I wouldn't say helper tracks. Bking Track's sure. But it would sound weird without all the layers that are already in the songs, to just not have it there. And JJ did a great job at backing vocals for the most part. A little weak on the acoustic version of strangers. But he's been thrown in the deep end with not much time to practice. I think he will come on in leaps and bounds though. Maybe even become a permanent fixture. Who knows. That's up to JJ though. I heard he was happy with just being with them on tour. Which seems to be most of the time since COVID.

He used to be hit and miss, but when he hit it was glorious. Wish I'd seen the royal Albert hall show. The fact that they used the intro for that was sooooo good. Very emotional with the old clips of them, Inc Chester. 😮 That was great. And noah sabastian is an amazing live vocalist too. When they did antivist together. That was great. John Jones. He's been on tour with them as a rhythm guitarist for about a decade now. I think he did a great job for the most part. But he has been thrown in the deep end with barely any practice. There's plenty of time for him to improve. Jordan had already been a bking vocalist in his own band. And Oli taught him to scream. Get JJ in some vocal lessons and see what he can bring. He's got something there to work with for sure. I missed Jordan when they did the acoustic version of strangers and doomed. Which are very tricky vocals. But other than that. He did great.

But thats the only time i thought, damn i miss Jordan. But hes been thrown in the deep end, si theyve got time to work on that fir sure. But overall. Outstanding. . . Dear @chrisliepe, thank you so much for your videos, I love them!!
Could you please analyse any live performance of Oli Sykes with BMTH? I am so very interested in your opinion concerning his breath control, compression and screaming when performing live.
For example, at Rock am Ring 2023 ua-cam.com/video/zSwqLsuJRY0/v-deo.html .
It seems that Oli releases all his breath quickly and the one who was really reliable and highly skilled was Jordan Fish (seems that he has the cleanest vocals and screams).
I'm comparing it to Chester Bennington's breath control on screams like here ua-cam.com/video/M_y-cjcg0QQ/v-deo.html , and it seems like Chester really could undergo the live performance, while for Oli it's much harder.
Thank you in advance, I'm really getting a lot of use from your videos!

JJ was thrown in the deep end. And he's got so much time to improve for sure. I think he's got potential to be really great. But other than that. I think they'll be more than fine, like you said. Not guna lie. I was upset. But I'm over it. The route the band has gone has always been oli's vision anyway. And he can produce himself now. Aswell as the help he gets. But they always had extra producers, even when Jordan was doing it. So it's sad. But not the end of the world. Maybe he'll improve spirit box. If the rumours are true. Not my thing. Her vocals kinda grate me. Not into the sound of women screamers. Apart from cassyette. Her screams live were amazing. I was surprised. And her from spritbox ruined nihilist blues when she joined Oli on stage. But that's Just my opinion. We like what we like. Or not. But Amy Lee set the bar for that,so pretty hard to top.

Oli should take some lessons from guys like you. Maybe that way he wouldn't be lip syncing half of his choruses live lol (I say this as a bmth fan).

I haven't seen them live (yet) but especially with these types of vocal arrangements... I can see why he'd use helper tracks. You're right tho... not everyone, even with the most complex and challenging songs, needs to do this. Spencer from Periphery for example. NAILS stuff and it's ALL LIVE!

@@chrisliepeMy observations from seeing them on their current tour is that Oli is never fully lip syncing. Vocal support is either from JJ (replacing Jordan) to let Oli catch his breath during choruses, or the extra layered vocals that are on the record . I could always hear Oli's voice over the supporting tracks, I think he or JJ is always singing the lead parts.

Agreed on this. Lots of layering, and some of it *is* likely extra melody to boost Oli on more difficult sections. This can give the appearance of lip synching, and some people believe it is essentially lip synching. But personally, I'd rather experience a fuller sound in a live performance than the vocals be stripped down and 100% live only. A front man's performance is about far more than just vocals anyway, IMO.@@longbow46

Lip syncing!. bking track is not the same as lip syncing mate. If they didn't use the backing track,it wouldn't sound right. There's so many layers to their tracks,I'd would sound weird/sh1te. I saw them on Friday. And there's no way he was lip syncing. If he was, then the guy should be acting in movies. Because he's 1 hell of a actor. Could see the veins popping out,the red face, and him on the floor doing long screams. He was on the big screens mostly too, and you would have seen a F up at some point. You can tell when it's fake. Cassyette were lip syncing, but she was told not to sing,by a GP. And it's better than having to cancel. And Oli had a vocal coach btw. A very good 1.
