I just found out about Tony Hsieh’s death...I’m am shocked and saddened. His Delivering Happiness gave me such hope in life to do something worthwhile, big, and that makes me happy. He was a pioneer and brilliant individual. We lost one of the greats. Rest in Power.

Eating junk food, living in so call "high-tech" trash trailer, wearing trashy cloth, have no style, shaving heads for publicity, double people salary so people is able to live close to him (waht an ego), you want me to go on and on and making employee your sex partner/girlfriend and yet unable to get out, unable to date, your appearance on The Apprentice gave you So much opportunities to marry high-class woman, yet you still not interested because you LOVE YOUR MONEY TOO MUCH (is what i can see).......i can see he is "totally broke" inside. You should copy Jeff Bezo's. The happiest man on earth. So what you got divorced, just write a $39 billion dollars check. However, your contribution to this world can not be dismissed or negated. You changed so many people's lives and corporate culture model...for the good of humanity.
One thing chimed was he encouraged his employees to integrate their home personality with work personality. WoW! I’m sure there were many employees who felt a huge weight off their shoulders to be just who they are. Compassion will shine with integrity of their work to ensure everything was done to enhance the customer experience to keep returning.
Never knew who was behind Zappos until word of his passing. Tony was a genius. I've learn a lot about life and putting things in perspective from recently viewed videos with him. Thank you and rest in eternal peace.
Just a month I spoke about his vision it ought not to be about money being a business owner it’s the vision and the money will follow.... legends like him seems to slowly are disappearing . Rest in continued positive alignment

#9 Maximize customer experience- Pretty amazing, a lot of the ideas, no upsell, no tracking of call times, no shipping cost, 24/7 warehouse, 365 day return policy all center on maximizing the customer experience. So they are actually doing it, not just talking about it. The lesson is the value of establishing a strong relationship with the customer is greater than the cost of being less efficient.
Thanks for making this video. I just interviewed to work at Loan Depot today. I have watched a few videos on and about Anthony. I an truly amazed with Anthony as a CEO. I have worked for Enterprise Rent a Car, AT&T, Verizon, TWC and Spectrum in the past 20 years. Not to talk bad about other companies but Anthony is light years ahead of the CEO's from the companies that I have worked for....I have passed up on meeting a few of these CEO's from winning awards because I felt that workers and customer were never put first. Even if I do not get this position. I have now added Anthony to my bucket list of people I would want to meet! I could see hanging out with him past just being coworkers!! Seems like a real down to earth cool guy!
As an experienced receptionist/administrative assistant I can relate to Zappos “High Touch” customer service experience! I just believe in going the extra mile and treating others the way I would like to be treated!
I have been working in retail/the corporate environment for over 10 years. This video was so exciting for me! I would love to work for a company that holds to the same values that Mr. Hseih talks about. My favorites were maximizing customer service and forming close bonds with other workers. It just made so much sense to me to think that way and to encourage those behaviors. It seems like it would not only create an awesome working experience, but it would cut down on inner drama and foster a team atmosphere. To have a job where I felt supported and appreciated as an individual and not just because I am performing a function would be amazing. I am kind of a natural people person, so customer service is my niche. It is the one thing about my job that makes it more than a job; and makes it a way to connect with people and share the joy in a product we both love. Getting to know my customers is what makes what I do transcend from selling lotion into forming and keeping lasting professional relationships. So it's so refreshing to know there are other companies out there that encourage those ideals. The idea that a company focuses more on the people in their care than the bottom line is one I would love to see in action. Thanks for the insights!
