Noah is on another level. I’ve seen Bad Omens live multiple times and dozens of interviews with Noah. He’s so reserved and soft spoken in his speaking but dude becomes unhinged live and puts so much emotion and power in his vocals.
Noah is arguably the most best vocalist when he is live and just in general, he sounds exactly like the records live, and the fact he is constantly changing resonates live just shows how much of a pro he is, a lot of vocalists when they are live are often flat or they strain a lot but he is just on another level!!!
Noah did a live tribute song for his friend Keaton, it was a Nashville show, and the song was called “Sympathy” which was Keatons song from Too Close to Touch. That to me was a chilling performance Noah did.
It’s amazing how far he’s come as a vocalist, even just from this live performance you’re reacting to… to newer and more recent live performances. Just gets better and better.
Also! I’ve noticed in newer live performances, Noah doesn’t do the overly exaggerated “I can” coming into the chorus.. it’s a lot softer now which in my opinion sounds really beautiful. For reference, check out their performance of just pretend from their live stream they did in New York in November.
Musically those screams vs head voice in the chorus are so musically amazing because it's like you can hear the resolve and desperation in each line. He's such an amazing songwriter and producer
Legit saw them live today Knotfest Sydney. Even when he had vocal issues the day before, he pulled off every song extremely well. One of the best metal core vocalists imo
my favorites are noah from bad omens, rory from dayseeker (was great live) but man.. lucas woodland of holding absence, dudes live vocals just absolutely blew me away, hit every single one.
I JUST found you and I know this is a year old, but I love how you break down what is going on with the singing and do it yourself to demonstrate. Fuckin' awesome.
Noah Sebastian is a STUPID talented vocalist. easily one of the very best in modern rock music. its really rare to hear someone who sounds as good live as the do on the studio recording. his range and abilities are just ridiculous
Not only is Noah an extremely powerful and talented vocalist, his versatility is absolutely second to none. He’s got a crazy range in his clean singing, and he’s definitely got his screams and growls down to a science
I also feel that while he's been on tour for the last several months, he has developed his voice even more! it was already freaken incredible but as they've been on tour and the more videos I see of their performances, the stronger he's gotten! it's amazing to watch!
Damm dude, this may be the best reaction I´ve ever seen in my entire life. You are so aware of what he´s doing as well as talented enough to replicate it. Good job
I've been listening to these guys for years it makes me happy they broke in to some mainstream success with this song. They are a great band and deserve it!
Just discovered bad omens a couple months ago and they are definitely my new favorite band currently. So much talent there. Hope I get the chance to hear them live someday.
The way you physically react to Noah singing is me every single time I listen to this whole album; with such excitement and awe. Such an out of body experience. Been waiting for you to do another Bad Omens song since I saw your Like A villain video! Please do the whole album!
Thank you for doing Bad Omens! You see all these Tool & Sleep Token videos all over the place but Noah deserves just as much attention, amazing singer, and the band as a whole does a lot of cool mixture of styles
I'm obsessed with this song atm and with Noah's voice in it but I wanted to say I love how humble and respectful Chris is and it makes me love and respect both even more 🤘
Idk why the old fans would hate this new album, his vocal skills are next level, yeah might not be as heavy but this stuff is still hard asf. I love how the vocals contrast the dark vibe of the instrumentals.
the vocals in this song are some of the best that I have heard in a while. Noah and Vessel from Sleep Token are 2 of the best rock singers right now IMO.
I’ve listened to this song since it came out and I’ve been captivated by noahs voice and the melody of this song but now that I’m going through a hard breakup I’m listening to the lyrics and it’s just…wow
Another awesome video breakdown, Chris! I love watching your videos. Noah literally floored me the first time I heard him live. His vocal range is otherworldly. I’m convinced there’s nothing he can’t do. He’s definitely leaned into his power and we all get to enjoy it with him.
You have no f*cking idea how much I LOVE your videos man, do you notice how he goes super high at the very end of a scream? That to me is absolute magic.
Just watched bad omens in Sydney Australia for our first ever Knotfest! They pulled out yesterday in Melbourne, but I’m so glad I was able to see them while they were in our beautiful country
Awesome video. You always sound amazing!! So appreciate the way you demonstrate the vocal techniques. And I agree with you 100% about pitch correction. Especially when you have a great singer like Noah. Great insights as always to make your voice more expressive and interesting.
Would be awesome if you could find any recordings of the concert they streamed from New York in December 2022. Noah is singing all of these songs so much better now. I got to see BO live on the EU leg of their tour and was absolutely blown away by his live performance.
first time im watching a vid made by you, i love your enthousiasm and besides that is really educational! its refreshing seeing someone using their voice and singing to give weight to the story they're trying to tell! loved it
Chris Liepe, you are the best. I wish I am living in your country because I can go to you and learn from you face to face….. Unfortunately, I am living too far away…….too bad!!!!
Subbed due to the scientific breakdown of the notes , tones, and examples absolutely amazing. Thanks Chris... This is amazing. dont care if this necro post
5:44 to 5:53 show it to your friends without any context. But seriously amazing song, Chris Liepe is amazing as well, keep up opening our heads up to new and interesting music.
At 4:57 It is actually Noah's head and chest voice together. I don't think it is mixed because you can hear the distintive low sound with the higher note laid over it. Pitching the low note up and softening the low and high sound. I found recently there is a line you can draw across the two. And by moving it up and down you can create complex mixed sounds. Brian Johnston has this feature about his voice making him difficult to emulate.
Went to his concert and honestly I love his vocals so much live🖤🖤🖤 Thanks for the advice might try this. Although pretty sure my voice could never be like his, he's a total star ✨
Noah is easily one of my top five vocalists atm Been a huge inspiration for me since I discovered them I'd like to see you react to Hiroki of My First Story sometime:) He has amazing control over his fry distortion and such a huge comfortable range
Not gonna lie there's been a few videos of yours where I thought your comments weren't very much on point, but you did a great job with Noah's video in particular and you actually helped me understand a lot so thanks!
Doing this as my first recorded cover is ballsy, but this song is beyond important to me. I’m making an announcement about it tomorrow, and I’m beyond excited.
Hes a living breathing Siren. I've never heard a voice like his sounds like an angel one second and growls like a demon the next absolutely beautiful 💖💖💖🎶🎶🎶✌️
Bad Decisions is a GREAT song to hear Noah's lower notes if you ever wanna check it out! Also, another good band is Citizen Soldier (I reccomend House Made of Memories or Fever from them). The lead singer makes just about all of the songs and draws inspiration from his journey battling depression
Let's analise dayseeker live Rory Rodriguez is awesome vocalist even Noah Sebastian said "dayseeker is fucking me" during the song haha they had tour with bad omens lately
I truly think Noah is the Dio in this generation or metal. He is just so unbelievably good, I’ve never heard anyone who is as good as him in this genre currently
I think the pitch correction is meant to create that eerie slick feeling his voice has-it makes the reverb watery and synth-like. I think it works really well from a sound design perspective.
I’ve seen Bad Omens live and Noah sounds just as amazing live as he does on the records! You can tell based on his live vocals that he uses minimal (if any) autotune in the studio
I would love to see you listen and coach through some of their stuff live at “union transfer” the user “suspisus” has great quality from that show. Personally I think “dethrone, and never know” are absolutely phenomenal in their live show
I think the pitch correction in that passage is a necessary pre-processing step for the vocoder. Those can do some funky "jazz" harmonizations if the pitch tracking sees you're straying from the programmed key.
imo i think he uses a bit his larynx to "reach" those notes but its somehow controlled so it doesnt hurt his voice though idk if its possible to not hurt your voice like that. idk to me it just really sounds that he uses the larynx a bit. interesting and beautiful as always, love it
Noah is on another level. I’ve seen Bad Omens live multiple times and dozens of interviews with Noah. He’s so reserved and soft spoken in his speaking but dude becomes unhinged live and puts so much emotion and power in his vocals.
I can’t unhear Noah saying it sounds like he’s getting ready to sneeze when he says “I can”
Noah is arguably the most best vocalist when he is live and just in general, he sounds exactly like the records live, and the fact he is constantly changing resonates live just shows how much of a pro he is, a lot of vocalists when they are live are often flat or they strain a lot but he is just on another level!!!
I'd say him and Rory Rodriguez are there at the top of the list! Amazing vocalists
@@pedropessoa2246 Dimash Kudaibergen
He is insanely good but I’m still leaning towards Brendon Urie from panic at the disco for best live and acoustic but that’s just my opinion
What xd you have not heared much in your life then :D
But he is good vocalist tho
@@pedropessoa2246 i thought that too until i hear Andy Cizek from Monuments, that guy is insane
Noah did a live tribute song for his friend Keaton, it was a Nashville show, and the song was called “Sympathy” which was Keatons song from Too Close to Touch. That to me was a chilling performance Noah did.

@@DonnyBartoo lol! I didn’t even catch that. Thank you! I gotta check that stuff. 🤣
@@DonnyBartoo fixed! 😮💨
That live Performance is just bejond perfect!! Chris ... For the love of god react to that please
@@joachimlunger520 this!😮💨😩 its absolutely perfectly heartbreaking.

Man... I know this is for the best. But my favorite thing in "Just pretend" was the "wah can wait".
I was at the Sydney show where he lost his voice part way through. Honestly, even at less than 100% he was still pretty damn good.
my favorites are noah from bad omens, rory from dayseeker (was great live) but man.. lucas woodland of holding absence, dudes live vocals just absolutely blew me away, hit every single one.
I JUST found you and I know this is a year old, but I love how you break down what is going on with the singing and do it yourself to demonstrate. Fuckin' awesome.
Noah Sebastian’s voice makes me melt into a puddle on the floor. He is so incredibly talented. 🤘🏻

I want more bad omens! Noah quickly became my favorite singer. Such an amazing and hard working vocalist
Noah's voice brings tears to my eyes. Craaaaazy talented 💯
Noah is literally the best in the game rn. Pls do more of their live stuff I love him so much

Damm dude, this may be the best reaction I´ve ever seen in my entire life. You are so aware of what he´s doing as well as talented enough to replicate it. Good job
The first song I ever heard and loved by Bad Omens was Dethrone. They're ever evolving, and I absolutely love them.
I've been listening to these guys for years it makes me happy they broke in to some mainstream success with this song. They are a great band and deserve it!
Noah’s voice is so haunting & captivating
Just discovered bad omens a couple months ago and they are definitely my new favorite band currently. So much talent there. Hope I get the chance to hear them live someday.
Noah is an incredible singer 🎉
i’ve always loved it when singers have that little sigh at the end of notes so i loved that you commented on that!

They have a cappella for the whole album on their channel now!
its stunning!! Really makes you appreciate the album even more!
Also maybe Issues or Palisades!

Hey Chris! Can you please analyze Rory Rodriguez’s voice from Dayseeker? His cries, screams and cleans are all so good.
Ooo, I second this. If he hasn't done it already, of course.
Yes pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase
I was just thinking this the other day!
100% this. Rory is insanely good. Saw Dayseeker live just a couple months ago.
we need this!
Saw them on february in Milan, Noah is something else!
I'm out of breath when I scream this in my car and noah is absolute chilling 😂😂
Wow ... That's live. He is amazing

Was meant to see them at download this year but pulled out was so gutted I love his voice
I absolutely love watching bands plays songs live on UA-cam. I can’t go to every concert and I know some lead singers are only good on albums.
Best vocal analysis chanel. Glad of the discover. You sing so wel, dude !
Absolutely enchanting! Thank you so much for sharing.
The vocals in Dark by October Ends are insane. Your version would be epic!

his voice sounds so cleeeean while he sings yet his usual speech seems to strangely handle his vocal fry at least in this video
Bobcat Goldthwait impression at 4:25? Lol I'm only teasing.... Great vid! :D
Saw them at the small stage at warped tour and been in love ever since

I do wonder if this is a stylistic choice to some of the songs because it's not on all of the tracks you see
I’ve never heard of this band before, thanks for the recommendation!
Bro, you are in for a REAL treat
Cant wait to see them finally in Finland Tuska Festival
please make a cover of this song i love the Song so much and i love youre voice so much 🤩

I’ve seen Bad Omens live and Noah sounds just as amazing live as he does on the records! You can tell based on his live vocals that he uses minimal (if any) autotune in the studio
Sir Chris is getting very good at analyzing vocal techniques.
You gotta do some of Ville Valo of HIM's live clips and stuff, that would be the best video ever 🙏🔥🔥🔥
I would love to see you listen and coach through some of their stuff live at “union transfer” the user “suspisus” has great quality from that show. Personally I think “dethrone, and never know” are absolutely phenomenal in their live show
Very few people have been given a voice like Noah. It's truly a gift.
Love those videos!
I think the pitch correction in that passage is a necessary pre-processing step for the vocoder. Those can do some funky "jazz" harmonizations if the pitch tracking sees you're straying from the programmed key.
I was at this show! I paid $5 in Louisville
Make a video about his cover to Sympathy live performance in Irving Plaza,NY or in Anaheim, CA
Bad Omens Somebody Else!
imo i think he uses a bit his larynx to "reach" those notes but its somehow controlled so it doesnt hurt his voice though idk if its possible to not hurt your voice like that. idk to me it just really sounds that he uses the larynx a bit. interesting and beautiful as always, love it
