This closed the 6th, I'm so sad! T_T
Beautiful suit Adam. Is there an average height and size this suit is good for? Or can I ask how tall you are?
i dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost my password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Steven Alexzander instablaster ;)
@Maximilian Rudy i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
you should do an exhibit somewhere, a "hall of suits" where you get as many of your suits as possible on mannequins or at least a framework to see them standing! I'd pay to see that!
Mike Nelson hall of armour sounds better! Hall of suits sounds like a history of lawyers museum exhibit.
@@arghjayem I was just thinking that his space suits and such might not count as armor
@@mikecnelson what is a space suit but armor against a vacuum?
The Adam Savage Museum. With a Mythbusters Hall, Hall of Suits, Armoury, Model Exhibitions, The Space Hall and so much more!
Whatever the name, it’s a GREAT idea. I went to a James bond exhibition here in Australia and it had original suits, cars, drawings, movie set designs, scripts, photos etc. It was amazing and drew a big crowd. Adam could easily pull something like this off.
The amount of work that went into a film that wasn't particularly well received is incredible, it was the same with the 47 Ronin armour.
That movie was absolute trash. I watched it with good eyes, but there's nothing good about it. Power Rangers but in China.
Jernau Morat Gurgeh that’s just how it goes, you know? This is true with everything. As I have heard said. Hard work does NOT ensure success. But hard work, perseverance, forward thinking, and just the right amount of ambition can make it much more likely!
But even then it’s never a sure thing. It’s a little disheartening sometimes, but that’s just how it goes.
@@PaulMab9 in today's blockbuster system, everybody works hard except the writers and star movie actors. Then we get almost technically perfect exercises bud overall quality films. Also, the Great Wall was a good example of Hollywood trying to get into China (there's was no plot, just China pride) just as Aladdin for the middle easterns around the world.
@@Danirio96 I was wondering when I saw it if China has actual myths about weird monsters (or aliens?) beyond the wall.. Sad in hindsight they put so much work into the armour, Imagine if it had been a Mongol invasion or something instead of just a big mass of CGI
NjK they definitely do. Not as myth heavy as Japan, but they do.
Adam, you should 100% make a functional armor that looks like one of the prop suits of armor you get from these auctions. I think it would be such a cool project to watch you make.
SCADIAN armor!
Second that
I don't know if this is the same for anyone else, but after watching these videos (Adam going through Auction items and his armour, especially the series where he crafted the Excalibur armour) I've gained such a huge respect for the hard work that the costuming and prop department go through to make these films. Even films I didn't enjoy, I always take and second and just appreciate the world building and just sheer volume of hard work these people put into their craft to make these world's feel real whilst making the actors and extras as comfortable as possible.
ive noticed in these costume videos that norm is kinda like adams squire.
I've noticed you don't have a SHIFT key. :D
OMG you're so right! Squire Norm!
his young ward
I think he was called a squire in the Excalibur armor video!
I love the reverence in your voice as you open and see these items.
The amount of work done for a movie of that quality is unbelievable
I'm in love with that tiger shield.... beautiful!
they're even more impressive in person, which is saying something because props are made to look good on camera
thank you for not having ads on this video!
"white linen, that's for archival..." Immediately puts it on the floor
I was just about the post the exact same comment lol.
Dude! I love that ”Hit me baby” song of yours!
I was about to comment the same thing. It bothered me.
He didn't say FOR, he was referring to white linen being a technique. its just a cheap acid free white linen.
Ha, I was thinking exactly the same thing!
That shield is absolutely incredible to look at.
Adam's excitment brings smile to my face. And, what beautiful piece of art!
Squire Norman, you must pull tighter on my greave. Yes my lord.
I love watching Tested! You are so enthusiastic, joyous! You haven’t lost the excitement and wonder, curiosity and adventure of boyhood. You are a combination of Da Vinci, Einstein, Marco Polo and Newton with a generous hunk of Huckleberry Finn thrown in! You brighten my day! (And I often learn something, too!) Thanks from a 79 year old granny living life via UA-cam in her lazy-girl chair!
Does anyone else find themselves looking at the tools/gear/storage in the background instead of the actual content? Everything is on castors.... its all things great about workshops and set design all rolled into one visual candyshop.
My mind is bending with the amount of craftsmanship as I drop it on the floor.
Crafts people ship.. lol
G'day Adam Greetings from Sydney Australia. The armor looks AWESOME! You look like you're ready to take on the horde single handedly.
I love how you geek out over the level of artistry. Of the craft people who made the armour.
BTW - LOVE the socks!
Oh wow, I'm actually in the middle of building a Ming dynasty armour. A non-prop one, made of metal.
The "triangular maille" is called mountain pattern scale, named so because the scales look like the Chinese character for mountain: 山. They slide under and over eachother, leaving only the three pointed star figure exposed, which this prop is emulating. The reason it's only emulated is because those scales are a pain to fabricate. You can trust me on this one.
Great to see this here, Adam. I'll go check out that film and its props. Cheers!
Redmar Kerkhof thanks for sharing that info! Awesome
Just offering independent confirmation that "mountain armor" is a PITA to fabricate. Even if modern CNC cutting makes it far easier, it's still VERY time-consuming to assemble, so small wonder they just emulated the looks.
I’m also making a chinese armor from the Song dynasty but made from cardboard.
Just FYI there is no evidence backing up the name of this thing. The original source does not describe how the mountain pattern armor look and the triangular shaped stuff is called "suozi" in another original source and it is more of a design pattern than actual armor.
@@caesarzhiyuzhang5805 That is good to know. The more I work on this armour, the more I suspect they didn't actually use 山 shaped scales. It just makes no sense. Your comment seems to reaffirm that suspicion.
I knew there was no archeologolical evidence for the stuff existing but it's interesting to learn that even the name is distputed. Though I suppose it's not surprising.
Could you tell me how to write "suozi" in Chinese characters? It might help me in my research. Thanks.
My best friend got one of the armors from the auction, and I got to see it myself it's so gorgeous, and it was one of the most worn out and damaged ones it's incredible how amazing these are

Adam's enthusiasm and wonder honestly helps restore my faith in humanity. He's a treasure
wow the craftsmanship is insane !!!
Craftspersonship
@@Fuzzycat16 ?
@@RAF_Ai he said Craftpersonship.
Adam is a wordsmith like no other.
“Crafts-person”
“Craftsman”
“Craft-people”
I'm pretty sure we all live VICARIOUSLY through +Adam Savage when he does the unboxing of these amazing armors/movie outfits/props. And forget about it when he gets to wearing it... it looks awesome. I gotta get me one of those armors some day. Thanks Adam and Tested!
the amount of detail that was put into props...damnn...if only the movie was as good
Awesome armour and I love Adam's excitement as he eyeballs each and every piece.
Althought its not christmas, I am grateful to see how Adam would be on christmas opening gifts with all the ooh and aah's :D
There is a crate there labeled "The Martian"!!!!!
Toby Wild I thought he dropped that project only like 2 vids came out on it
@@gfbday5007 The Martian suit is a LONG term project. Theres no way he dropped it. I wouldn't be surprised if he debuts it a Dragon Con
The Martian is his long term labor of love project.
where in the video is this crate?
At 9:40 , when he is putting on the boots.
I've never seen the film and from the clips I've watched I never want to, but the costuming looks amazing I've give them that.
impressive craftsmanship.
One of the best, most intricate, the coolest, the most badass, full suit I have ever seen. I'm pretty jealous.
Edit:.you look freakin good in that armor!
Adam unboxes the coolest things.
My mind is swirling with all of the potential cosplays one could come up with if one had one of these suits of armor.
King of Wuzhen - Jie Ge,he can
I do wonder if they'll ever get their hands on one of those Black hooded coats from the Kingdom heart series. Just imagine how cool that would look.
Adam savage's beard fits surprisingly well to the color of this Armour.
when you saw good details on their costumes in trailer..you know its good movie.
sadly its not, music, cosdtume and special effect are all good, but the acting and story telling? total crap, lowest level in popcorn movies.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE. A UNDERRATED MOVIE FOR SURE .
Adam, love you man! Have loved you from the day I first saw you! You blown your way into my heart! You just get better and better! Thanks man for sharing your life with us!
6:07 - channeling Tim the Tool Man. Love it.
Squire Norm come hither - dude.
Adam it's so enjoyable to see you enjoy unwrapping that custom and eventually wear it. As soon as I finished the recent video of that krull video i jumped into this video because i couldn't wait to see you unwrap and wear the armor. I'm just surprised at how much you love it 😁✌🏻
I'm dieing for a longer video that's a tour of all your armours and assorted costumes. Either that or can you set up a museum
Those shields are amazing! Woo!!
Please make a witcher armor Adam. That will be great!
One TV series actually used full scale METAL armors based on historical manuscripts and sculptures.
In case you are interested, it's 长安十二时辰The Longest Day In Chang'an.
Adam, my local community theater is doing a production of Night of The Living Dead, and I just want to say that as the prop master of the play your work has and will always continue to inspire me with what I do.
Craftspersonship. Thank you Adam.
Adam, you look great in this armor. You actually looks like an senior general on the battle field😄
Adams shirt is on inside-out!!
Probably hiding something NSFW. It's Adam, he did it on purpose with good reason
@@jenyates3033 either NSFW or copywritten
@@baseballjustin5 Copyright on a shirt does not stop you from wearing it the right way round. When you buy a garment wearing it is very much what you are permitted to do with it. On TV, UA-cam or wherever.
See this is what I really like about movies. Small details.
4:51 "craft....person...ship?.." Just say the damn word, Adam.
Men refers to mankind, your not excluding anyone by saying it.
That skirt armor is something called "Mountain Pattern Armor" which is interesting because I don't think we have any real historical examples of it, but it appears in a number of sculptures and paintings
Adam Savage its my hero
I love how he love's
cosplay
Now i wanna get back to cosplay
Thanks Adam you take my breath away
I don’t know Adam’s views on the actual movie (I personally thought it was quite bad), but his sincere enthusiasm for the craftship regardless is infectious.
The movie is meh. The costumes are brilliant!
That is really cool man, it's amazing the work they out into it
A) You gotta love quite he goes at 3:56 cause the costume is just that breathtaking .
B) You gotta appreciate that he says _"Craftspersonship"_
C) Dear Mr. Savage do reveal to us how to get packages like these?
D) Can you do a tour of your armor collection? Please?
E) Finally can you a build video on how to build old Shogun Samurai Armor and Weapons?
Great Wall is so under rated
Jesus that Armor is some serious eye candy I can’t believe how magnetic it is to look at...
But in the eyes of an armour, it's an absolute eye sore.
Love your enthusiasm Adam !
What insane detail...
>3 Years Later<
Why does this give me Serpentor vibes and why is no one talking about that?!?!
That black bumpy textured fabric is also used on one of Cersei's dresses in game of thrones!! You can buy it in the UK from Top Fabric as far as i remember!
I want someone to look at and speak to me the way Adam does to the suit as he’s unboxing it.
“So beautiful.”
“Stunning.”
“Wonderful.”
If only we could have used the same words to describe the movie itself.
You could have both tried it on, that would have been interesting to see how one beautifully executed costume can transform anyone when it’s done as well as this one is. Thanks for sharing your video with me, much appreciated 🙂🐿
It must take a long time to make a pretty masterpiece
the great wall, now thats a movie i compeltely forgot existed.
Unwrapping the helmet: “Oh... oh how beautiful. My precious.” 😄
RIP Jessi Combs. We loved you.
Can we just appreciate how Adam compliments the props much like Steve Irwin with animals? I almost expected a 'crikey, she's such a beaut' but seriously, DEM DETAILS THO. I want a set of armor like that
If only there was badass armour like this in Game of thrones
As I told Punished Props yesterday. NO CAPES!!!!!! :)
I LOVE THE GREAT WALL, so in my top 5 it's just amazing, I love the colour of all the different of part for the Army it's just mind blowing and I feel every time I watch it am seeing something new in the back ground that I did not see before, I wish alot more people had loved it =D
I wonder how many times norm has dressed adam?!?!? Lol, ive seen it many times!! Lol
The converse is equally disturbing. 😉
Chinese armor is so beautiful!
"Ahhh... gorgeous!" - - as he casually drops it on his shop floor. Adam, you're killin' me man! LOL
This is me when I get a brand new costume for Halloween.
That is gorgeously made!!!
Look like some character from Dynasty warriors. Huang Zhong!
Wait, holy crap you're right! Adam in the armor set does kinda look like Huang Zhong.
Adam Savage has one of the coolest jobs ever. In the history of......ever.
I haven't watched a tested video for a long time. But I just knew, if it was a box from prop store, Adam was going to say how much he loved the huge plastic bags
I am very happy that I have seen the great wall in theater, it was a fantastic spectalce and I enojyed the story. It was not as shallow as one might think at first and very enjoyable. Chinese movies have a very different flair when talking about the price for honor and the burden of power. I like that a lot :)
Gorgeous Speedmaster. Nice armor too.
This armour kinda reminds me of the Iron Banner sets in Destiny 2, which follow a similar Japanese martial theme... they are absolutely gorgeous (both the ones in game and this one you're showing here). Such a holy amount of work has to go into these things for them to even be worthy, and all that detail really shows. Absolutely love it!
Chinese and Japanese armour are quite different
Wish I had his costume collection
02:12 "Everything is wrapped in white linen, thats archivable" **puts stuff on dirty floor**
they just ran another auction and I got this and the bear armour. Unfortunately no size info was available so the tiger boots are too small for me but yeah the whole outfit is very well made to withstand the demands of on set action
Absolutely love these armory videos
It's just so neat watching a pair of humans do something humans have been doing for thousands of years; one human helping another one get into armor.
adam is like santa and even santa likes to get presents
9:35 minutes into Cosplay and Chill and Adam gives you this look
i need my boyfriend to talk about me like adam talks about props
More armor? Gotta say I'm more than a bit jealous, and there are a few colorful verbs and nouns going through my head right now :P
Highly recommend a new TV show in China called “ the longest day in chang an, it have the most accurate Chinese armor, clothing, art by far
You said craft'person'ship 😭 this is what the world has come to. Madness
I feel your pain 😐👍
Craftspersonship..
Are we at this point?

Dear Adam ,, looks like an early Christmas for you sir !!!
Ooh the shipping's just too expensive. But that is truly gorgeous.
Yep i just won a bid but its $100 for the lowest shipping
thanks for reminding me to watch that film
I know you're not advertising that auction site and support of special effects and outfit making... but you're tempting me well, sir.
