Kameron ❤❤. I put in my notice October 9th to quit my job. There was an incident with an employee being disrespectful and when I went to management, they gave excuses for him. This was not my first incident with this employee. I decided to put my notice in and follow my passion to open a candle company. I saved my money that I received while unemployed. I have been scared to "step out on faith" , but I decided that I needed to. My job was draining me physically, emotionally, and mentally. I feel great about my decision but I will admit that I am a little scared. But now is the time for me to try to be an Entrepreneur. I hope to launch my company at the end of December. If you don’t have kids or any other commitments..... then why the hell not. Law is always your fall back. I’ve waited months to quit a job then once I do doors always open. You seem so much lighter and just peaceful.

I left law practice about 5 years ago after I clerked for a judge. I just was not interested in going back to a law firm after that experience. It takes a while to transition away from firm life. I did employment/civil rights too. I do mostly academic research on legal issues and how they influence long term policy outcomes. I work just as much, but it’s more self directed. You’ll love it.
How do you get into that kind of job? I’m kind of interested in working in legal research

I’m about 8 min. into the video and I just want to give you a hug and tell you that everything will be OK. I too quit my job because I decided to put myself first and go back to school to finish my education. I’m 30 years old, I gave every bit of me to my last job that it got to the point where I was completely MISERABLE. I was completely terrified about quitting but if I gave my very best to a place that succeeded why couldn’t I do it for myself. I didn’t want to waste my life waiting for something to happen when in all reality, I can make it happen for myself. There are so many things that you can do with license. Government law may be a better fit for you. No billable hours and public service.

I just knew how exhausted you were from watching some of your vlogs with doing the influencer/entrepreneur business with being a lawyer ... chile. After undergrad I went to work for a non-profit (As an editor/writer for a magazine) doing something I loved, but I slowly realized that it killing my body and spirit with the lack of boundaries and overworking and being underpaid. I decided to leave. At 23, I was so scared because I thought I was making the wrong choice at such a young age. A little under a month, I got into my dream grad school and I'm starting to build up my brand as well. Overall - listen to those signs! They are there for a reason and you never know the overwhelming amount of blessings that could fall on your lap if you just take that risk. So proud of you Kameron! Can't wait to see the transition.

Hi Kameron, love your videos! I've never commented but I'm a junior attorney as well and quit my law firm job. It was just not for me. I had so much of the thoughts and feelings you spoke about. I prayed about it and even had ppl say, "why would you leave such a good job", without knowing all the circumstances, but I'm so happy with my decision. I even got another job which I enjoy much more. YOU know what's best for you, what makes you happy and it's YOU has to get up and go to that job every day and not anyone else. Happy for you and keep growing!
Did you go to another law related field? I’m planning to go to law school 2021 but I haven’t decided on the exact job I’d like to do.
@@FeelingFitFabFun Hi Csauls! I now working at an investment banking company but in the trust field. With law there are many different fields you can end up working in particularly in financial services - legal officer, corporate secretary work, trust work etc. You can also look into being an in-house attorney at various companies, because many companies have small legal departments as well.

My husband is a practicing attorney and he got his first job as a prosecutor and he doesn’t like it at all. He always had a dream of doing civil law. He’s at his last with that job. And he’s starting to branch off and do different assignments with civil law.
I never for a second thought you couldn’t do it. It’s amazing that you’re following your passion. I also love how “following your passion” looks different for everyone. You do you!

You're younger than me, but when I say this is so inspirational. I have so much drive and ambition to be an entrepreneur, but I have way more responsibilities going on. I'm going to keep pushing though. I plan to start back influencing as well, but whewww people don't realize the time commitment that it takes. I'm ready though. I'm so incredibly thankful for my job, but its not where I'm supposed to be. It's BEEN time to go. I just have to make sure al bases are covered before I do. Congratulations to you on your success and new endeavors.
