I have probably seen John prine 10 times in concert a few times with a band but mainly just him and a guitar not the best voice but he wrote some of the best songs back in the Vietnam Era he sounded old in this video God bless
Homie my daughter used to ask me all the time why I loved Prine so much when he opulent sing for shit. I told her when you write songs the way he does you don't need a great voice. Look at Smashing Pumpkins and Violent Femmes. Billy nor Gordon could sing for shit but they could write some of the prettiest songs you'll ever hear

Stirgil Simpson did some shows with him & also Kasey Muscraves did too. And both of them did tributes to him when he died. Some of the music they did with him & for him was damn good! You guys might wana check some of it out? Sometime you might wana check out Stirgil Simpson just by himself? He has some pretty amazing music!
