The Spectrum is worth paying to dig. The red and green pockets inside the gems are larger and of higher quality. But your day is a great example of the potential on the public land. 🏆✌️

Are you in the desert side of Oregon? I've been to the coast. That area looks gorgeous. What are you gonna do with all those pebbles?

This is the south east corner, so yes... the Oregon outback. I send them away to my cutters in Jaipur and we process them into faceted stones for the jewelry industry

Amazing yield for a single day of collecting! How do you navigate in a featureless sea of sage grass? How many hours from Vancouver? Thanks for the great video!

haha, you pick a mountain range in the distance behind your car and try and walk in a straight line away from your car. that way, when you turn around to go back, you point yourself at the mountain range and just walk towards it. eventually you get up top on one of the dunes and spot your car :)
its about a 10 hour drive from Vancouver, to Plush, Oregon.

This is a cool video, but you really need to film in landscape. It's very difficult to see when the video is in portrait.

no ocean there for 20 plus million years....rounded eroded one could be from water but most wind blasted.did you actually get any color or just rust stained?

@@RubbleRockAndGem yes it was there but that was pre cascades...which have been around for 22 million years...there is almost no place on the planet you can say "there used to be ocean there" and not be right if you dont include a timeline

Reds are said to be under 1% of production at the nearby mines.
