“Athletic” goals vs “aesthetic” goals. I love that. This was a great message for me. I’m on a fitness/ weight loss journey of my own right now. Getting my body back to a place where I feel healthy after having my daughter over a year ago and having gained over 50 lbs. I love the results I’m seeing in the mirror but the truth is focusing on how you FEEL vs how you look is so much more important and rewarding.

You know what changed after 12 years? She accepted herself. She didn't reach some magical goal. No one ever does. If you are insecure and unhappy, the problem isn't your body, it's the insecurity and you will never reach where you want to be as long as you don't tackle that. Be proud of yourself now. Why wait 12 years? Be miserable for 12 whole years? You can still progress, work out, AND be happy with yourself. Don't fool yourself, it's never tomorrow. Once today has passed, what seems tomorrow has become today, and you're waiting for it to be tomorrow before you can be happy.

Young ladies, please remember that your body will change when you hit about 19-20. You may be looking up to grown women wishing to be similar to them, but that’s not a realistic expectation. Your body keeps you alive, so however it is, it’s beautiful. You are beautiful.

There are always people who want to « prove you wrong » because they feel as if an exception is an argument against what you’re saying... What Sydlive said is addressed to the majority, and the majority of women do experience changes in their bodies around 20, depending on the way their puberty occurred, some women only experience a real change later in life, around 30. That is just hormones, and as we all know, everyone has different hormones and everyone has its own life experience (duh).
Sydlive message is bestowed, and I think her point is crucial: don’t expect to look a certain way and rather focus on your health, mental and physical.

Sometimes your body isn’t made to have a supermodel figure, and it can mess you up if you obsess over numbers on the scale. @Sean thank you! :) and don’t worry haha no one was a big enough a hole to say i needed to be underweight to be pretty, society and everyone in my life just showed it, for example; when i was 120lbs and posted things on my story it’d be my friends that would say nice things and when i got to the 95-100 area, people i’d went to school with and hasn’t seen or heard from in years would be commenting things and a lot of people who either had no interest before or were straight up a holes to me in school would be suddenly flirting and stuff; so that just kinda told me i was only desirable when i was tiny which i now know is bs and that i should only give a crap about someone and what they think if they like me the most when i’m healthy, but i think society’s unspoken messages of how we are differently depending on how our weight changes is the reason a lot of girls think they need to be unhealthily tiny to be good enough
(ik guys also have eating disorders i just can’t speak from a guys perspective on the unspoken messages they get shown how society makes them feel in such regards so that’s why i just said girls lol)

Please work on your insecurity first and your body second. It's super good you are mindful of your diet and exercise, but it will not solve your insecurity. You are good the way you are. You can be proud of the way you are. That doesn't mean you can't improve things, you always can, but that's the whole problem. If you wait to be happy because you haven't gotten to perfection yet, you'll always be miserable. Goalposts move along the way. Once you reach your original goal, that's not enough anymore. The insecurity still is there, so you need a new goal. And the cycle continues. Be proud of yourself, you deserve it.
