the important info is my orchids, because I'm a beginner keeper, weren't that great to begin with. But coming back, they look terrible. Some have yellow leaves. I'm not sure if I can save some of them but I'm going to try. They look terrible, but hopefully I can save them. And, I have to say it because I'm still grieving, call the ones you love because you never know when it will be the last time.
I also have this one! And it makes the whole room smell glorious starting in the late morning and for most of the day! Hope your next bloom will give you the scent 🎁
I bought a Phalaenopsis Anthuria Bolgheri which I bought as a scented Orchid and the flowers look very similar if not identical and it smells lovely when its warm and sunny
Yes it’s scented I have the same baby phal for a year now it bloomed in January and I still have the flowers Thanks for sharing all the info It’s the longest I’ve ever had an orchid ❤
Oh, wow! My local grocery store in central Texas is currently carrying phals identical to that one. I know there are some pretty stringent regulations around moving orchids internationally in some places, so it's not likely from the same grower. Convergent breeding, maybe? I'm kind of reminded of the novel Bellwether, about the mysterious ways trends seem to pop up in different places at the same time. It's a gorgeous color - I can see why it'd be popular. Might go grab one, myself!
Hi Danny, a while back I noticed that two of my phals were very dehydrated with the wrinkly leaves, too. They were in bark, so I decided to experiment with Lechuza Pon and put them in self-watering pots, Fast forward to right now and they are doing so well. The leaves have totally plumped up and I have a new leaf on one of them and new roots starting. I was amazed, because I thought i was going to lose them!!
Hi Danni! Thank you for this video! I just received my phalaenopsis orchid last day! I recently uploaded my unboxing containing the said phalaenopsis in this channel. I just started out! for over 10 years, your channel really helped me with orchid growing💚 thank youu so so much!
Just repotted one of my orchids after watching your videos. Used the media and slit pots from report me. Had to cut quite a bit of roots as many were dead. I tried to no over compact the moss but still did because otherwise the orchid was leaning to much. I used the slit pots and I felt a lot of water was running out from the sides so I might have pored too much water in to get everything wet. We will see how it goes. Have another one that needs repotting but will wait to see how this one develops.
It looks like a Phal. Bronze Buddha, I have one. Yes, very popular now and scented, has a nicer smell than Sweet Memory Liodoro (to my taste) 😊 A prolific bloomer, makes spike trees 😊
@@jhndr0niaYou could be right, there are so many phals out there, looking the same. However, mine has almost completely magenta, exactly like this one in the video, and it was tagged. Also google search gives you the same lip for phal Bronze Buddha.
@@JaninaHk I did a quick google search, that why I came to this conclusion. Especially the lateral lobes of the lip are rather red than magenta/pink as in the plant in the video. The shape also slightly differs. But maybe there are different clones in cultivation, so you might be right
New subbie! I’ve been a plant lady since I was 21. Now at 54, I am very choosy in adding to my plant family. I have mostly large indoor trees and large potted varieties. But I adore orchids and have a few Q’s: I notice in some of your videos your longer bloom stems aren’t staked and go in many directions. I do usually stake bloom stalks, mainly because mine are in traffic paths (4 kiddos) and I need them safely out of the way of 3 boys😂. I have 8 orchids that stay around the higher light areas in our home and are part of the decor, some grouped in cache pots etc. Mine are all this variety shown here. Is it a preference, or do the plants prefer a more natural bloom stem position? (I did just make a “tea” of onion skins- strained and I did water last time with a tsp of rice flour in the watering water. )My orchids are healthy and green, but don’t bloom as often as I’d like. I have 2 of the 8 blooming now. I did repot several and cleaned up roots and cleaned leaves. So, staking and rice and onion water- these are my questions, thanks❤.
Oh- and I do use stakes to gently straighten the leaning stems so the plant stays off surfaces and doesn’t topple. Does this stress an orchid to “train” the stem? I’m just wanting at least a blooming per year. They’ve been sleepy.
Hi Danny I have a orchid that the leaves droop a little bit I make sure that it has water in fact I have grown a new leaf before and now I see another new leaf growing do I have any need for concerns because I see a lot of orchids that the leaves are extremely perky thanks for what you do Pat
What a recovery! It looks exactly like a scented phal I picked up recently from an orchid festival. It was just called orange fragrant. Even down to the same pot, that says scenza on it. It looks a lot like another one I have called bolgheri. Both are meant to be fragrant and look almost identical. Disappointingly neither have had any true fragrance really. Disappointing because I was hoping it would be like liodoro.
Hi Danny! It looks like Phal. Brother Sara Gold. Do you still have it? You've made a video about it in 2016. I've rescued some orchids, but unfortunately here where I live they overwater them and leave the pots full of water, and have root (and sometimes stem) rot 🥺. The recovery is long, but rewarding.
QUESTION: my orchid has been doing great for about 3 years now. This past fall when the flowers finally died (as they do every year), i started getting the leaves growing very high on the stem. Is this normal? Not sure what to do. HELP!!
Hi Danny, I have a question but need to give some context. I have 10 orchids. A couple of months ago I finally took 2 orchids out of a glass vase (they were given to me as a gift). I left them in it for way too long. I got the lights, moss and fertilizer (feed me) all from Repot Me and followed ALL your directions verbatim. As a result they are giving me an INSANE amount of roots. The one that I thought would die has 15 roots (not aerial) but leaves are so very limp. There is a new leaf coming out and it's nice and sturdy, the rest are really sad. The same goes for the other orchid. A ton of roots (not aerial) and very limp leaves except for the new growth. I am VERY careful about watering. I can't find the answer to this question anywhere. Should I be worried? What can I do? Hopefully it will help somebody else in my situation. Thank you so much! PS Yes, when I repotted I cut off all the dead roots and cleaned the girls up well :)
If the new leaves are growing plump, you should be fine, especially if you have new roots. I suspect some leaves never recover from some levels of damage.
Hi Sister! I can see a tattoo on your right forearm, I can't see very well but it looks like something special...can you please tell me and maybe shoot me a picture of it!!❤
Are you saying this is going to be a video a day kind of project? Because that would be cool and what I need. 😁 I know it's a lot of work for you, but we definitely appreciate it. Thanks to you, my orchids are no longer dying! They're not great, and I still have a lot to learn. That's why I'm hoping this becomes a step-by-step kind of deal so I can get more in-depth info into keeping healthy orchids. Thanks in advance! 😊

I think l actually have that orchid! It was an IKEA find here in the USA and is so very nicely fragrant! Looks kind of like liodoro too!❤

This orchid is definitely fragrant!! I have two myself and they smell super floral and wonderful

I just purchased the same orchid a few weeks ago. Apparently popular! It reminds me of the sunset. 🌺

I found this exact or hid at my shop too! I got it because I saw the resemblance too 😅 ❤so lovely.
It looks like the sogo gotris flora ark if it is it is fragrant. Not the most pleasing smell though.😀

Hi Danny, beautiful rescue, hope she has a scent. 😊🌸🌞🌷❤️
A Sweet Memory look alike. I do hope it gets a scent 😊

*screams horrified as soon as she holds the dehydrated leaf*
It must recover with your care!
hello Danny, is Kokedama moss ball good for other kinds of orchids other than phalaenopsis? Could you do a video on that? TIA
Where did you get the tray❤
Hi Danny I have a orchid that the leaves droop a little bit I make sure that it has water in fact I have grown a new leaf before and now I see another new leaf growing do I have any need for concerns because I see a lot of orchids that the leaves are extremely perky thanks for what you do Pat

How do you manage so many orchids with different watering times ?
Can you reuse the water to soak another orchid eg if the water has orchid fertilizer in it ???
Do you soak multiple times or with each watering?

I have a ice orchard. Just 5 ice cubes once a week.

Looks like my Phal. L-Hsin venus! She smells like candy❤
New keeper since last fall 23'
I've got the very same one from local grocery
You know the name ,?
Can you use a milk water mix to use on your orchid
If you want mold, yes😅
Is that Phal Liodoro Sweet Memory ?
No, that one looks slightly different
lol! You are already too cute!!
What is the deal with the cat ears?
Hi, the deal is they agree to get youtube exposure in exchange for making me look cuter 🤭
Hi Sister! I can see a tattoo on your right forearm, I can't see very well but it looks like something special...can you please tell me and maybe shoot me a picture of it!!❤
