When the nuke circles around the target before colliding with it, it reminds me of the blue shell from Mario Kart, but instead of taking first place from you, it takes the whole stern of your ship.

We have received reports of a new weapon based off the surprisingly deadly Dart refit. Apparently it's just a chunk of light alloys strapped with engines and a tactical nuclear warhead. These improvised WMDs are a terrifying attempt to create a low-cost miniature ballistic missile to be used in excessive quantities. Apparently the design is cheaper to fling at targets than it is to supply a proper ship with munitions and supplies for an extended conflict. I pray that the demon does not bring about a nuclear winter.
(Also, I quite like the loud music in the background to be honest. Makes the awkward pauses less awkward.)

I was not trying to refer back to that incident, just thought about how small a bomb it was and the name popped up
I think since he had said they were like angry flies in the beginning that their name should be "Flies", since a single nuke puts a nice(at least nice for the users) hole in an enemy, they basically "decompose" the target slowly.
Once its a huge nuke it will be called fat man

Also I remember making a nuke that would be launched from space and so it had ion engines. It costed 2000 but was quite slow, but also fired from space.
Also the grey talons nuke, is pretty bad. As it’s flying everywhere and is quite bad at hitting things.

you can tack on extra nukes for a measly 100 each, also, shield pieces. you can use them to store immense power from rtg, then when the nuke explodes it releases soooooo much energy.
Ring shields? Also, RTGs are way too expensive for this.

What do you mean by storing power and releasing so much energy? How do shields store energy that can be released?
@@zachawkes2842 Ring shields buff armour based on how much energy is stored within the ring shield. The larger the ring is, the more energy can be stored. When the ring gets broken, the stored energy will be ejected out of the gap in a destructive fashion.
You should return to airships conquer the skies. It has had some new updates, plus there are a ton of awesome mods.

He doesn't do mods ,and that is a game with little content ,you can learn everything there is to learn in that game in a max of 150 hours ,while something like from the depths needs 1500 hours just for the basics
The Vessel knows where it is by knowing where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater) . . .
The CHUNKY nuke looks like the toy magnetic-darts that my family have on our fridge. Though not explosive, it does make quite the smack when thrown.

From my testing it seems the scramblers affects any enemy CPE within certain range. But the closer it gets and the more power you give it the greater the effect. I'm thinking of building a dedicated ECM plane.
Should name it "The Angry Gnat" no matter how many times you swat at it, it swats back!

You've actually already done this build before in From the Depths Campaign, and you had a devastating effect on the campaign with only roughly 5 Flying Nukes, getting a roughly 250:1 Block K/D ratio.

Breadboard. It would be so easy to switch between two sets of PIDs, one set that's loose for evasion and a stable set for closing. You could use switches to engage the homing set within a certain range. Best of all, it would only take up a single block. I don't even use PID blocks anymore, all of my newer craft use breadboards. It looks daunting, but it took me less time to figure out than APS, all things considered.

Generally they are designed to go straight in. There is a circling behavior if they lose sight of the target.

My favourite thing is building tiny Nuke drones 5-10 blocks large that can be launched from my bigger ships - sort of how scout planes would be slingshot from destroyers. ^_^

It’s trying to hit the enemy anyway, and the rams might get the nuke deeper inside some designs before exploding
If you put a slight delay in the control block controlling the nuke, you basically get a gaunt nuclear Bolter round
Woke up a little while ago after taking a forced nap due to stomach problems and really bad pain, currently still a little loopy and lightheaded (yes, i was in so much pain it left me lightheaded for hours even with sleeping) and having a vid of just screwing around with angry detonating flies, i do feel a bit better, perfect timing lath, thanks for being a ridiculous scientist of epically laughable ideas, very enjoyable for a currently lightheaded me, probably funnier than intended but still funny either way, love the vids, keep it up.

Suggestion 1: Add a single shot, inaccurate, high penetration gun at the front that fires 10 meters from the target to serve as some sort of armor pen capability and allow the nuke to detonate inside the ship.
Suggestion 2: Have a drone ship create them and possibly handle all aiming for them. Just so that you can manufacture new ones right at the front lines instead of shipping them in from resource extraction sites. I mean, they're single use so unless you have a lot of them constantly coming in, they won't be able to create much of an offensive momentum. You'd kill one fleet, wait for new ones to come in, move on only to see the enemy has already brought in a new fleet. With a drone ship you'd kill one fleet, if the drone ship survives, you can push ahead immediately and take advantage of your victory. For that purpose I'd suggest making the drone ship a sub, with a small production platform above water. Maybe call it the Man o' war?

You could make another drone ship that used both version of the nuke, one fly around like a Mad Fly and the other head right for the target like a Mad Bull. That would divide the energy's fire. The Drone Ship could be light armored with the basic weapons so once the nukes go boom the ship is on it only.
A friend of mine made a kinetic kill vehicle, with the minor difference that instead of intercepting ICBMs, it is killing is anything that it gets too close to... when it actually hits. Has a single shot advanced cannon inside itself with rams at the front and nukes inside, flying via jet engines. The recoil of the cannon propells it to such a speed when close to an enemy, that it can tear open the entire side of the biggest ship I could find.
Modern Anti-Ship missiles "flare" before it impacts. It flys about 2-3m off the surface of the ocean to avoid being detected, then when it gets within a nautical mile it pitches up really hard to about a kilometer up, then pitches back down so that it hits the deck or superstructure, which are both substantially weaker than the hull.
Ah good, Lathrix building a smarter(?) missile in the small hours of the morning. Kinda glad nukes aren't that strong now. They don't feel as cheesy as they used to.

Something you might wanna try is a crazy little idea I played with before. i was using harpoon missiles to drag my nukes to their target so they couldn't really miss. It is far cheaper than proper movement and I just made them as drones. Normal detection kinda ignores them as they are small, don't make heat, have minimal weapons, and no speed. I made it to deliver tick nukes but a plain nuke works just as well.
More FtD, my absolute favorite series because it can be so silly and so explode-y keep up the silly work

Well to answer that with my thinking at least, firstly the nuke damage doesn't stack, sadly - The other nukes would only increase the odds of detonation on impact but also make It more vulnerable against AA, you can also using control blocks like I have on this design which cost a fraction of a single nuke to detonate the craft If It gets within X meters of the target, pretty much guaranteeing the nuke goes off even If It doesn't hit It head on. :)
Try the version with a harpoon (rope with a rocket) you will be amazed :D

A nuke craft that has a spin block with rams to drill in to the enemy then detonate would be cool.
I don't know if this has been said or not. But you should make the nuke look like a real Hydrogen bomb, and either build a bomber that creates and drops them, or make it look like an ICBM that's launched from a missile carrier. You could build some really cool large missile silos on this ship that hold the ICBMs. The nukes aren't extraordinarily op anymore to my understanding, but making them launched from a ship like an oversized missile just sounds really fun to create, work on, and to use. To build the tubes you can use the docking blocks and build an auto blueprint printer if that's possible, I don't know the new game very well. It would be similar to an aircraft carrier that holds onto their fighter until it's time to battle and can rebuild them when lost mid-fight due to having many resource containers, you could do this but with the ICBMs.

okay i dont normally comment like this but you could easily half the cost of the nuke by just making it reliant on a mother ship. and it will be reliant on a mother ship no matter what. i honestly havent been following this series recently so if this breaks any of your personal rules or your playing on a different version of the game then sorry ignore this lol
replace engine with 2 batteries and electric engine (it will have enough energy to power 1 jet engine for the amount of time its alive. and if you need it to last longer then just supply it with a mother ship): -250~ materials (fuel storage tank is 400, so its less the cost of the engine and more the cost of the fuel that your saving. also your saving a metal block's worth of weight lol)
remove detection equipment and just use a inter-vehicle transmitter: -200~ materials
replace jet engine pitch, roll, and yaw control with custom control surfaces (custom control surfaces are insanely easy to setup and are actually very effective): -500~ materials (also you could just tune the control surfaces so you could remove pids... only saves like 16 materials so not worth it though might help with protection i guess lol)
also you should really make the nose more pointy, so 4 long triangles instead of 1 long. this will drastically decrease drag and make it a decent bit faster. also putting a ram on the end and just having the nuke detonate by a control block will cause it to be able to penetrate armor and detonate further into the ship causing way more damage
Should make it fly almost directly over the targets then do a loop and fly directly down in a spiral on top of the target

Not sure if I've shared this tidbit with you yet, but when strategic AI first came out and the factions were allowed to take over each other's territory, GT would consistently dominate the map by spamming nukes and knock out multiple factions on their own. This stopped when the ICBM was set to a 0% spawn rate and relegated solely to subspawn construction.

GNM-01 Pidgeon guided tactical nuclear delivery vehicle.
A simple guided drone fitted with a tactical nuclear warhead. Designed to be launched in combat range from a carrier ship to softed up a hard target before allied assets get in range.
You don't need turn thrusters. control surfaces are plenty effective at the speeds its traveling. It'd save you enough to have 2 nukes per vehicles!
The nuke shouldn't be given detection because it costs so much. Using the inter-vehicle add-on allows friendly vehicles to give telemetry (target) data to each other. It's super helpful to give this to drones so you can use their target data for long-range artillery strikes.

And yes, it's physically impossible to not keep testing nukes once you've made one.
Can't wait for the big chunky, equipped with 4 nukes, a radar disruption thing, top speed of mach 10, and impossible to hit.
the Nuke in this game really needs to be more powerful... ITs a NUKE, yet does similar damage to a large cram shell, it should be something that's expensive to deploy but can completely wreck enemies. and the use of which can anger other factions

there is a component that sends detection info to your other vehicles, use that and a mother ship and you can then have just one proccessing card for the sensor scrambler
Hmmm.... It needs a ramming point. A way to burrow into the target a few layers, then detonate inside. That would be nightmare to deal with.

Lath, it's worth noting that the Wiki says that the Sensor Scrambler:
A. Works on all enemy vehicles (within range), regardless of who that vehicle is targeting.
B. Doesn't use Processing Power, only Engine Power.
The Wiki does say that the article needs updating though, so take this with a grain of salt.
