@@osobatalentu6944CP is short for multiple things. Most notably and the reason the shortening doesn't sound good is that it can be used to refrence pornography of children. Which is understandably not something you would want to be associated and also illegal. So, yeah. It's probably understandable why it could sound bad to hear anything be referred to as "CP".
Thank you from the bottom of my old CP loving heart for this documentary. I started to listen to Control Point back in May 2009 during The Spy and Sniper Update. The podcast actually changed my life and was a huge influence on why I studied Media Production. I still to this day have the CP tag on my Steam account and wouldn't dare remove it. Thank you indie you're an absolute legend!
It makes me deliriously happy that so many people have so many fond memories of our silly shows. We had an amazing time, and it's a point of pride that we built such a healthy and supportive community.
Man, it's friggin' awesome to know our ridiculous antics actually made a difference in people's lives. Feeling all kinds of nostalgic and thankful right now! Thank you @indii for the killer doc!
You talking about how much Control Point helped you cross that weird transitory period between childhood and adulthood really made you feel like a kindred spirit, and I never would've expected that would happen for someone else 15+ years after it did for me. This was my favorite podcast and favorite community as I was starting college in the late 00s, and it was so nostalgic to look back on all of this.
There's something really powerful in the testimonials. I think we should all strive not for larger numbers, but to spread positive messages and impact each other in a similar manner.
NO! You kept the part where I massively brainfarted and forgot to mention Wes! But this is a fantastic video-essay, I'm glad to have been a part of it, and to have reconnected with some Control Point folks after such a long time.
Dead Workers Party will always have a special place in my heart. They introduced me to a lot of great games, and a lot of iconic community moments, and I am thankful for everything they've done during that era of UA-cam. Although the prime years of DWP, Minecraft, and TF2 are long past gone, the memories I had growing up with all of it are things that I would always cherish forever.
I was a ‘The Shaft’ man myself - there was a real dark time after Eric and Wes left. Brent kept it running with new hosts, and I may have sent in 10 voice mails and ruined a whole episode. Brent was really cool, he agreed to record with me afterwards. Great guy.
This was lovely, a love letter to a forgotten thing i never heard of, and wasn't even online when it started. There are so many forgotten things that made people who they are, so many projects that shaped communities, so many little bits of stuff we're not grateful enough for. Anyway, based, gonna go back to brainrot content now
I was not around on the internet at the time Control Point existed. I was not in the TF2 Community for years after that, having only really “joined” it (I can’t play the game for the life of me so a lot of people could say that I haven’t truly *joined* the community) around March of this year. But wow, the love and care that went into this video and the original podcast, the people whose lives have been changed by CP’s existence? It’s really heartwarming to see, and it makes me reflect on my own time on the internet and how the communities I’ve been in have changed my life (either for the better or for the worse). Thank you for making this, and thank you for showing me a subset of this community I’ve never seen before!
I always wondered what happened to CP! I knew about them from the blog and one day looked them up in 2013. I just missed the boat (or shark!) and there was a message on the podcast page saying it was over and that I should check out KrtizKast instead. Thank you CP, for introducing me to KK, and thank you for making this video help fill in such a bug mystery in my Tf2 journey that I've been pondering for years!
I would actually like to watch the ten-thousandth Bad Weapon Academy. They're pretty good videos that highlight each weapon's main flaw and offer a nice way to make them good
this sent shivers down my spind, even though i wasnt apart of this experience i still have loved tf2 for 90% of my life being my most played game and this has gotten me emotional
i watched this all the way through without starting up a game or picking up sometthing. this was so cool to learn about and im glad you brought this upon me. Definitely going to get some merch.
Wow, thank you for this amazing video, it brought me back to my times with Control Point. Much like Nivek I was just a kid playing on that server and it built friendships that I still have to this day. There were people from the Control Point group that gave me wedding gifts (would have been invited if the event wasn't so small). Seeing names and hearing voices from people that were my friends and some that still are was such an experience. I am so happy that the discord is up and we can all join together and catch up on what was my formative years. Thank you Indii for giving me a walk through memories that I have cherished for years, thank you for bringing us together once again.
I remember being around for episode 100, and listened to Nation of Gamers. But I didn't know they actually revived Control Point after 100! Also very cool to hear about the new episode collab
Honest to god, I'm so glad this showed up in my recommended. I have vague memories of CP from back in the day, and seeing just how much it meant to others who were more involved had me sobbing. TF2 changed my life, and I'd never give up the memories I have of it and the community around it. I love the game, the people, the content; all of it. This video genuinely has me thinking differently now. I want to get back to editing, to push towards a creative glass ceiling that everyone involved broke through. If ADHD can't keep you down, then I know it won't keep me down. Thank you Indii for making this documentary, and thank you DWP for allowing such an incredible community to grow.

Somehow you have opened my eyes to even more about the Dead Workers Party guys than I even have known in their 23rd episode with The Yogscast! First, took me 4 and a half minutes to realize that mic you're handling is a sibling to my Blue Snowball! Wes once inspired me to upgrade my mic during his End of an Era episode, after telling me, 'You do sound a little bit like you're in a tin can, though.' Then, 9:24 makes me honoured to be running a Steam Group that legitimately runs trading card set giveaways. Next, 14:27 was my favourite running joke which I only found out about listening to A Tf2 Christmas, 'yelling F-nut'. By the way, I noticed your clever dubbing at 24:17, something I've definitely done on my own recordings! Lastly, your conversation with Brent about ADD reminds me of my own situation. While I was diagnosed young for Tourette's and OCD, both mildly, I just found out from my mom that I was too distracted, flirting with my therapist, to be diagnosed for ADD, but we both agree that I'm likely mild about it too, since I've also taken a few-and got bored of most-self-tests. Leastly, well, that's-that's me beside Nivekeryas and Brent's avatars at 51:26! So, while I understandably didn't get to listen to my own interview with you during your doc-I caught The Shaft before Control Point-I'm honoured to at least have a cameo! all my online friends I have today are thanks to Team Fortress 2 from one of my friends I still vividly remember the map I met them on which the map's name is Crasher. I won't bore y'all with recounting that day but for the veterans of this game who look on who don't play it anymore people are still making friends through it some of my greatest memories of hanging out with my online friends have been only achievable because I met these people first through Team Fortress 2. so this game is still doing what control Point podcast did for y'all back in the day there was even a livestream not too long ago where Team Fortress 2 creators got together for charity and sang fan songs so the vibe control Point podcast had is still there it's just hella spread out now and shows up every now and then it is no longer as prevalent but absolutely still exists. So I have one last thing to say and it is you're doing good lad you're doing good.
