Did you notice when Osha woke up at Qimir's/The Sith's place, she was free but when Mae woke up her hands and feet was in shackles? Sol tied her up. She wasn't free.
For some reason, I have a feeling that the Darkside character is a reference to the Padawan killing prophecy from Legends, where a bunch of Jedi had a premonition that one of their padawans was going to fall to the Darkside and kill all of them, so they decided to kill their padawans first, but they screwed it up. One survived fell due to the betrayal and came back and killed them all.
1) Venestra. I'm just not trusting her now. Maybe she was *counting* on the whole away team getting killed, keeping whatever the secret could be. 2) Already there's some viewer all whacked out of shape about the bathing scene. No frontal, no man-butt, yet *"The children...what about the CHILDREN???"* Okay, calm down, Aunt Bea... 3) Those scars on Qimir's back...Venestra's doing? 4) I'm really enjoying your after episode commentaries. It's nice to not hear any negativity, just honest critique. Thanks! 5) Ready for next week's installment!
Qimir saying that his master long time ago tried to kill him, is actually a hint to understand the whole plot of the Acolyte. As is stated in the Rule of Two, the appreantice eventually kills the master. But sometimes master don't want to die (suprise), and kills the appreantice. The real sith of this series is hidden inside The Order. And he is using Jedi to hunt down his pupil, who survived the assasination attempt. Then he can kill him, so no one will know that the Sith's infiltrited the Jedi order. Eventually, everyone in this series will die. Qimir is 100% dead, Sol will be wrongly prosecuted (or maybe he is the Sith), Mae and Osha will both die/be prosecuted/will escape.
@@hauntreaper yup. But that could be misleading. What if her apprentice, aka Qimir, rebelled, they had a fight, Vernestra thought she killed him, but he survived. That way the story is still valid, she isn't the Sith 'we're looking for' and Qimir's other master is still out there.
every thing with Osha and Qimir on that "Unknown Planet" the whole situation is like a mirror reversed version of Rey and Luke on Ach-To in The Last Jedi? I mean it seemed fully intentional. Is the actor that was portraying the padawan in the search party with Master Vernestra the same actor that portrayed Dr. Gorst from Andor? It sure sounded like him.
I find the Episode endings in this show completely baffling. With most shows that use "cliffhanger" endings there's at least some meat to chew on while you wait for the next episode and the plot usually moves forward in each episode. But each episode ending of this show leaves me feeling empty/unfulfilled. I think the problem might be that they keep essentially using the same cliffhanger on every episode when they should have (and could have) already dealt with it sooner. Or in the case of episode 4 they started a battle then ended the episode, which also felt very unsatisfying. And it's weird because Russian Doll did cliffhanger endings so much better. I need to know how/why Disney and the editors of this show decided to split up the episodes the way they did and how they missed this glaring problem. Maybe it's because they're relying on withholding key pieces of information from the audience in a way that feels so obvious you can "see" the writing process and it feels unnatural? Maybe it's because we'll crafted cliffhanger endings give you the shocking info before the episode break and the "cliffhanger" is the audience wondering how the info will impact the characters and their actions in the next episode? I don't know but something about these episode endings especially is really bothering me...
Part of the problem is not even the story but how they cut to credits. In Star Wars we usually had rousing music that led to the credits and then the epic score kicked in when they started rolling. This show, however, tends to use calm, quiet moments to go to the credits and when the circle transition comes, it transitions to silence before the score slowly starts. It's always a real fizzle out moment with no energy that feels almost like an afterthought of the "Well, I guess me might as well end it here" variety.
Am I missing something? Every reactor seems SO pumped about the Selkath alien that just sits in the background. I've never seen it before and I am wondering why everybody is so thrilled by a guy in a rubber Catfish head.
