Don’t forget keyboard apps also have “Send diagnostics data” option. That should also be turned off. Even pre installed ones has that option. Best regards from Sweden.

I have two cells, 1 for general usage - 1 for emergencies & both are androids. Quite a few of my family & friends, are android owners. Every time you have an Android video I forward it to them because without y'all there's so little technical information about issues y'all bring to light for us!

I always bar any app from controlling WiFi. There is no good reason that I can think of, for allowing, for example, Google Play Store to control WiFi.

I‘ve been subscribed for some time because of your iPhone tips. Alas, I have now decided to use my Samsung Z Fold 3 as my primary phone after continuing to use both this phone and the iPhone 12 Max for several months. Carrying 2 phones all the time is ridiculous; although I much prefer iOS over Android, I really like the folding phone, and ultimately, both phones get the job done (with some restrictions on Android). Once Apple comes out with a folding phone, I will be back to iOS with a huge sigh of relief,. But for the moment, I‘m happy to see your videos with Android tips because I know almost nothing about this operating system.

Need advice on choosing apps w/r/t their permissions -possible future video. When I go to Google Play to search for an app I always look at their permissions list. I usually find that the app has access to many items ( contacts, storage, network, camera, mic, etc) that are completely unrelated to the app and have no function for the app. This seems very risky and I often wonder what is the safe thing to do and what other people do.
Watch out for apps that request access to at least one of these nine permission groups:
Body sensors
Calendar
Camera
Contacts
GPS location
Microphone
Calling
Texting
Storage
You’ll want to be wary of permissions related to accessing:
Phone
Audio
Location
Contacts
Camera
Calendar
Messaging
Biometrics
Cloud Storage
If go into App in Settings
chose a app for ex: Kroger app (Kroger grocery store app)
You can click on Camera, Contacts, Microphone, Phone, Storage and you can select: Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, and Don't allow
for Camera Permission you can select: Choose: Allow only while using the app (you be using the camera to scan QR code or barcode), Ask every time, and Don't allow
for Location Permission you can select: Allow all the time, Choose: Allow only while using the app (to kind a Kroger in you location), Ask every time, and Don't allow
for Phone Permission you can select: Allow and chose: Don't Allow
for Storage Permission you can select: Allow access to media only and Chose: Don't Allow

I also loo at the last time the app was updated. There are so many really decent looking apps that I'd like to try, but they haven't been updated for a year or more. So I don't bother with them.

Re: "install unknown apps", I have to admit that I always give *two* apps - Root Explorer, and Magisk - this permission. One, because Magisk *has* to have it in order to install modules, and two, because I use Root Explorer install one or two apk's.

I have Samsung Galaxy S20FE software upgrade to Android 12.
Just letting you know, under Settings > Privacy scroll down to the Google the click on Ads
in the Ads section I do not see Reset advertising ID
I do not see the toggle switch to click on to Turn On Opt out of Ads Personalization.

What about nearby share can we unselect all that is selected and willing of this changes make the phone run slower or different?
When go to all apps list and show all system apps, there are still a lot of app that gray out all the permissions, still get the location all the time.

If The App Does Not Need It (The Specific Permission) To Work; I Deny Permission Even If It Says The App May Not Function Correctly.
Google Apps Have A Lot Of Permissions That They Do Not Need (Like Call Log, Contacts, Microphone, Camera, And Location)
My Camera permissions options doesn't include an 'Allowed only while in use' section at all. Just 'Allowed' and 'Denied'. Even when clicking on the App in list its just the two mentioned previous.
Probably your phone may be hacked.

Click on find button and type permission manager. Every Android settings locations are not in the same place.
