I was thinking my Sienna was just refusing gas over $5 a gallon.
Better than 2.60/L!
Thank you sir, saved me quite a bit of time and probly some money too, less than 5 minutes and it takes fuel like a champ!
Nice...!~
what kind of vehicle do you have?
It worked, thanks!
Yea!!!

I need to remove that little vavle that's inside how do I do that
I’ve tried to reset the baffle it is stuck how can you help
Damn, he just pumped a gallon of gas for like 2 bucks…. Those were the days.
Right!
I replaced damn near everything on my Toyota and finally figured out this damn line has been clogged. It's causing a ton of problems like rough idle and exhaust pipe overheating. The exhaust pipe getting too hot could be because of damaged valves but I'm betting it's this clogged line. We'll find out soon!
I just put a brand new fuel tank in my 97 f150 and now it won't take fuel you have to nurse it in by barely squeezing the handle and it takes a while to get 25 gallons in it.
I'm thinking my issue might be something else maybe a clogged vent tube or carbon canister which I'm going to see if I can't just bypass I live in the country I don't need emissions inspections and yes I hate the environment LOL
Nice!~
@@FixingWithPassion
What's really nice is putting 25 gallons of fuel in the tank at $4 a gallon here in Kentucky. LoL
What did you hafta do to fix your issue?
After fighting with this issue for months, and pulling the entire fill tube off checking for a screen, this was great to find. I just wish that I could pull the damn thing out completely. Thank you for sharing this.
You Can! Use an extension from your tools or a punch, what ever and tap it right out of there. Now, it will fall into the bottom of your tank but, that want hurt anything. Just remember, your pushing, tapping hitting on a plastic value and a spring that is inside a gas tank. "CAREFUL" You do not want any kind of ignition source. This is a rollover valve, in case the vehicle rolls over it stops the gas from draining out.
Hello Friend! great video. my car after I changed the fuel pump makes a hiss from the fuel tank and the pump always trips. Should it work here too? mine is 2007.
Does that work on gmc
@@gerrardromero7012 Not sure
Followed this video. Baffle was fine so I blew into the hose in case something was blocking it. Turned out it was a piece of plastic that fell off a portable gas tank. Blew that sucker right out.
Great Story! Thanks for sharing!~
Awesome- thanks. My son has this problem with his 1998 dodge 2500 van. Hope this video answers his problem. Thanks again
Had the problem of not fueling but when i got under the rubber hose has collapsed. The one that attaches to the tank.
O my!! My TB is now doing it ;(
Don’t buy any us cars go Japanese and be happy
Your video left me completely "BAFFLED!" 😮😃 😀
This was the video I needed! I had seen another video that mentioned some screen that had gotten clogged, so when I pulled the lower hose off, I did exactly what you described (before I watched the video). Hoping it fuels up properly now!
Thanks man!
Did it work?
Damn, I hope this is the damn thing that needs to be fixed on my Mustang cause it drives me crazy standing at the pump fueling for 10 minutes. Thanks in advance!
I hope do!
Those ramps are not ones I would trust.
Does tank have to be empty to do this?
No.
So does the inside check valve (baffle) postition need to be forward toward fill tube or back toward the tank, before reattaching filler tube?
forward toward fill tube springy action sorts
My elderly aunt took her 02 Explorer XLT Limited to the dealership twice !!. Each time they charged her for a new gas tank ! 😫😡
gracias !!Save me 💰 as well ! Lots of Bless
So I just checked mine. Is the little flap supposed to stay open?
No. Its suppose move freely while closed.
@@FixingWithPassion ok the flap on my car moved easily. I’ve changed my evap canister & changed the purge solenoid. What else could the issue be? The roll over valve?
My mountanier mercury 2008 , after we replaced fuel pump, the car works now but the car says fuel level low and shows its on empty, we try putting gas and the pump stops every dollar of gas we keep putting in, and leaks a litttle but no crazy leak just drissles. .
Thanks much . Can it be done on a ford edge 2010? Thanks brother
Word!!
Can't hurt to try...if not check the purge valve.
Check the straps holding your tank. 1 of mine had broken.Once fixed, I was able to fill up no problem. Maybe pushing the tank back up freed the baffle...
Ok!
Thanks! Saved me 250.00..:)
Hell ya! $$$
My danm Saturn vue xe at the gas pump keeps shutting off I replace the purge silonoid and a new canister and it still do the same what can it be can it be the pressure sensor on the tank or the vent valve on the tank that is bad cause theres a sound under the tank like if some one is banging the tank can it be that the tank valve is crack and that why the sensor are not complain cause is a crack on the vent valve or the pressure it self
Thank a lot. I been suffering with this issue for a very long time. I even replace the chacole canister thinking it was a Evap issue. Your video opend my eyes.
Well, it actually is an evap issue because this is the hose that goes to your charcoal canister.
I have a dodge grand caravan from 2009 and i have the puke problem , can i do the same for my van like you did for your ford? And when i take that hose won’t be gas coming out from the tank ?
great video
Thxs a lot. Is it the same configuration for 2006 explorer 4.0?
Ghareb Soliman.... I think so...or close to it!
My issue is at the pump I'm able to get 20$ nd 25 tops.. I was thinking it the floating device inside the tank..
Yes!!
Thank you. Wish I would have found your vid when it was warm out with no snow. Come spring time, however, my plow truck will be all set.
Better later than never ;) Happy Fixing!
I have this issue lincoln AVIATOR. I NEED SOME INPUT.
Fix or repair daily. Im going to try this on my POS ford. I only bought this pile of crap to go shooting and take my 40% RC plane to the flying field. Insurance company says its worth $3500 and I bought it for $1500’ maybe it will catch on fire and Ill get something else 😂😂😂
I have a 93 f150 with dual tanks, and both the front and rear tanks do this.. Have not gotten into it to see if the anti-siphon valve or (baffle) is even there, but if it is, can I just remove it? And how difficult is it to get out? Looking for help without going to a spendy shop, thanks?
You can't remove it. Take off the hose going into the tank. You should see it.
you're the best ford man i 've ever seen
Thats happened to me on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab Lonestar Edition 4.7 liter engine. My fill tank and the computerized system near the tank is way different than yours. Anyways I took it to the dealership and paid $750 for the labor and some parts. I just don't understand I keep up with my truck put the best gas you can get at Shell and never let it get below a quarter tank and I still have problems. my gas tank is 34 gallons I believe maybe 36 because it usually takes about a little over $100 to fill up. My engine s not some ordinary 4.7 liter it's a high compression ratio that uses premium and super unleaded gasoline. every once in awhile I can get away with regular unleaded but at the end my engine will start the clatter and some of my center with the anti lock system will activate alerting me at the fuel quality. But anyways I love your video.
Dealerships are criminals and so are Mechanics.
Thank you . I just bought n 07 and I’m having this problem. Going to try this out tomorrow
;D
Have a 14 Focus st takes half a tank, hope this works
Me too!!
Every time i try to fill the tank full i dont get at the capacity i usually get around 11.815 but the car manuel say gas tank capacity is 14.5 gallon should i get a mechanic to check on it
I have a 2008 Jeep Patriot doing the same thing. Do you think it might be the same issue?
$100 says yes!
Same
I have a 2000 expedition that won't take a gallon...will try this, thanks for very clear lesson.
Cool....work it good!
Did you fix the gas filling problem?
I have the same issue with my 2004 suzuki forenza, any possible chance that it could work for my car?
Great working so far on POS 04 Chevy avalanche
Aaron Thomas is it still working I have the same issue along with it stalling out when I get gas and it only gets halfway full lol oh it’s a 04 avalanche
i know this is a long shot beings though this video is 5 years old but im just wondering would that cause pressure to build up in the tank?
theres no codes and i cannot figure out why my pressure keeps building up and making noises at the gas cap 98 f150..any suggestions would be appreciated
Thank you! Confirmed my husband's guess.
Thank you your video was a big help.
Thanks!
Think this would work with a 99 f-150?
I think so....they all basically work the same ;)
Ditto on the ‘99 f150. Did you ever get it to work?
You are very kind, thank you very much.
Should you unfree it or just free it?
You want to free the valve. Unfree means stuck closed, duh
thanks for taking the time to share this info!!
Nice video....Do you know how those baffles are usually connected to the inside part of the tank?...In my case, I've done what you did, but it just returns back...It's actually an anti-theft thing....Was thinking about just trying to bend it out of the way of the hole, so it won't possibly be a problem in the future....
I think its a stop ball in case you roll your car up side down. I'd hit it again a few times more just a little bit harder. Could be just still slightly stick.

Also, the gas tank shouldn't be full.
Yes!!
Got a 89 accord with the same refusing gas and spilling over problem I’m gonna try this thank you! I’ll keep you guys updated
You still working on it?
Very insightful video, I have a 00 mustang GT that has the same problem, along with a fuel can't bleed/vent code... perhaps I can follow your instructions and remedy the issue.
i have the issue i can literally the gas Leaking out when I pull
Mines is spewing gas when i try to remove it
very, very helpful. god bless you
What size is the hose that you took the clamp off of?
2"
Hi " I have a jaguar x type 05 it keep shutting the pump off ..what can I do...
lets see
Hi Nathan, I gave this a try on my son's 2002 Explorer. I could feel that the Flapper was there, and I was able to push it in some, but then it just stopped. I used the handle of the socket wrench, but didn't want to break anything by pushing too hard. How far in should the flapper go?
PS. Great video. Concise and to the point...other Tubers could learn from you. Nothing worse than someone trying to show you how to do something, but all they do is editorialize and spend 15 minutes on a 3 minute repair.
Best regards,
Rob
Maybe 1"
Hi will this work on a jaguar type 2005
Possible
You call that easy everytime you get gas
Could you shove a 3/8 hose in it?
Did this fix it long term? Or did you find you had to go back and clear up cloggs in vent lines, canister, vent valve etc?
Fixed it.
I have a 1970 impala and I’m having the same issue, think this will work for me?
I thinks so.
Many tanks! I mean, many thanks!
Word!
Thank you kindly! This worked perfectly, and very much appreciate your time in making this video. BTW, I have confirmed with FORD that they NO longer make/sell brand new gas tanks, so the ONLY option is your recommendation! Best regards
O wow!
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?
I was dumb lost my account password. I love any assistance you can give me
@Davis Lyric Instablaster =)
@Adrien Blaine thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Adrien Blaine It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D
anyone think you could just put something long enough in there to just wiggle it around without doing all this?
Yes you could...as long as you have a way to keep the little flapper from catching what ever you use when you pull it back out. Maybe use a small garden hose.
I'll try my subaru. Hope it works. Thanks man
Not sure how subaru is set up, but let us know how it works out so we all know!
Did it work?
did it work for u? im hyaving same problem
Why'd Ford stupidly put baffles in the gas tank?
Chevy does also...having trouble with my trailblazer now...ugh.......puking everywhere.
@@FixingWithPassion It's stupid enough to have been mandated by the government. I wonder if government regulations mandate this? I wish we could go back to 100% mechanical cars, with no electronically controlled interfaces. They are just more opportunities for part failure. (Though I realize this isn't an electrical issue. They are lifr-threateningly serious. )
Will that make the needle say full even if tank is almost empty? Thanks.
No.
good video man
Thanks.
i have a 2005 gmc envoy xl will it work for me?
Perhaps.
good video thanks!
Thanks!
Good luck on your Channel!
It’s all good under the hood
Thank you
Holy shit thank you
Thanks for sharing, just what I needed!
Thanks for this! I've got an old C10 giving me this problem and I'll bet this fixes it.
I’m gonna try this on my F 150
Ok,~
My 95 F150 is doing the same thing. Trouble is the fill tube enters the TOP of the tank... Can't get at it without dropping tank or removing bed.
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks!
Im going to try it
Hope it works
Evap box need replacing
Na fixed it.
does this fix also apply to a diesel vehicle?
Possible....
Thank you
Bj Simmons ....Word!
Hi, where are you located, I'm in Houston, Texas.I'm looking for a mechanical, can I do this on a jaguar type/2005 ?
So you just make sure it moves back and forward?
Yea
Nathan Rohrbough thankyou
Ok what if I took the line off just like that and poked it like in the video and it spits gas out?I took it apart and everything!!
Anyone think this will work on a 1990 f250 7.3idi?
Help!!! The shop says i have an objective blocking. I ask them what is it. They say they have to drop my tank and cut open to know. Will run me 600... does that sounds right?
If it starts go for it.
Nathan Rohrbough btw my truck is still under the 100k warranty.... am confuse
Just have someone else look at it that knows what there doing.
Thanks 4 getting back. Guess ill just pay 600 and work some OT. $_$
Nathan Rohrbough they just went 600 to 2000. I think those people bs
I'm going to try it.
Hit it good...;)
I pulled the baffle out and still have the same issue
Lucky Plumber ....Hum....something is restrict ING the air pressure. I'd check to see if you have a blockage issue.
I saw a guy on a Chevy video pull his tank and ran air thru all the vent lines . He blew a whole bunch of crap out of his . May work for you
U
Nice video. But still he has to use his hand to control the pressure. What does that mean??
A screwdriver and a hammer takes care of that valve
Thank You.
;D
Thanx
Thanx U
I don't think my 05 gmc sierra has this. I checked today and didn't see one. Does anyone know if it does and maybe I'm just not seeing it?
Drew sorry so late to your question. But I have 05 silverado. The baffle is inside the hose not at the tank.
Thanks a bunch for the video. (Port Colborne, Ontario)
:D
Blew out all the lines, still won't fill. Didn't get to this yet, had to leave. Will try tomorrow
omah did it work?
