How large are the rivets?
What type of glue do you use
Couldn't you just print out 1 finger at a time when using foam?
I‘m in my Room Building the love out of soda Cans.😂
The way the gauntlets sound when he makes a fist sounds so satisfying.
Bill is methodical ... Adam is maniacal... result is magical.
👍
Method man?
Meth man
@@melancholicdrawguy1203 U have some meth?
Haha
Oh boy that escalated quickly
this is what i love about adam, he genuinely just LOVES to learn, some see him as patronizing but he just really gets that giddy about knowledge and thats something we ALL could use
i love that this isnt jsut a half assed way to look into the production of such a thing and then be like "YOU CAN BUY THOSE FOR OUR PROFIT" but much rather an inspirational tool for people to watch where they can gather tips and even the PLANS for things
the goal of this is to inspire people to have fun building their own costumes and geek decorations and i love that.
YESSS so happy to see Bill!!! I love seeing Punished Props get their due attention!
"this is a shrine to obsession"
I like this sentence a lot.
Adams reactions to everything is so hype. "WOOOOW" "AMAAZINNNNNNNNG"
14:12 The way he's running is just like a little kid about to show off a cool thing he has. That's why I love watching Adam do stuff, whether it was Mythbusters or this channel. He shows that even if you grow old, you don't need to grow up :)
i love how Adam just gets mad scientist hair every now and then
Zonies Coasters straight hair plus low humidity equals horrifying hairflying by electrostatic repulsion
LOL! you beat me to it.
Do you think thats why he puts a hat on halfway through haha
Joel Hudson how is that a thing?
Adam Savage FOR PRESIDENT!!
I super love the sound of the gauntlet's metal clanging and clinking every time it moves.
It makes my soul feel so good.
It looks MUCH better when it's finished (After painting). Just saying. Obviously it's no where near as awesome as the real deal, but it's also far easier/cheaper to make so not bad.

I love watching two people with the same passion working together. It's magical!
I love how free they are with sharing information and techniques. So wonderful to see!
lol 22:06 Adam warming himself up with the heat gun in the background
I can't even front, my "workshop" is freezing and I do that shit alll the timmeee
lol i just found that out
Just love how they get excited doing the same things....this is called pleasure. Well done guys 👍🏼😊
Makes me realize why I really hate my job. There is nothing I get excited about.
Neoblackdragon one day mate, one day 👍🏼😉
No..It's called. Passion.
Fuzzycat • It can be both.
Called acting for the camera
Whenever I want to feel good by watching someone infused with creativity and enthusiasm, I get my needed fix of Adam.
Adam jumping from joy like a little kid... Got to love this man so much
The Excitment is awesome. "GOD I LOVE INFORMATION" needs to be on a shirt.
Krisswords
Yes
But if information is key here, there's no place for a god...
KNOWLEDGE!!!

For anyone watching, depending on your professional level, and desired outcome.
I would suggest superglue instead of contact cement for immediate seating so you don't have to wait 5 minutes EVERY single time you have to glue a seam. Then you can come back before assembly and cover the inside of the seems with cement, or hot glue.
(just my 2 cents, I'm not that patient or professional)
I really like Bill and Adam's dynamic. It's always nice having Norm or another commentator or even just Adam himself discussing the build and the process, but something about Bill and Adam discussing the work and their technique and tips and tricks is really neat
It's always so fun to see somebody who does this sort of work drop nuggets of gold to problems you've had. Just use a sharpened brass tube to punch holes. Increase your pattern 10% to keep it from being too tight. Small things that save a huge amount of time and effort refining.
Literally my biggest two inspirations collaborating.. brings a tear to my eye 🤧
I loved watching this video. ..2 great, creative and enthusiastic maker guys. I loved Adam jumping up and down with glee😄. This was a fantastic colaboration, with Adam and Bill working so well with each other
Probably the first one day build I've watched in its entirety with no scrubbing through. It was so enjoyable to watch the back-and-forth between them, sharing ideas.
I love Adam Savage. His enthusiasm for what he does lights up the room. Awesome gauntlet.
Two of my favorite prop makers together :D Super cool! And Adam, you're more excited than kids on Christmas morning.
25:55
Wow. I've been watching Adam for along time (that sounded weird, sorry. Watching as in Mythbusters and this channel) this is the first time I've heard him curse
They beep it out in mythbusters, they have that one episode where they test if swearing helps pain tolerance
Late comment is late: If memory serves, he's commented elsewhere that he normally "curses like a sailor" but tries to rein it in for videos.
I love watching Adam in anything because his excitement is always so genuine. He is one person I would love to meet.
That metal gauntlet is fantastic. Love the way the finger plates move.
"God I love information!" Me too Mr. Savage. Me too.
KNOWLEDGE!!!
fyi @ 17:00
even better at 2x speed
Adams metal gauntlet is sooo dope!! I want a pair of those!
Bill & Adam...my two favorites just hangin' out and bein' crafty. I love it.
I love watching Adam get super excited, it's just adorable haha. Also that turned out amazing!! I can't wait to see it totally finished!
Great work as always. Very fun and informative!
It's you
Two geeks geeking out. Wonderful!
It is absolutely incredible that they have the template in the description. Definitely want to make these. Thank you so much!
adam please do a one day build a week, i am a maker myself and love love LOVE seeing other peoples work, the methods they use, the amazing projects they create, its such beautiful work and i love seeing it, and its all the much better that its you making things, i have been a huge fan of yours and the way you do and make things, the way you explain everything, you are an amazing and damn near perfecr maker and i need my fill of Adam Savage every week!
I also love seeing that Adam is such a passionate maker that he will sit and listen to other people talk about their ideas and tools and how they do things, and he will appreciate it, digest it and sometimes even learn from it, its such a beautiful thing to watch.
.......THEY CAN DO AT HOME *starts laser*
Before the tools, you need patience :>
Patience you need, before the tools young Padawan XD
@@g60force xD
It's incredibly fun to see two so talented makers work together and their minds just instantly click together and better each other like that. It's like you have a what's it called when twins kind of have that connection? Or like best friends? But that's what I'm saying. I love these videos. Great piece to!
It's amazing that, at this point in time, Adam is still learning new things despite his excellent experience in the field. This is why I love watching one day builds.
What an excellent duo. I think the two of you have the best chemistry of any pair on this channel.
Can't wait for "Adam Savage's One Decade Builds: 'The Martian' Space Suit!"
This video was everything!!♡ my nonexistent nasgul heart is tingly
I friggen love how your shelving system is set up, you have it written down on a legend and you can walk right to where it is.. Love it
Adam I loved watching you as a teen and here I am as an adult still watching you! There’s nothing like a maker at heart haha. Tools, learning new things, always gathering knowledge! ❤️
Awesome two of my favorite makers in one place SWEET!! and Lord of the Rings nice!!
Your artificial catgut, we call it Waxed Lacing Cord in aerospace. It's awesome stuff. When you knot it up it stays put. Amazon has it.
Ive never seen two people so in love with their work. I love it so much.
The enthusiasm whenever Bill gives Adam a new technique is incredible.
I basically marathoned a ton of these videos in a few days, so i am excited to see a One Day Build upload and not watching it years after its upload XD
And so it begins. When Frank announced his departure, I hoped Tested would collaborate with Bill. When I saw "foam" in the title of this video, my hopes were renewed... And sure enough!
Tested and Punished Props are my two favorite maker channels, so I look forward to more like this.
EDIT: Because it's an FAQ, Frank announced his departure on a Tested video in December. His own business is booming so much that he can't split time any more. So it's really a good thing, although of course still sad to see Frank go.
Preske They announced it in the "Our favourite projects with Frank Ippolito" back in December. He left to focus more on his business.
It's in the "Our Favorite Projects with Frank Ippolito" video. Basically his business went from a small indie shop into a giant art studio so it's getting harder and harder to do videos especially with the amount of contracted NDA work he gets now.
Oh cool so he left for a good reason. I was so worried.
I’m glad he left for a good reason! 😌 I was watching one of his seasons on Face Off, (since my mom is obsessed with Face Off now,) and I freaked out when I first saw him on there! Now following him on instagram so I can see what he does next! 🧟♂️📷
A Ringwraith gauntlet unintentionally giving me the middle finger is the best thing I've seen all day. Definitely the most satisfying gesture to make, if I ever craft up one of these gauntlets.
Been following both you guys for a while, and been lucky enough to meet you both-but honestly, gotta love how excited you look to be learning something new! Foam builds rule!
It's always so satisfying watching 1day builds.
My two favorite channels have collided!
There is so much positive and calm energy from this video, I love it
I think my dad would be in heaven on earth if he could spend a couple days in your cave. Seeing all your geeky and nerdy stuff in addition to the Man Toys would make his jaw drop
Very cool project!
14:12 how happy he is when he is running
I love how excited Adam gets about everything.
We humans truly are amazing creations of nature, it's mind boggling how we are just a bunch of cells all working in sync to achieve the goal of running our bodies, and then beyond that we have brains that can store and shift through mountains of data for years on end, it is beautiful.
"I have a 10% exaggeration rate in my stories" He blew up a cement truck with the LA bomb squad. How can that be exaggerated XD
He could say they filmed it in slow motion
@@endomobo359 He did film it in slow motion for Mythbusters tho XD
@@P0SS1BLYS4N3 no, they never got the slow Mo for that
@@endomobo359 Then what's this?
ua-cam.com/video/lIbl_3g5FRA/v-deo.html
"We used a mini nuke to blow up a cement truck with the CIA Bomb Squad!"
This is something I've wanted to build for a long time. Thank you so much for showing me how.
I love how organized Adam's workshop is.
I love Adam's excitement. Even if he has known all these tricks, you'd never know it from how excited he is.
This might be one of my all-time favourite UA-cam videos. OMG, how awesome is it to see Adam Savage and Bill Doran of Punished Props working together to create something beautiful!
Also cool -- seeing master- craftspeople exchange techniques/methods with each other, and sharing with the rest of us here with palpable joy -- thankyou!
Tfw the color correction comes in late.
Also, neat, I'm totally gonna make one of these. By hand tho, no lasers.
To see such genuine excitement and enjoyment from the sharing of knowledge and making something fun is amazing! Plus what cosplay building is all about!
I’ve learned more about working with foam in this video than I think I ever will in foam-specific tutorials. This is the best!
FINALLY AN UPDATE ABOUT THE MARTIAN SUIT!
Great cohost, more collabs with Bill Doran please !
Incredibly impressive build. Amazing the versatility of EVA foam
Adam Savage is a national treasure tbh. He's a pleasure to watch work. And Bill seems to be his perfect work partner. :D Great vid, guys!
Adam and friends, I’ve seen your tool organization/storage obsession and mold making. There are tons of videos showing mechanics cutting out foam to fit tools in drawers, is it possible to pour silicone in a drawer full of tools to do the same thing as the foam?
jay west That actually sounds pretty interesting. I'd imagine you'd have to soak the tools in mold release to prevent them from the silicone finding it's way into all of the joints, but it be quite a nice fit and pretty satisfying to return the tools back to their spot.
jay west Would require a lot more cleanup, and silicone tends to degrade faster than EVA foam
Dylan Headrick or cover the tools with thin (think cooking film) wrap?
And would probably be way more expensive to use silicone.
The problem is that the tools will be in the *bottom* of the drawer, with the silicone between and *above* them. Your tools would end up like the bits of fruit in a creepy jell-o mold. And hinge tools would drive you nuts forever.
Hey, Adam, I love your channel it has helped me a lot with my props, I was wondering if you could do the helmet of Helm Hammerhand when he was a Nazgul.
its such a joy watching you boys play with your tools :D i love the excitement you both get learning from each other !
So nice to see a local guy hanging with Adam and working on such an awesome project!
25:55 did he just say "You can bind shit really tight" lol
I thought so too.... lol
Just catching up but yeah. 100+ cool points
I think he says "bunch it"
After watching this, I can only imagine how long the metal work actually took for that gauntlet. Geez. Cheers from imgur.
It never ceases to amaze me at how multi-talented Adam is. Not even just that -- his organization is freaking amazing!
You know, I would love to get into a hobby like this. It is so damn cool. And the thing is, I probably could. However, even as awesome as it is, it's so involved and deceptively demanding that I simply can't be bothered. A shame, really. Maybe one day.
Adam, I love how you get super excited about a tool you have to use, leave, and then you come running back in all giddy. I bet you were super funny in school drunk. 😂😂😂

Next One Day Build: Adam Installs Better Shop Heating.
I'm loving the nerd out between these two makers
I’m not really interested in hardware or stuff like this but I consistently watch Adam’s content because I love watching people do what they love and get so excited about it
Oh I see, build a foam enclosure - bad. Build foam gauntlets - good. :)
Hahahahaa! =D
Joel it's prob because it wasn't a lord of the rings foam enclosure total makes the difference :P
"Enclosure". ;) But both are definitely great fun to built.
make the eye of sauron!
There's nothing wrong with foam, but that enclosure was shoddy.
Adam Savage said finesse and low key.. my life is complete.
Low key is funny to hear, but finesse? That's just a normal word that people use, isn't it?
Yea finesse just means skill ...or do something delicately
not in modern day mongoloid terms; they weren't used as slang
And also low key is also a standard word that means somethings basic/simple or minimalistic and just has been abused by Americans
jack cronin I don't think you can abuse words. Also anything that can get young kids learning new word is great. On that note a lot of the words we use today are slang so what are we really defending?
Adam is my number one role model. his curiosity and skill are inspiring
My two favorite channels - Tested and Punished Props
-how much heat is too much heat?
-if its burned its too much heat
Ánh Nguyễn Ngọc science am I right
*I WANT IT*
would love if you guys came back. (mythbusters) Most of all u Adam. I miss watching you guys :( it may sound weird. But you guys helped me thru some VERY hard times in my life. With all the issues and problems I went thru you guys gave me some joy in my life. So Thank you guys so much for EVERYTHING!!
My two favorite builders in one video. It's a miracle
"God, I love information!"
-Adam Savage
this is amazing.. i never thought i would say "thank you for making me wait so long for this video" because this is a real treat
seeing his excitement brings me way to much joy.
Always wanted to bind shit really tightly. Now I know how. Artificial Cat Gut.
LostWhits I really need some of this for my leather project! Where can I get it?
Aaron Blankenship - look for artificial sinew. It's pretty damned cheap.
Aaron Blankenship pretty much any craft shop, pretty sure I've even seen it at Walmart
I think that comment slipped by most 😂
Nice Suros phone case.
Adam that gauntlet is Nerdy Beauty. This is talent. I love it.
I love seeing parallels between build processes and materials. Bill rough cutting the foam and fine tuning it with the Dremel is very similar to they way Adam uses his knife sander with the different radius wheels to fine tune and edge of say wood or sometimes metal.
But then there are nuances to specific materials like foam. Techniques you learn from using it over and over and trading info with others. I'm sure there's a bunch of others
I got one of those see through metal edged rulers in my Maker Box. Going to make sure it pull it out next time I make something from foam.
