Inside the Minds of Gaming's Dirtiest Cheaters

- Cheaters are gaming's most annoying problem.
But what possesses someone to risk it all for an easy win?
Why would anyone assume they can pull one over on everyone else and get away with it?
What actually goes on inside the mind of a cheater?

I got hacked upon so badly I got hacks myself. Got tired of them ruining my kdr so I just did it myself for almost 2 years straight just rage hacking. Definitely not a virgin or bad at the game. Hacking is fun af tbh. Rage hacking with everything on is fun. But just walling and using a soft aimbot is lame af. Go hard and get perma banned or go home.

For me cheating is a sign of a bad character, it shows lack of empathy and that you value yourself so much higher than others that you don't mind having fun at the expense of other people's misery
for me, cheaters are sub-human scum who need sterilizing.
The ones that but cheats or use cheats that other people created, sure.
I however understand why some people who create the cheats themselves do it. Its a challenge for them to break the game.

The magnitude, clarity, and documentation of the incident made it a good example of what not to do, so of course it will be continually discussed beyond what is reasonable.
However, he really didn't help himself in that his first reaction was to try to hide/delete the cheats, rather than admit his actions. He was also representing a upcoming csgo community, and his actions didn't only backfire on him but hurt every player in the scene for years to come.
Cheaters are crazy. There were people in Overwatch who said that cheating was an addiction to them, like they couldn't stop if they wanted to.

I've never cheated in a multiplayer game but I cheat in almost every singleplayer game that I play. Things like Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3, so on and so forth. I basically just tailor the game to however I want to experience it for minimal stress. For some people the joy to be found in games is in overcoming challenges and hurdles on their own merit, but for me, even if I overcome a challenge naturally I don't get any more enjoyment from it than if I had cheated. Often times the fact that I was challenged at all takes away from the experience. A recent example is Armored Core 6, which I beat all the way through new game++ without cheating, any time I would have to retry a boss fight more than twice I would just be annoyed and frustrated, and when I eventually won I just felt relief that it was over and upset that it wasted my time.
For multiplayer games, I guess my philosophy is pretty much the same, I choose to avoid playing any game that I'm not immediately good at. I don't cheat in them because in a multiplayer game I would be actively ruining other people's experiences. So I don't have a bad time myself or make a it a bad time for other players, I just avoid the games I'm bad at. There's probably some kind of study that could be done on my brain regarding immediate gratification vs delayed gratification or motivated cognition, but I don't know, at the moment I'm just content to enjoy games how I enjoy them.
Nothing wrong with having fun however you chose, as long as it doesn't come at the expense of others!
I don't think that kind of cheating is remotely targeted in this video. Everyone cheats in Singleplayer games 😅
I mean Minecraft literally has creative so some official agrees with y
Honestly I feel like with your inability to separate your own accomplishments from one of cheats and your inability to enjoy overcoming obstacles and challenges leads me to believe you almost definitely cheat in multiplayer games but obviously you wouldn’t admit that so you’re claiming your moral code cares about other random players experiences more then your own
i never cheated in an multiplayer game too. for single player games. i only kinda cheat when im lost and dont know where to go or what to do or when im been stuck in a place for hours thats when i look it up in the internet then after i get passed it i continue playing normally. I say "kinda" because im not sure if thats cheating.
People cheat purely for their own satisfaction. Weather it be for an ego trip, or to ruin other people's fun. But either way, its fun at the expense of other people.

Before watching the video the answer to what goes on in their head: not much. Really not much at all. And while I would not say cheaters are born, I would say that cheaters are just cheaters. They would literally back-stab someone they call a friend so I'd say once you figure out someone who is regularly cheating, no matter what reason, even if they claim to be killing other cheaters or because everyone cheats, they should not be trusted with anything important.
Cheaters are just assholes looking for a dopamine hit because they aren't good enough to play and get it normally.
That is some hasty generalization. Most cheaters are there just to have fun and it does not automatically transfer into real life. Also rarely do cheaters cheat so they can win, except when there is money involved.
@@Zondels Most cheaters have shitty personalities and are horrible to be around. I also find cheaters to be untrustworthy and they lie a lot. On top of that I personally have known people who make cheats and you would be surprised how lucrative that shit is. You think that someone is unironically spending money on cheats and new accounts everytime they get banned for fun? Kinda sounds like the same excuse drug addicts use to be pieces of shit and abuse their brains.

Don't cheat and just get good at the game. If you do that then all cheating accusations will give you a mood boost.
the problem is people don't want to put in the time; and even if they did they don't have the cognitive skills to learn from mistakes and improve.
another aspect is that they don't actually enjoy the videogame they are cheating in. they enjoy the social aspect and interaction with their time and the enemy team. if you are cheating and you're wiping the entire team; you'll just be congratulated by your own team for carrying.
cheating is way more fun than getting good at the game

Imagine being a cheater so stupid, that you drag your teammates and entire country down.
This was a great video.. very well put together.
You missed a type of cheater who is the most dangerous and effective at cheating. Players who are actually good at the game. Take speedrunners for example, someone who is capable of getting a world record is someone who knows how to pass off a illegitimate run as a real one. A pro player will know how to play so they know how to hide that they're cheating. They get caught because they slipped up and someone looked into their gameplay but they are able to pass of their gameplay as legit, and people will defend them because they can't believe that someone with the skill to do well would cheat.
The moe squeal "he's cheating" gets me every time
Ah yes, another Forsaken video. The true G.O.A.T. of CS:GO
When in the 90s you versed a rival arcade to a game of super turbo and the best players of said arcade tell you to use certain cabs where the buttons are broken so they auto win and hurl slangs at you to never come back calling you a fraud on the way out. You legit couldn't say anything without sounding like your whinging. You just had to hold that. Thats how it was in Sydney, Australia. It was cutthroat to all hell. 😂
Great video. I've had this question on my mind for a while, and so far, this is the first video I've seen that has research studies that explain it further

I cheat in games sometimes but never online multyplayer games
Cheaters on multi-players are unhappy, miserable. egotistical people. They cheat to get above players they cannot best on their own merit. Meanwhile for single player, it's the most fun you can have maximizing the potential of the game.
Its actually the opposite. Its rarely funny to cheat in a singleplayer game as it gets boring pretty quickly. Cheating in a multiplayer game never gets boring.

I wish cheating in online games was illegal. It's infuriating and in so many games it seems that the developers don't have any power.
Yeah. Doesn't have to be a major crime, but a couple hours of community service or a night or two in the county jail would definitely disincentivize that shit

After a 12 lose losing streak ok CS, i hopped on my smurf and started a normal queue just to get matched against cheaters even more. This is when i snapped and started to try cheats, it felt kinda dirty but it felt justified if i knew the enemy was cheating, ofcourse shortly after i got banned and just took it for the way it is, both dissapointed in the anticheat that banned me and not the spinbotters on the other team but also a little in the lower ranked playerbase, because just like me there are probably alot of players who just feel the matchmaking isnt right and the system doesnt work, i do regret my actions but it did give me a unique insight in what the cheating enemies are capable of.
I did some HVH in the past but now I just play faceit for peace of mind. Cheaters are rare there. Worth a try
Finding excuses to cheat. Typical
Cheating is just stupid. Period.
Yet they get around security and never truly disappear while those like you keep hurling the same 5 insults whose actually dumb here? . You.
I'm a die-hard CS player since i was a kid up to now I'm in my 30s. But due to the rampant cheating I gravitated towards Valorant. CS cheaters are almost in every game here in Asia servers.
My cousin used to love designing cheats for games. In Soldier of Fortunes and SWAT4's online he would obviously ace people way before any anti cheat was made. Especially for games that didn't even consider themselves multiplayer. But then other cheaters came. And they would literally create lobbies to show off whos cheat software was the best. Watching his computer play a game full of other people who programmed their own characters was super fun.
Cheating is a mix of trolling and validation. After that it's all a lie. But the community that used to make cheats was actually really interesting. There were vent calls then skype calls, bragging about finding a new exploit. I think that was the most interesting. It really was joining a community, and then prevailing. As soon as it became monetized by people it completely changed the dynamic and the crowd.
It’s like the olympics or other sports events, you have got so far up the ladder only to be up against cheaters that you have to level the playing field I guess.

I never will understand why people will cheat in a video game, It's beyond me... Getting the Unfair advantage just to find Hilarity, Grief or "Rage" From another person shows their gratification. IN my opinion those who cheat in video games should be Banned permanently. Includes ISP Bans.
- Competitions should have their own provided console - Stock & you cannot use any custom: Personal or used Controllers that you brought with... This includes Memory cards or any online profile that you bring over...
(You will 100% receive an ISP ban from communicating to & From gaming servers...) In my opinion if you are caught & Evidence shown you are cheating. (At home competitions included)
cheating is fun u should try it
the only reason its OK with them is because there are rely no consequences. adding a fine or actually not allowing them the make a new account and start over would be a big step in lessening the problem. which will not happen, sense game publishers make money off every banned account when they have to repurchase the game.
When I was a gold nova in CSGO back in 2014 I decided to play with cheats for a bit just for fun.
And cheating did actually teach me A LOT about the game. Common angles, preaims, prefires and everything. I tried to hide it as much as possible, so I decided to learn smokes and nades to mask my cheats. After my acc got banned, I stayed clean and managed to get to global elite and level 10 on faceit in about a year.
I learned the entire game because of wall hacks and aimbot....
Who is cutting my man's hair 😂😂😂
Here’s the thing: most people don’t cheat. The risk of getting a virus or getting your card hacked aren’t worth it. If you’re cheating to be a “follower,” you have a distorted sense of gaming
i classify as a vigilante cheater. I cheated in CSGO 1200+ days ago bc it was bloated with hackers and the only way to have a fair chance was to cheat myself. I paid for it and now that CS2 is out, im heavily regretting it.
i still play on an alt and have prime and CS2 beta but i can never be serious about the game anymore.
Ive found that humans individually have this weird compelling pressure to win, rather it be an argument or sports, and will do anything to win and usually wont try to sympathize with other people.

Even if i play bad i wont cheat, and it just doesnt seem so fun. Its way better to see yourself becoming better and it gives drive and motivation.

I cheated once in my life on a minecraft minigame server. Got banned, cried, and vowed to never cheat again.
My take on in-game exploits/bug exploiting, as long as the company was notified about it for a while I'd say it's fair play. If it's not intended they would have removed it, if it is intended it stays. Pros especially are the best at the game, let them deal with everything normal players have to, it's also knowledge check.
If you find a bug report it always, don't abuse until you know it's intended.
last week on CSGO I did a 90 degree no scope on the last enemy with a AWP and everyone thought I was hacking. In reality I forgot to scroll to my pistol.
I remember, back in the original cod mw2/3 days, there were so many cheaters even in community servers. I was so fed up once, I just wanted to give them the taste of their own medicine. So I cheated once, when i saw a bunch of cheaters in the opponents, autoaiming and shit. i got a more advanced cheat and started owning them. within a minute i was so disgusted by myself, i uninstalled the game... formatted my PC and stayed away from my computer for 2-3 weeks. never have I ever cheated since. i couldn't live with cheating even against cheaters.

I used to closet cheat on CSGO. None of my friends knew. I did it for fun, I used the movement features and the skinchanger because they were a blast to use, but now I've quit and I play Faceit where cheaters are very rare and I know my achievements are real achievements that I earned legitimately. I never understood the point of aimbot or wallhacks. They weren't fun or competitive to me.
I also used to use this feature where it made every enemy in my game turn bright red, because I'm blind af and was on a laptop so it was always super hard to see people.
Did my cheats give me advantages? Yeah absolutely. Not to the point it wasn't competitive anymore, but I realized that these "movement cheats" could be replaced with a couple hundred hours of learning how to do that legitimately, the skinchanger? I miss the color in my game but maybe I should just focus more IRL so I can afford that phase 4 gamma doppler bayonet. As for the feature that made enemies bright red, well, I got a bigger monitor and now I don't have a HUGE problem with visibility anymore though it's still there.
TLDR; closet cheated for fun / supplementing my blindness, but it's more rewarding to play legit.
I've always thought that those who cheat is because they cheated
what I mean is that once you cheat once, you'll keep cheating, you'll cheat when you feel frustrated again, and you'll do it more and more frequently until it doesn't have effect on you, like adiction.
what leads me to think that? other games which allow you to cheat, for example The Sims, I remember that at some point you cheat once to get something fast, and then it's an spiral in which the effort isn't worth it and you end up trying to make a beautiful house with all your money because you ruined your game and it's not funny anymore, people start adding mods to manipulate the game further, etc.
Also the observation of discord friends who cheat as a group. I think that probably one brought the cheat and tried to convince the rest that it'd be funny and suddenly the whole group cheats.
How do I know, because in casual for example you tend to see the same people at around the same time of the day, you recognize who's friend with who, at some point some even admit to it, you see some use cheats blatantly and troll the rest when mad because they know they won't be banned on casual, and then they come the next week as if nothing happened.
In fact I've even seen more uncommon situations, like how a girl that belonged to one of these groups stopped cheating, probably because she started enjoying more the game even if she was not so good at it. she still cheats once in a while, I guess it's difficult to leave it, but it's certainly different to her friend, dude's known for cheating in the community and tries to hide it when he's confessed multiple times, he doesn't even need to say anything because it's the more obvious cheat I've seen I hope it's free because I've never seen a cheat so bad. crosshair movements are choppy and locks into everything, super funny stuff (when he's not using the cheat it doesn't move like that), this dude has never been able to stop cheating unlike his friend.
So in summary, if you cheat once, you'll more than likely cheat twice
Back in the ye olde days of Call of Duty 2 when punk buster wasn't very good, I moderated a server and basically just spectated people until someone acted suspicious. Viewed them and then put on some hacks myself to see if they were. It's really weird when you think they're not cheating and then suddenly a somewhat normal movement actually turns out to be them watching a grenade fly by with pin point precision through two walls.

some people answered me just because its their way to feel superior to others and some people answered its for fun.
To me it is like disrespecting oneself and not even trying to work on the game that he/she is playing. Shortcuts.
I used to whiteknight in CSGO and CS2 for a few weeks because it just got so annoying. But after like not even a month i realized, its just not worth it... not these 5 Euros every week, nor those idiotic hackers.
And for everyone not knowing what whiteknighting means, here the explanation :
Whiteknighting is the sort of hacking, which you use to kill other hackers. So as long as everyone is clean, i play clean too. But as soon as someone starts cheating, i turn on my hacks to stand up to the hacker. For me it was just the thing of killing the hacker, and then letting someone else kill me, so it would be a fair 4v4 instead of a 5v5.
Its still bullshit, because hacking is hacking and whiteknighting is not an excuse, but sometimes it just gets so annoying that you need to have this.. "security" on your side, knowing you can do something against some idiot.
Oh yeah, and i obviously didn't turn on my cheats when there were only accusations or suspicions. Only used them when the enemy was clearly hacking.

I kind of differ. And let me reason with you. For someone from India, where gaming itself is frowned upon, breaking into the pro world is tough. And to be backed by a world renowned brand and to pull that, put shames on the entire region. Indian esports suffered catastrophically because of it.
So you are justifying cheating? Is that it? You have no shame that this guy brought shame on all Indian esports?
Most people start to cheat especially in csgo/cs2 since so many people do it also. I think its pretty fair
The Cameron situation was very nuanced, that was a terrible example
The only time I cheated is on games with built-in cheats like GTA SA, SC Brood War, Left 4 Dead, and CS 1.6. Cheating in online competitive games is something I will never understand.
It’s like being in a competitive scene with no competitive nature
Who was the guy they were chanting “loser” to at what looked like a lan event?
I mean the bike game thing is he just did that to get the best bike in the game. Who wants to grind for that
2:16 thats me
