They’re usually auto entered if you select an arrival runway. To enter manually just type the frequency in the scratch pad (110.50 for example) then click the soft key next to the ILS box.
Is anyone else having the problem that with everything set up correctly and following this guide to the letter. The plane just does not follow the flight plan? When on nav it just keeps going in a straight line, and at some point on the FMS it just said HDG and NAV at the same time, but I could just not get it to follow the flight plan. I cant find any fixes on google.
As a casual player it sucks you can't use the built in VFR tool from World Map like in A320N, where you just enter flight plan and AP sticks to it, this is basically just a bigger version of it and it sucks you can't do longer flights without doing some fiddling.
For some reasons, my autopilot is very inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. By that I mean I cannot even activate/engage the autopilot. I have looked through my steps many times and however it still does not engage most of the time. It keeps giving me the bell/ringing tone even time I select AP1 or AP2. Any chance someone could help? I fly A320 FBW all the time and it all works...somehow not with the A330 :(
@@TiJayFLY Yeah, my current version is 0.5.8, which is the latest one. 0.5.9 is apparently a pre-release and nothing new to the aircraft per se according to the developers. My throttle is fully calibrated using your guide. And, I made sure it's in CLB level. Right after take off, I was able to engage autopilot but it automatically disengaged...really not sure what's happening.

@@DreamBloxDev I don’t 😂 all Airbus models 318 to 340 fly the same, if you can fly one you can fly them all. There are usually just small variations between addons in terms of the EFBs and quality / accuracy of the simulation itself.
Do you know how to properly configure a saitek throttle on this so it doesn’t reverse when at the idle spot? I can’t seem to figure it out using the calibration tab

This is usually called by the pilot monitoring. I don’t think any MSFS airplane comes with this by default. You can see the speeds marked on the PFD tape.
I've had a few issues with the A330-900 Autopilot it would stay engaged for around 5 minutes and the suddenly disconnect and will stay off for the remainder of the flight and it happens every flight??
It seems to be an inconsistent bug - it may not happen to you. Even in this case, it reverted to managed sometime during cruise / before descent. If it does happen my suggestion is to work around it as shown. Hopefully further updates to the plane will reduce the chances of this happening.
@@LittleMinecraftLizard if you select a runway when making your flight plan you’ll have an intercept point before the runway. It might not be called FIxx or whatever but it’ll be the one just before the RW waypoint

@@RealSalvage I did figure out. I had msfs on developer mode and didn’t turn off all the assists you have to turn off. As soon as I did it worked. Try it

@@Nioghtrush-mo3nk a lot of settings are not saving right now. It’s because everything is stored on the cloud and the servers are dying, so it doesn’t save or recall properly.
@@Swampel make sure your heading wheel is set to Managed mode (mouse wheel up / click when the arrow is pointing up). You should see -- ( ) instead of a heading displayed

Does the aircraft automatically climb out of the transition altitude after a while of staying at that altitude? My plane stays on the transition altitude and i have to press the expedite climb button to get it climbing again. Extremely helpful tutorial otherwise!
After 10,000 it’ll auto resume once it’s at the speed it’s trying to reach. And same with altitude constraints - it’ll resume climb once it’s passed them. You shouldn’t have to press expedite
It should just pull through, but I know later versions of the FBW made it an option in the EFB (which I believe is still enabled by default). Check the “Sync MSFS Flight Plan” setting as shown here docs.flybywiresim.com/fbw-a32nx/feature-guides/flypados3/settings/

If they’re off/not working - assuming the plane is actually powered on, check that everything (sim and plane) is up to date. If they’re just dark, the brightness controls are located to the left of the PFD, and on the top left of the pedestal for the ECAM.

Yeah, I don’t like that either. Same as when airplanes don’t accept world map flight plans. The sim has perfectly good built in tools, why not use them?

Is your headwind a330 up to date? Also, throttle calibration may be different - make sure your throttle is definitely in the CLB detent

It says not allowed when i clear the flight plan discontinuity.
Is there a MANUAL waypoint before or after it?
The updated one doesn't have get metar on the ipad so you have to drop down menu and click metar and then click fill data from beside it

1 you can calibrate your throttle on the EFB 2 check your rudder assignments, sounds like a hardware conflict

I think there’s a tick box “reverser on same axis”. Check the FlyByWire documentation on their website :)
I don’t know why but mine starts shaking violently in the air sometimes and idk how to fix it

You can move the cockpit camera to the cabin and just assign a custom interior view as you would for a cockpit camera

The rudder controls are inverted and it steers like an aircraft carrier
You can invert the rudder axis in sim options. Also make sure nosewheel steering axis is tied to rudder active, and NWS is active

It will throttle back in the CLB detent to maintain a managed speed. You shouldn’t really be at full throttle at any point.
In real world you don’t climb at full throttle

If you’re just starting out, use the MSFS world map. The tutorial is in the pinned comment. I don’t have Simbrief tutorials.

It’s on the flyPad under Settings - you can separate tiller from rudder, and then configure a tiller axis in the sim
