    I thought it was obvious from the trailers that Carrie-Ann Moss wasn't in this show much. We barely saw any clips, and they were all from the same location. I guessed (but wasn't sure) that she would be killed since the few clips we had of her was from the fight. So either she was only in the show for a cameo, or they were going to use her for a secret role (and Disney isn't that creative).

      My issue is that hubris, arrogance, etc, creeping into the Jedi Order leading to its eventual downfall is something we already saw in the prequel. We're supposed to be in the era where the Jedi are supposed to be at their peak, mythical status and we're getting Jedi that are having the wool pulled over their eyes (seemingly) and clearly showing arrogance, hubris, sketchiness(?) and sort of this bureaucratic incompetence. That's... nothing we haven't seen before and it's not what I'm interested in seeing when I thought we were going to finally see the mythical Jedi of yore.
      I don't know if the current narrative is going to be that the mythical, legendary Jedi were never a thing and they were always arrogant and full of hubris with clouded judgement (which makes me wonder how they maintained the peace for centuries even thousands of years) or that we have to just go even further back in the timeline to find them. Either way, it's familiar territory we've already explored so I'm hoping we get interesting and/or creative storytelling in the remaining episodes.

    • @Ruylopez778
      @Ruylopez778 8 місяців тому

      This is a really bad take.
      1. Sabine was an established character that people cared about.
      2. The show was about them learning to work together. Which is why at the end she goes to help Ahsoka.
      3. The point was that she lost Ahsoka's trust, and the map, and later when Sabine had to choose, she chose Ezra over destroying the map, not the injury. Ahsoka continued her search without Sabine, which resulted in Hera getting into trouble.
      4. Killing off a new character that nobody knows or cares about doesn't take any writing skill at all.
      5. That said, surviving lightsaber stabs is lame, as is most of the writing in these shows, especially the way they pad a 2 hour story into 4+ hours.

    • @Ruylopez778

    Just finished the first two episodes, and thought they were solid! Haven't watched a SW series since Obi-Wan, which I wasn't crazy about, but the mere thought of a show revolving around Jedi not set around the time of the Skywalkers made me give this one a chance. The dialogue was weak but the performances were good, the production value was there, and the story and fight choreography at least have me interested to see what happens next! I've come to accept that this is just a different era of Star Wars and that I can't expect the same type of connection with the franchise as I did growing up.

    I’m really trying to decipher whether or not I like the idea that they reveal the twist this early on versus having it to be as predictable as it could’ve been for us to figure out along the way. Personally, I’m leading towards the idea that was better this way for now. Also Kristian, I did not get a notification for this video for some reason. Don’t know what UA-cam is doing.

    I'm more curious if the Sith warrior at the end is the apprentice or the master. I have a feeling he's just the apprentice who's training Mae to be his apprentice. Could still make Tenebrous canon. I have a feeling by the end of this series (not necessarily just Season 1) that both Mae and this Sith Lord will die, giving way to Darth Plagueis to rise. Just a theory but I'm definitely locked in.

    It surprises me that it shocked everyone. I was expecting Trinity to be the Jedi that got killed. They're trying to cheat, we have no emotional attachment to the character so they cast a beloved actor. That being said, I'm enjoying the show. I don't love it yet, but it has potential.

    A lot of money spent on a decent plot for it to look like a fan made, fan acting TV show. In fact, there are fan made stories, acting, ideas I like more.
    I was so hyped too. Could it still improve over the next episodes? With what I am not liking across 2 episodes, no.

    If it wasn’t supposed to be part of Star Wars, I might’ve liked it more. But I can’t help but compare it to all the originals and how wonderful those movies were. Maybe it’s nostalgia. It’s just doesn’t feel like Star Wars, but that’s just my personal take.

      It think different Star Wars prohjects or eras mean different things to different people. I'm a big originals guy as well! Grew up with the prequels but frankly they are realtively poor films, with age and film experience this becomes harder to ignore. Still, I take and appreciate the good they provided. MEanwhile some think the prequels are the best films ever made. Others were brought into the fandom under Disney and the sequels. Ultimately there is no right way to like a franchise that spans 5 decades, that's changed hands many times and tries to appeal to different people.

    Why'd they keep the twin reveal secret, because making it a "twist" doesn't work because it's so easy to figure out. They should have been promoting the show as a story about two sisters, one good and one evil. Instead, they tried to make it seem like it was a story about a former Jedi that went bad, which it isn't.

    Hey there Kristian at first I knew nothing of this show and had no interest at all whatsoever. I'm a StarWars fan and love StarWars but I never got into the animated stuff (with the exception of the Bad Batch which was awesome) so I never dug Ashoka etc. I didn't really get into Ashoka but enjoyed a few episodes and it was entertaining. I'm not a hater but I like what I like. So I just went into this new Acolyte series with a blind eye knowing nothing and kind of expected to just...eh...watch it but after watching the first episode I was kind of intrigued and then by the end of episode 2 I'm totally in. It's very different and still a bit Star Wars so to speak and I enjoyed it very much so now I'll be watching it religiously to the end and I look forward to riding the train with you and your show talking about each episode mixing it up. I know you like opinions etc and my opinion is I like this show. I was surpised and I'm having fun with it. It's very different. Thank you for your hard work and fun entertainment with all your crew participating in this. Thumbs UP as always and shared because I have class lol and I will actually use your code for AG1 or whatever that healthy drink is to get healthier...I saw an ad on Hulu but I'd rather support your channel buying that product to help us both out. I’m on the fence. 1st Episode didn’t blow me away. The fight scene wasn’t great, the first time you meet Carrie Ann Moss she shouldn’t be matrix fighting. The choreography was slow, I just didn’t believe it. Jedis were fast and acrobatic they’re at their height in this time!
    Let’s see where it goes. I’ve got nothing against a female director/writer, but I hope she’s not trying to force an agenda. I didn’t warm to her feminist tone during interviews at Celebration.

      After the trailer I thought it was gonna be trash and not even feel like Star Wars but after i watched it I ran to UA-cam and was surprised to see negative reviews- the show isn’t amazing but its good (7/10) i just don’t understand how someone who’s loves the Star Wars universe can’t be thrilled about it. It’s opened up the potential of exploring previous eras. Anyone who has read the bane or plagues books can’t help but love the lore. I’m afraid if the review is too negative Disney won’t view storytelling of unknown characters as profitable. A lot of criticism is very political too talking about “girl boss”- the sequels and Rey as a character are trash and I don’t even consider it canon but this was nothing like that. I swear after the sequels fans are so bitter we can’t even appreciate a good thing when it’s handed to us. If this dropped before the sequels fans who grew up with the prequels would have geeked.

    I thought one of the complaints about the trailers was that they told us that Moss would be dead by wednesday morning. As for the cover-up, I guess that's only really revealed in the second episode that there's f-ery around the circumstances of that fire so maybe the characters' behaviors will make more sense to you after that one.
    Cool show though. I don't know if it'll make me retroactively interested in the High Republic but it's fun to see the hypocritical state of the Order at the time. $10 says that Mae dies and Osha becomes the next Sith apprentice by the end of the show, though.

    • @wkadalie
      @wkadalie 8 місяців тому +1

      I don't think the trailers suggested she would die first. The trailers seemed to suggest she was leading the investigation. Into the missing jedi. And she would team up with Osha to find the Sith. I think we all suspect that all these Jedi will die eventually in this show.

    I liked it, im enjoying it so far. Some quibbles, sure, but i think this episode so far has nailed the visuals and sound and is consistent with what we know - the Jedi are in decline, they're arrogant and fallible. They're making stupid decisions. That has to be there in order for the prequels to work. The Republic and the Jedi Order didnt collapse over night, it has been a slow decay and we're seeing that here. I wouldn't say I love it yet, but I'm digging it more than a lot of other SW stuff recently. Looking forward to more!

Carrie anne moss died stupidly imo, the comments say shell be back in flashbacks , i dont really care for that, especially how her character died.
