Best song he ever recorded in my opinion, is Strange World, my god that song can make me travel to a new universe. That song makes me dream, it is SO good, magical!

Paul Dianno sounded great great on the early iron maiden stuff. It just worked really well with the music. Great stuff.

A metal band with a punk vocalist with quite complex songs... That's funny how Di Anno puts it. But he's right and i'm happy that he speaks out the obvious : Steve Harris's love for the progressive rock genre.

Paul Di'anno: a sincere drug addict and genuine fuck up. Despite his personal flaws, the first two Maiden albums are EPIC, largely due to Paul's great vocals.

Iron Maiden is a Legend today becuz of Bruce Dickinson even though Di'anno was the first vocalist. Period! Di'anno got fired cuz he couldn't sing. I mean listen to any of Maiden's song with Di'anno as the vocalist. Do u call it singing. He sounded like a maniac trying to sing with shit coming out of his arse. He was good at showing off his bare chest n running around like a retarded madman on stage. Iron Maiden needed a 'Real Star' n that happened in the form of 'Bruce Dickinson.' Bruce is the reason for Maiden's stardom. He changed everything. Even Paul Di'anno's persona doesn't come anywhere close to Bruce's let alone his voice n the singing style to say the least.

No he didn't Iron Maiden was already know with Paul even Metallica knew who they were.. Btw Bruce cannot cover early Iron Maiden the same his voice style ain't the same.. Every song on the first two albums were good and i cant say the same after notb.. Piece of mind had some good songs so did powerslave but the whole albums weren't full of good songs

What was it like meeting Dickinson ? Was he cool or a dick?
He's very business minded.. To be fair it was a recording studio opening private party, and he'd literally flown in. Stopped for an hour then had to get gone again. Probably wasn't best way to meet him.
I met Di'anno after The Iron Maidens gig at the 02 Islington London. He sang Wrathchild and ofc Iron maiden to close the show. He had plenty of banter with the audience and made us and the Maidens laugh. A very down to earth guy and very approachable. Shook his hand, had a chat and took a selfie with him.
paul is good but bruce will always be better when it comes to iron maiden. bruce is the heart and soul of the band, when you think of their songs you think of him. firing paul was probably the best decision they ever made

Wrathchild! The whole Killets album.Fuck Pauls voice was beyond good the best i have ever heard! That includes Robert Plant, Dave Gilmour, James Hetfield, Phil Lynott. I like Bruce Dickinson but how someone can say his voice is better?
I agree. only one I like better than dianno is Halford. dianno didn't have a very wide range but his voice was soaked in the attitude of the streets. same with pearcy of ratt...neither were great singers but both were great vocalists/front men in their early careers. sadly drugs always seems to play in... cheers
Bruce dickinson voice is better, better when it somes to Vocal range and power. At the end of the day really it all comes down to personal prefernece. If you like maiden with an edge listen to the first 2, if you like maiden with pure Heavy metal listen to Bruce.
Paul Di'Anno is the very best singer and most charismatic frontman in hard rock ever. Bruce is good too, but Paul was in the same league as Elvis Presley in his Maiden days.
Paul Di'Anno's new band Architects Of Chaoz are friggin awesome! Best album he's done since Maiden's 'Killers'. Album's out now and worth every cent! Bruce Dickinson is however the greatest vocalist and frontman ever. Period.
You are almost right about Bruce, about shit load of singers that hit notes like he does. Bruce just has an amazing voice tone. On that my friend you are totally wrong about Bruce, because he does not belong on that shit load of a singers list. He is simply unique, plus he owns the stage on every concert they play, and the crowd!!
Bruce's vocal capabilities were tested to the limit on the song number of the beast the mid section yeahhhh is very difficult

Di'anno was great on the only Album I heard him on. I use to play that album while playing my video games. Actually use to crank it up quite loud. And Mom Let me. And yes the video games at the time sucked arse. Let's be honest here.
When Bruce took over, it was a whole new band!!! A Awesome Band!!! Not only on vocals but showmanship. Bruce always Thanks the crowd. He has told us, " if not for you we would not be here!" Iron Maiden is one Kick Ass Band.
Di'anno got me hooked on the sound. Bruce Owned it and Still does!!!! Thank You Iron Maiden for the many great tunes.

he is who he is.. and without him, there would be no Iron Maiden, and they went on to influence so many bands. In the end of the day - hard rock and heavy metal owe a lot to this man. I tip my hat to him. No one is perfect, but very few people have done what he has done.

I get angry every time I think about it because I wanted him to continue being a member of the band. Paul Dianno and Bruce Dickson could sing the albums together right?

Paul Said while he is talking to about Dave, that they went to visit Jimmy Hendrix's grave, because Dave really liked Jimmy Hendrix, and Paul needed to urinate (piss) and he just wanted to go for a piss but he laughs when he is saying this in the interview because he says "of well I better not do that up here" meaning he better not piss anywhere near Hendrix's grave lol never mind a graveyard.

paul was good in maiden for what they where playing at the time but they where not a punk band but metal as steve said in a interview at the time so they was only one out come getting a metal singer which bruce certainly is, so who is the better singer bruce for range, power and control 3 things paul hasnt got.

does anyone know when this is from? If you check interviews with Paul he is sometimes negative about Iron Maiden and sometimes positive, hard to gauge his real opinion. I like it when he is like this as I hate when he is negative as it does seem like it's sour grapes and just someone with a bad attitude. He has said plenty of bad stuff about them since, so this whole series of 8 clips surprised me. I like the first two albums best also and his two Battlezone albums which are pure metal!

No it isn't ' typical' maybe if you were living in East London in the 60s and 70s this was typical but for the rest of the U.K this is anything but ,especially in places like North Wales , the Highlands, Manchester, or Cornwall. Maybe your geography and knowledge of history is limited in terms of regional accents in the U.K, i don't know, there are 4 countries within U.K terroritory all with different accents - they even speak different languages i.e Scottish Gaelic, Welsh , Irish Gaelic ( North).
